Is Rick Perry going to run in 2012? There are things about Perry I really like and they are things I really don’t like – this is in no way an endorsement.
Rick Perry is sounding more and more like a presidential candidate.
The Wall Street Journal writes about the Texas governor’s speech at the Republican Leadership Conference, during which he called for giving more power to state governments, spoke of individual liberties, and encouraged Republicans not to put social issues on the backburner.
I believe liberals are terrified of Rick Perry – they are pushing John Huntsman just too hard. Just like they are afraid of Sarah Palin – because liberals will tell you who they fear by who they marginalize, who they attack and they will tell you who they want by who they pretend to fear.
Perry has his baggage and there are a number of steep hurdles he’ll have to overcome, but one thing I like about Perry that many currently in the race lack is the willingness to take it to Obama and serve him up. Most of the current field is hitting around the edges but not yet delivering body blows that Perry is willing and able to deliver.
My jury is still out on Rick Perry for now – his connection to the manufacture of Gardasil and his mandate to force girls to take the shot is troubling, his position on amnesty and several other issues need to be answered. There is no perfect candidate nor prospective candidate that is without flaw. Question is who’s flaws will be answered?
