It just my damn luck

Sort of politics and current events and sort of not…

I’ve never been very lucky, I could buy 5 scratch offs lottery tickets with the odds of 1 in 4 winning and I’ll loose on all 5 – likely why I rarely ever play the lottery. As a result I’ve worked for everything I have and nothing has been given to me – no handouts here. Right now I am in need of a vacation – it might be this year it might be next year it might be never and I was looking at vacation deals online because I have a knack for finding deals – it’s not luck of finding deals, it’s looking high and low for them – so I just don’t stumble across deals nor do they fall in my lap. I hunt them down like the deals they are. Oh you can go use Hotwire, Priceline, Orbitz, Travelocity or any of those discount sites but if you know where to look and how to look you can find some real deals out there a lot better than theirs. However, you have to be flexible and ready to go at a moment notice or wait a long time to go because you’re banking on a down economy that you have the money and they want it. Keep in mind you don’t have to stay in their hotel, but they have to fill rooms to stay in business. Same goes for products – use the attitude that you don’t have to buy it, but they have to sell it and you’re in the bargaining drivers seat.

Anyway I digress, I’ve been all over the world and those I travel with have not and I’ve seen most of this great country blah, blah, blah – long story short I was randomly looking for deals online earlier this week (Aug 24) I do that sometimes for fun – some people plays games I look for deals and I came across this great deal to go to a foreign tropical beach and stay in a 5 star hotel with a free room upgrade to a deluxe suite and it was for 8 days and 7 night including round trip airfare all taxes and fees included for just $711.00 per person! Now that’s a deal – 2 people at $711 – that’s $1422 – toss in an another $1000 for meals, shopping, shows, local transportation etc and you’ve got a pretty decent get away for about $2500.00 – not cheap, but not outrageous either. Hell, we spent nearly that much going to a beachfront resort in Florida panhandle for less than a week last year.

Now, I know what you’re thinking ‘damn man book it!’ Well I was seriously thinking about it, but it was in Acapulco, Mexico! I use to work a lot in Mexico and I have no problem with the Mexican people or the ones here LEGALLY and truthfully I enjoy their culture, their food, the ruins and the beaches – not to mention the exchange rate is now 13 peso to a dollar. I also figured that Acapulco was far enough removed from the border that perhaps it’s was safe(r) there and I wouldn’t have to worry about the drug wars and all that crap – after all you can’t write off all of America just because San Francisco full of nuts nor can you write off any other country because of a given area.

Well I was still thinking about it this week and still thinking of booking it then I got home late Friday and what was the headline on Drudge?

Well what the $&%*!! Acapulco – that’s just my luck.

Actually it was 15 murdered – 15 Slain in Acapulco, Mexico

MEXICO CITY – Fifteen people were found shot to death Friday in and around the Pacific coast resort town of Acapulco, authorities in the southern state of Guerrero said.
Acting on an anonymous telephone tip, police discovered the bodies of six men along the highway linking Acapulco with Mexico City.
The victims’ hands and feet were tied and their eyes covered with duct tape, Guerrero police said, and beside the bodies were messages from the killers to rival criminal groups.

So it’s either my luck that I saw the headline before I booked the trip or it’s my luck that this happened thus killing a great deal… then again maybe that’s why they had such great deals in the first place or I could risk it and the deals would be even better – if I was soloing a trip you can bet your ass I’d shoot (no pun intended) for a better deal. Hell it can’t be any worse than staying in a run down motel in Compton, CA like I once did, but I doubt the other travelers would go for that.

So if you are wondering about deals and how to get them – I went directly to the website for the Festiva Americana which are really great hotels for the price in Mexico, Central and South America and clicked on “book a package” then pick some dates, but you have to play with the dates and as you do the price changes and make sure you play with the airlines to -  BTW SCREW Continental Airline those bastards have lost my luggage more than any other airline I’ve flown and that’s a lot and they’re rude asses too. You’re best prices are on Delta normally (at least from here) which also brings up your departing airport it can make a huge difference in the overall price – fly out of a international hub if you can – for me it means driving 3 hours to Nashville to an major airport but that 3 hour drive saves me over a $1000 in airfare that I’d pay flying out of a regional airport, it’s a drive I can make for a $1000.00!

A word about hotels – I like nice hotels but I don’t like fancy expensive hotels after all you’re on vacation and you aren’t going to be spending a lot time in the room and if you are all you need is a bed (knowhatImean) – so while there are some really great hotels out there I’d rather spend my money on something better than a room I’m rarely in – I generally leave the hotel in the morning and I don’t return until midnight or so/ So why waste my money on a overpriced fancy hotel? Who am I trying to impress the hotel staff?

Acapulco Beach

Oh and I checked around on the regular travel deals sites for 8 days and 7 nights with round trip airfare and the rates ranged from $2800-$5000 … none of them getting close to the $1411.00 for two people I got by looking around – I also found so good deals at East Travel Resorts – I’ve never used them, I can’t endorse them and I know nothing about them other than their prices look good -  BUT they have fixed packages and I don’t like those much, maybe you do. I want to do what I want to do and not what some tour guide thinks I should do.

Safe to say I’m not going to Acapulco anytime soon so I can’t be like Elvis and have “Fun in Acapulco” – maybe Belize or Costa Rica? By the way you can rent a nice condo in Costa Rica for $400 a week. (That’s what they are asking – I bet you can bargain for less or get some perks thrown in too if you try.)

(Final note: For those of you that think I should stay here and spend my money on an America vacation – I spend my money in America every day and I my very well end up taking an American vacation but sometimes you just need to get away from everything – the news, the phone, the language, the culture all of it and do something different.)

What about this Mosque in ….

Not Ground Zero it’s not Chicago no, no, no it’s rural Western Kentucky!

WTF?

Here is the deal some time back the local chicken plant, Pilgrim’s Pride got nervous about the number of illegals they had working there – the local folks didn’t like it and it was becoming a political hot topic as not only did Pilgrim’s Pride just emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy they also had a company wide problem with illegals. So while Pilgrim’s Pride was a large employer in the area they weren’t employing locals as they employed a lot of Hispanics both legal and illegal and in a area high in unemployment this didn’t set well. Since the immigration debate was raging across the country – Pilgrim’s Pride quietly got rid of most of their Hispanic workers and replaced them with Somali workers brought in on a government refugee program – how the hell they end up in rural Kentucky I don’t know, but whatever.

So now most of the Hispanics are gone and they have been replaced by Somalis refugees. And they asked and apply for a permit to open a Mosque in a small building downtown with no parking and do this lack of parking and a small building the permit was refused on August 25, 2010 and on August 26, 2010 a Somali man allegedly tries to kidnap a 12 year old girl was arrested at the address of the purposed Mosque building. Kind of odd don’t you think? No in fairness just like every person in jail he claims he is innocent and didn’t do it – shocker there.

Side note: From my days of working around convicts I never met a single one that was guilty – so I asked them “Then way are you here?”

So here is the story – now I’m going to have to copy all of the articles from West Kentucky Star as their active links change as fast as the wind … Now, I don’t like copying full articles but if Joe, Ro, Donna or Dunker have a problem with it then call me and I’ll fix it.

From the West Kentucky Star written by Joe Jackson (not the song writer)

Board Denies Request for Somali Mosque in Mayfield
By Joe Jackson
MAYFIELD, KY – There will be no Muslim Mosque in Mayfield. The Mayfield Zoning Board on Tuesday denied a group of Somali Muslims’ request for a conditional use permit to open a Mosque in Mayfield.

The board ruled the size of the building was not big enough to hold the number of Somalis who might worship at any given time. The board also said there wasn’t adequate parking at the proposed site at 312 East Broadway.

“There’s really no off-street parking,” Commissioner Don Costello said. “There’s very limited on-street parking and the neighbors say they can’t use the spaces they’re not using. So it came down to parking and public safety.”

Pam Frizzell from New Wave Hair Salon next door to the proposed Mosque site said it would have definitely caused a parking problem for her customers.

“Our patrons have a hard time finding a place to park right now,” Frizell said. “I don’t want my customers to have to walk from two blocks away just to get their hair done.”

The proposed site only has six parking spaces and the section of the building the Somalis wanted to hold religious meetings in can only hold 40 people. City officials estimate there are between 150 and 300 Somalis in Mayfield and Graves County.

City Planner Brad Rodgers said this is the first time the city has denied a religious group a conditional use permit and he says this might not be the last we hear about the issue.

“This issue may not be over,” Rodgers said. “They could choose to go to another building. They could appeal this to the Circuit Court if they so choose. This is probably not a dead issue.”

An overflow crowd filled the council chambers of City Hall Tuesday for the public hearing. More than 100 people were turned away because there was not enough room.

No Somalis attended the hearing. Graves County Sheriff John Davis said one of the Somali petitioners showed up but was turned away by law enforcement by mistake.

Well the Somali lost that permit due to parking and building size – I know the area and that’s a valid concern also the building is very small which would be a problem for a large crowd. So what to do – maybe kidnap a child? Yea that’s it.

Somali Man Charged with Attempted Kidnapping
By Joe Jackson
MAYFIELD, KY – Mayfield police are investigating the attempted abduction of a 12-year-old girl by a Somali refugee. Police arrested 23-year-old Yusuf Hassan of Mayfield Tuesday at 312 East Broadway.

If that address sounds familiar it’s because that’s the address that a group of Somalis had sought to use as a mosque before Mayfield’s Zoning Board denied it a permit. Hassan has been charged with the attempted kidnapping of a minor.

Police say Hassan approached the girl Tuesday around 5 pm on South Sixth Street. He allegedly grabbed her on the shoulder but the girl shrugged him off. He then grabbed her around the waist and tried to take her to his car which was parked in a nearby lot. The girl broke free and ran to her mother’s workplace nearby.

Police found the car and the girl was able to identify Hassan in a photo lineup. He was arrested and lodged in the Graves County Jail. His bond is set at $100,000.

So what you think about that?

I’ve read dozens of liberal bloggers calling the folks here backwoods rednecks, hicks, inbred, racist, intolerant and about any other derogatory term you can think of – but it’s funny I didn’t here them say a single word about the attempted kidnapping of the young girl by the Somali immigrant. Weird huh?

But it not just us redneck toothless hicks in Western Kentucky denying permits for Mosque they are doing it in Chicago too…

Obamas Depleting U.S. Lobster Supply

So how much lobster are you having during these precarious economic times? What? You’ve had to cut back? No longer ordering it stuffed with crab meat, at least?

Well, if you happen to be the President of the United States or the First Lady, your lobster consumption is continuing at a robust pace.

I don’t know what it is in Obama’s world but around here lobster is about $10/lbs and you know this guy isn’t cooking his own – oh no you’re paying for it, to be bought, cooked and served. So let me ask you – when was the last time you had lobster? I mean a big meaty tail and claws – not some little bits served up in a Chinese dinner. For me and I love lobster – I could eat it every week, but I don’t think I could pin point the last time I had a lobster if I had to guess it was over a year ago in Florida and that was a Caribbean spiny lobster which lacks the big juicy meaty claws and this clown is eating it all the time – and lets not forget the Kobe beef too.

It goes on…

According to ABC’s Jake Tapper, the president savored some lobster tempura at the trendy State Road Restaurant in West Tisbury on Martha’s Vineyard. Oh, just the thought of it. If he brings some back to the White House for me, I’ll write whatever he wants.

Lobster tempura? You don’t do that to lobster – you don’t batter up and deep fry lobster and then drown it in some over powering soy based dipping sauce! That’s just wrong! For God sake it’s lobster, not popcorn shrimp.

Monday night at The Sweet Life Cafe in Oak Bluffs on the Vineyard it was the lobster pasta appetizer for the president and a surf and turf entrée – the “surf” being a lobster tail – for Mrs. Obama.

And what would the vacation to Maine in July have been without a taste of everyone’s favorite crustacean. The president did it in a little less genteel fashion that time, heading over to something called Stewman’s Downtown restaurant where he was served the “Lobster Experience” dinner – just regular lobster, corn and slaw.

Poor thing… just a regular lobster dinner with corn and slaw – what no Lobster Thermidor, Lobster Newburg – no Chilled Lobster With Mimosa Dressing… oh the humanity!

But the Obamas’ lobster experience is not confined to these shores. Michelle Obama was barely off the plane during her voyage early this month to the Spanish Riviera when, according to the Spanish press, she dived into a feast of sea bass tartare, strawberry gazpacho and sardines, and a main course of lobster with seaweed risotto.

Oh where is my Thurston Howell III voice at … sea bass tartare (that’s minced raw meat), strawberry gazpacho and sardines, and a main course of lobster with seaweed risotto – eww I hope the strawberry gazpacho and sardines were two different dishes – but at least risotto and lobster goes together. However I’d prefer an al dente orzo over risotto – but what do I know I’m just a hick from the country eating mudbugs and gator meat.

Michelle enjoyed the repast so much that she was right back at it on August 14 during the Obamas’ two-day Panama City, Fla photo-op vacation. There, at the Firefly restaurant, it was more lobster for Michelle.

Has this hog had a look in the mirror? She needs to lay of the lobster dripping in ghee and look into a diet heavy on the tofu because her “see-food” diet isn’t working. My God doesn’t she know there are children in Africa that have no ass.

The Obamas were supposed to be showing support for the good people of the oil spill-stricken Gulf, eating their seafood and so forth. So the big question is, was it a Caribbean lobster or one shipped down from Maine?

And who knows what lobster delicacies the White House chef is whipping up for them in between vacations?

No wonder the Russians just started fueling the Iranian nuclear reactor at Bushehr. When President Medvedev was here, Obama took him for burgers.

Well at least it wasn’t Borscht otherwise we’d be looking at mutually assured destruction right now.

Here is the deal – Obama knows he is an one term’er and he is going to milk the perks of being president for all it’s worth – I’d expect to see him and lard-ass take a lot more vacation before he is gone. I think Obama thought the job was like the campaign trail – all talk, adoring crowds and play with no real responsibilities and now that he is in office he doesn’t want it so the easiest thing to do is go on vacation and he does that quite well.

Question is how many more lobsters will be murdered at the hands of the Obama’s – can’t they eat spam?

(Pay attention at the 0:36 mark)

Dissecting the APObama

Obama a Muslim? Rumors gain steam, defying facts

By HILLEL ITALIE
The Associated Press
Thursday, August 19, 2010; 10:00 PM

NEW YORK — “President Obama is a Muslim.” “He’s not an American citizen.” “He wasn’t even born here.”

None of this is true. But to surprising levels, it is believed.

And your proof is what? What Obama said? Oh he would never lie…

Blame it on the media, or on human nature. All presidents deal with image problems – that they’re too weak or too belligerent, too far left or far right. But Obama also faces questions over documented facts, in part because some people identify more with the rumormongers than the debunkers.

Questions over documented facts? No there are questions over documents and that’s the facts – there are none. Where are the college transcripts? Why didn’t the editor of the Harvard Law Review ever write a article? Where are the records from Occidental? The list goes on – the guy has a resume you could put on a Post-it.

“Trust and distrust – that explains almost all of it,” says Nicholas DiFonzo, professor of psychology at the Rochester Institute of Technology and an expert on rumor and gossip research. “We are in such a highly polarized political environment. Our country is sorting itself into more closely knit, opposing factions each year” – factions, DiFonzo suggests, that in turn become “echo chambers” for factoids that aren’t fact at all.

Again this professor guy is assuming his facts are right thus playing into his own rhetoric.

Nearly one in five people, or 18 percent, said they think Obama is Muslim, up from the 11 percent who said so in March 2009, according to a poll released Thursday. The proportion who correctly say he is a Christian is just 34 percent, down from 48 percent in March of last year.

Actually it’s one in five and the percentage is 24 percent. (You note that this Time article says “mistakenly believes” – they don’t know anymore than I do)

The White House even felt compelled to respond with a terse knockdown from spokesman Bill Burton: “The president is obviously a Christian. He prays every day.”

And so do Muslims, Buddhist, Taoist and 100′s of other religions – so tell me Bill what so obvious about that.

Obama is the Christian son of a Kenyan Muslim father and a Kansas mother. Born in Hawaii, he lived from ages 6 to 10 in predominantly Muslim Indonesia with his mother and Indonesian stepfather. His full name, Barack Hussein Obama, sounds Muslim to many.

Interestingly they fail to mention that his Indonesian father Lolo Soetoro was devout Muslim nor the fact his step-sister is a philosophically Buddhist.

Confusion about Obama’s religion was common, and sometimes encouraged, during the 2008 campaign. An Associated Press photograph that circulated on the Internet, and was posted on The Drudge Report, showed Obama dressed in traditional local garments – a white turban and a wraparound white robe – during a visit to Kenya in 2006. Democratic rival Hillary Rodham Clinton may have contributed through her response to a question, during a “60 Minutes” interview, about whether he was a Muslim. “There’s nothing to base that on,” she said. “As far as I know.”

Well certainly 20 years in Jeremiah Wrights church clears things up about Obama faith…

Others have helped keep rumors about Obama’s religion and birth alive. Conservative commentators including radio talk show host Michael Savage have repeated debunked claims that Obama attended a radical Muslim madrassa in Indonesia. Rush Limbaugh has facetiously referred to “Imam Obama” in recent days, and last year praised a woman who at a Delaware town hall meeting questioned Obama’s citizenship. Lou Dobbs gave significant air time to such “birther” claims on CNN – despite his own insistence that he believed Obama was born in the U.S.

Hell Obama keeps the rumor alive with his actions, his refusal to release records and his pandering to the Muslim world while still two years in Washington has yet to go to church.

The new survey, conducted by the nonpartisan Pew Research Center and its affiliated Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life, is based on interviews conducted before the controversy over whether Muslims should be permitted to construct a mosque near the World Trade Center site. Obama has said he believes Muslims have the right to build an Islamic center there, though he’s also said he won’t take a position on whether they should actually build it.

Isn’t stating a position taking a position? What kind of asinine double talk is that?

We have never been without misperceptions, but they are speeded and multiplied in the Internet age. Last month, right-wing bloggers – citing unnamed sources within the Laredo Police Department in Texas – reported that the Mexican drug cartel Zetas had captured two Laredo ranches. The story was picked up by author-pundit Michelle Malkin and other conservatives.

Inquiries from local media and the liberal Web site Talking Points Memo turned up different news: The raids never happened.

What the hell does that have to do with “Is Obama a Muslim?” I’m A.D.D. and can focus better than that.

“The Internet has made it worse,” says Lori Robertson, managing editor of the website FactCheck.org, a nonpartisan project run under the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania. “Any of these rumors are more rampant, and there’s more stuff about them – blogs writing about conspiracy theories. People are exposed to it more.”

Robertson says her organization has been asked hundreds of times about Obama’s religion, even after FactCheck published an explanatory article in early 2008 called “Sliming Obama.” It focused on the chain e-mail that many believe helped spread the lie.

Who fact checks FactCheck.org – never let a weasel guard the hen-house

Despite what the e-mail claimed, FactCheck.org has noted that Obama was sworn into office as a U.S. senator using the Bible instead of the Quran; a photograph was posted to prove it. FactCheck also posted videos of Obama reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in the Senate, in an attempt to counter claims that he refused.

Well gee I’m relieved he is a true red, white and blue American then – there is a picture and video online… case closed.

Still, the questions about Obama’s faith didn’t stop.

Don’t worry there are more questions about Obama than his faith that won’t stop, plenty more.

Let there be pain…

I know I haven’t posted in a few day – there has a been a lot going on that I really wish wasn’t, but tis life. I will not get into the who, what, when, where and why’s I will only say I pity the fool that crosses me.

So anyway, I stated this last week…

I don’t know about you but I’m sick of working my ass off to pay Federal government employees to set around and surf for porn, I’m sick of watching the Obama’s go on vacation after vacation and sending the tax payer the bill, I’m sick of seeing politicians go to Washington an average Joe (or Jane) and come back disconnected millionaires,  I’m sick of knowing that the average Federal government employee that works for us lowly tax payers makes on average twice what that of the average American and I’m sick of paying for the dead-weight and dredges of society to set around with their hand out looking for more. So I say start trimming the fat, start culling the slackers, start cleaning the house and let the pain begin – we tax payers have suffered long enough so to hell with share the wealth – it’s time to share the pain.

It seems every time the government talk about pain and sacrifice it never applies to them, it never applies to those with their hands out, it never applies to the career politician and it never applies to the L.I.F.E.R federal workers – (what’s a LIFER you may ask – it’s a military term for “Lazy Inconsiderate F***er’s Expecting Retirement”) Nope it only applies to the already over taxed worker in the 53 percentile that is just trying to get ahead. Well it’s time it stops and it’s time to start the sharing the wealth of the pain with those in Washington and the ones with their grubby little paws out chanting gemme, gemme, gemme. Let us check out a few links…

On occasion you’ll hear them talk about cutting entitlements out one side of their mouth while talking about expanding them out the other.

Dems may use food stamp money to pay for Michelle Obama’s nutrition initiative

Democratic leaders have voiced the hope that they will be able to stop them in future legislation.

And that’s all you need to know – they talk a big game and then quietly back track into wasting more money all a long. So while the Dems talk about cutting food stamps, just to turn around and talk about not cutting them – across the aisle the GOP wants to end anchor babies which I think most of us are all for according to most polls.

Boehner has said ending anchor babies is worth considering…

Boehner: End to Birthright Citizenship ‘Worth Considering’

House Minority Leader John Boehner on Sunday said he’s open to talks on changing the U.S. Constitution — or at least the way it’s interpreted — so that U.S.-born children of illegal immigrants are not automatically U.S. citizens.

“I think it’s worth considering,” Boehner said.

It’s not worth considering, it’s worth doing – no other country on earth allows you to become a citizen just by being born there – its time to end anchor babies. It’s time to send the illegal back from where they came and if the Federal government won’t do it, it’s time the states take charge and do the job the American Federal government doesn’t want to do – to toss their own turn a phrase in their face.

Anchor babies 8% of births in U.S. annually

As the phenomenon of so-called “anchor babies” — infants born to illegal aliens within the United States and its territories that automatically become citizens — becomes more of an election issue in many localities, a Pew poll reveals that 8 percent of babies born each year in the U.S. are anchor babies.

According to the Pew Hispanic Center, approximately 340,000 of the 4.3 million babies born in the United States in 2008 were the children of illegal aliens, many of whom emanate from Mexico.

In my world that qualifies as a invasion – and for me it doesn’t matter what country they come from Mexico, Canada, China, England etc – come to this country legally or get out – period.

And that’s just the start of it illegal cost the taxpayer an unbelievable amount of money.

Staggering Cost Of Illegal Aliens In America Taxpayers Taken To The Cleaners

This is not new it’s from 2008

The NRC found that the average immigrant household receives $13,326 in federal welfare and pays $10,664.00 in federal taxes. Thus, American taxpayers shell out $2,682.00 for each immigrant household.

In addition, the report showed that immigrants affect 15 different executive agencies of the U.S. government.

Earned Income Tax Credit-fraud is rampant and IRS does little to verify existence of children. Clean Air and Climate Change-these goals are unattainable as long as US population grows-driven by unending immigration. Emergency medical treatment-US taxpayer money provides $250 million a year to help hospitals defray costs for illegal aliens. Bureau of Land Management-the Interior Department spends $1 million to mitigate environmental damage done by illegals crossing US southern border. Migrant educational grants-intended to help states educate children of illegal workers. More fraud from over-counting. Office of Foreign Labor Certification-immigrant workers depress wages for US citizens resulting in declines in federal revenues at $100 billion annually.

So taking into account the amount of money being wasted on illegals – it’s time to cull the dead weight from the multitude of government hand out programs, it’s time to reduce food stamps and limit them to a few basic choices, it’s time to end government housing, government payments and provide those that are already lazy a way to stay that way. It’s not just illegals it’s mostly moocher Americans too.

It’s time to end endless unemployment do to tax and spend, anti business liberals – I have people ask me on occasion if I’d hire them and pay them cash so they can continue to draw their unemployment and they want $10, $15, $20 hour cash which is good money around here – to which I say if I hire you then you are no longer unemployed and if I find out you’re working for cash I’ll report you and who ever employs you as you are stealing from me – so you can get off the government tit and stop trying to double dip. Seriously who wants to hire anyone that has been slacking for over two years? I know I don’t.

But what do the idiot liberals do, extent unemployment again and again enabling the entitlement mentality to become ingrained.

These people in the White House promised that if the government spent a trillion of your dollars on stimulus unemployment would NOT go over 8% – well it did and it remains there and while the Moron in charge continues to blame Bush that excuse is running thin even with his base, most people don’t want excuses they want results…

Jobless millions signal death of the American dream for many

The headline jobless figure of 9.5% is bad enough but does not begin to convey the problem as it fails to measure those who have stopped looking for work. Over the past three months alone more than a million Americans have fallen into that category: effectively giving up hope of finding a job and dropping out of the official statistics. Such cases now number some 5.9 million and their ranks are likely to grow as millions more find their jobless status becoming a permanent state of hopelessness. Surveys show that with each passing week on the dole their chances of finding a job get slimmer.

How that HOPE and Change working out for you?

But aside from those that want to work verses those that want to mooch off the tit – the reality is nothing this man child has done has worked because he is clueless to basic business intelligence. Good Lord the man child never even had a paper route better yet ran an actual business.

So before I go all A.D.D. and get off the subject at hand I have to ask if Obama says America can no longer be the economic super power of the world, the driving force behind the worlds engine then how is it we can continue to afford to pay people to be worthless slugs? The money is not there, the money has been spend and the days of being spend happy drunkards are over it’s time to sober up cut the spending and pay the bills.

But to be clear…

Is every one getting help from the government a worthless mooch – no they are not but it’s a lot easier to find a system gamer or a fraud than it is to find someone who actually needs help – I say let charities and churches help those actually in need until we weed out the worthless as they are in a better position to weed out the fakes quickly without bureaucracy. The government on the other hand wants as many as dependent as they can get because when the government controls your money they control your life and political cowards want nothing more than a dependent masses – freedom is a threat to tyranny.

The pain of relearning self reliance must begin, it’s one thing to have a safety net for when you fall it’s another entirely to land on a Sleep Comfort bed – it’s been my experience in life that when you fall it hurts and you learn not to trip again – there are no lessons being taught today, they is no real pain in failure and there should be – sometime the failure is your fault, sometimes it’s not – that’s life and life is not fair and the soon people begin to relearn that basic fact the quicker this country gets back on the road.

Obama says it’s the Republicans that drove us into a ditch and now they want the keys back, he claim we are back on the road and he doesn’t think they need the keys back – well if this is the road I’d love to see their map, but I’ve got a pretty good idea what map they’re using and you’ll never get anyplace in America using a map of Europe or Russia where it seems Obama thinks we are.

Where does the money come from? Not Obama.

Where are the crackers?

30,000 line up for housing vouchers, some get rowdy

Thirty thousand people showed up to receive Section 8 housing applications in East Point Wednesday, suffering through hours in the hot sun, angry flare-ups in the crowd and lots of frustration and confusion for a chance to receive a government-subsidized apartment.

The massive event sometimes descended into a chaotic mob scene filled with anger and impatience. Some 62 people needed medical attention and 20 of them were transported to a hospital, authorities said. A baby went into a seizure in the heat and was stabilized at a hospital. People were removed on stretchers and when a throng of people who had been waiting hours in a line were told to move to another line, people started pushing, shoving and cursing, witnesses said.

I guess the loony left will call me a racist if I point out that the crowd appears to be 100% Black, so I won’t.

Kim Lemish, executive director of the East Point Housing Authority, said the event marked the first time the city has offered Section 8 housing applications since 2002. The waiting list that lasted eight years had depleted, she said, and the agency was beginning a new one. So people braved all the physical difficulties just to get on a waiting list that could keep them waiting for years.

Lemish said the agency had expected about 10,000 people but three times as many showed up. Many were just accompanying those looking for an application. Some 13,000 applications were handed out.

(Said in my best Oliver Twist voice) Please sir, may I have some more handouts?

You know I could go on a long rant about enabling people to be dependent slugs but I’d be preaching to the choir and unlike the slacker that have all day to stand around looking for handouts I have a job and there are people that depend on my job for there job and people that depend on them to eat so I don’t have time to worry about the poor and downtrodden that do nothing to better their own life’s on their own without a handout from those that work and pay taxes.

Facts vs. Propaganda

First the FACTS -

Fed set to downgrade outlook for US

The Federal Reserve is set to downgrade its assessment of US economic prospects when it meets on Tuesday to discuss ways to reboot the flagging recovery.

Faced with weak economic data and rising fears of a double-dip recession, the Federal Open Market Committee is likely to ensure its policy is not constraining growth and to use its statement to signal greater concern about the economy. It is, however, unlikely to agree big new steps to boost growth.

From the White House the PROPAGANDA …

A Summer of Recovery

With tens of thousands of projects funded and millions of Americans on the job today, it’s hard to believe that it’s only been 16 months since President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. And with so many jobs saved and created already, you might think that the Recovery Act’s greatest impact is behind us.

But it’s not.

As the summer heats up, it is becoming clear that it could quite possibly be the most active season yet when it comes to recovering our economy. There are Recovery Act-funded projects breaking ground across the country that are creating quality jobs for Americans and economic growth for businesses, large and small.

This summer is sure to be a Summer of Economic Recovery.

From The Hill the assessment …

Obama tries to sell ‘recovery summer’ amid slow economy

President Barack Obama and his team are trying to sell Americans on an economic recovery this summer, but the economy is stubbornly refusing to cooperate.

Obama and his Cabinet officials will fan out across the country over the next few days to spread the message to voters about how effective their $787 billion recovery plan has been, an effort they’re calling “recovery summer.”

The administration’s message has run into several negative economic headwinds that have led to worries the economy is at risk of entering a double-dip recession, not a recovery.

So while Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Reid and the rest of the lying scumbags in the Democrat Party try to claim we are in recovery – the reality speak otherwise. Meanwhile while you scrap and struggle to get buy the Obama’s live large on your money.

Hillary Clinton the BIG SPENDER

Let them eat falafel

Clinton texts a $10 donation to Pakistan flood relief

Talk about putting your money where your mouth is. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton texted a $10 donation to flood relief efforts in Pakistan on Wednesday, saying that she’s leading by example and pressing Americans to donate money

Funny how the democrats give out billions and billions of your tax dollars and then proclaim you aren’t giving enough and should be patriotic and give more – well leave it to Hillary to lead the way in giving with a massive $10.00 donation to the Pakistan flood relief effort. Meanwhile she and Billy Boy dropped something along the line of $3 to $5 million on their homely child Chelsea’s wedding.

If that is not the most pathetic thing I’ve heard – a multi-millionaire bragging about a $10.00 donation, but it’s probably more than the Obama’s gave and damn sure more than Biden gave.

EPA wants to ban dust?

Yes I know there is a millions other things going on and things of bigger political interest but I haven’t had time to breakdown every little stupid thing coming from Washington right now – there are ethics violations, pushes for cap and trade, pushes for this or that, somebody saying something stupid and while you’re not looking the EPA says it’s want to regulate dust…

EPA to Crack Down on Farm Dust

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is considering a crackdown on farm dust, so senators have signed a letter addressing their concerns on the possible regulations.

Farm dust – the EPA is going to crack down on dirt – you’ve got to be %@#^ing kidding me. It’s freaking dirt, earth and there is little you can do about it. The EPA is only second to Unions in job destruction in this country – they come up with some of the absolute dumbest, most insane regulations one could dream up – take my line of work for example if I work on a house build before 1978 that could have lead paint – according to the EPA I have to use a HEPA filter air purifiers, 6 mil plastic to seal off rooms with 3″ wide seal tape, I have to use a clean suit and a certified breather and eye protection just to cut a damn board that COULD have lead paint on it and after I cut the board I have to call a certified lead tester at my damn expense to test the area for lead dust and if it test positive I have to have the area cleaned again and pay for another testing – and if I don’t do any of this crap I could receive a $37,500.00 fine PER DAY. Now does that sound pro business to you? No, no and hell no the EPA is as anti business as Obama is incompetent.

So it you live on a farm be aware that the EPA is now trying to regulate dust – which I can’t wait to see them try to enforce – I’ve heard of some stupid stuff but this is up there.

I could go on and on regarding the EPA and most of their stupid ideas – but I’m tired and my head can’t take anymore stupidity today.

2011 Chevy Volt aka the Chevy Joke

I know everyone is bitching about the Arizona Law – I’m to not worried about the Supreme court will overturn the court 5-4 so while this is a serious matter everyone else is covering it. So I’m going to talk about the glorious new Chevy Volt.

Did you see this piece of crap? The car that Dopey was pushing and talking about like it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. The NEW all electric Chevy Volt – yeehah and it retails for only $41,000.00 or a little over  a $1000.00 a miles drive distances.

Chevy Volt: Are Electric Cars Too Expensive?

When General Motors Corp. said its new Chevrolet Volt electric car would cost $41,000 and up, many consumers and industry insiders winced. Some of them consider anything over $40,000 serious money for a car, and they may not think the Volt is worth the premium over other economy models.

But here is the deal and I’ll admit I thieved part of this idea from a comment on Hot Air – a good comment they just had some MPG data slightly off.

This Chevy Volt is $41,000.00 in addition to gas guzzling truck of which I’m going to get another one (perhaps a big 7.3 Diesel with a lift bucket on it – I’m not kidding) and we have a little Honda Civic Hybrid for road trips that’s gets on average 40+ MPG (yes Looney Liberals even conservative can drive Hybrids – we just don’t get smug about it.) So the Hybrid was bought when gas was cheap between Katrina and the spike for (I think) for around $16,000.00 – OK those are the numbers.

Got it… $16K car verses $41K car

Chevy Volt $41,000.00
Honda Civic Hybrid – $16,000.00

The difference – $25,000.00 and as of today gas was $2.53/gal here – so now let’s divide $25K by $2.53 that come to 9881.42 gallons of gas – so calculate that the Honda Civic Hybrid that gets 40+ MPG so on nearly 10,000 gallons of gas you could drive 395,256.91 miles (or all the way to the moon and 2/3 of the way back). Now take those 395,256.91 miles and divide that by the 20,000 a year we put on the car and it would only take 19.76 year to break even if you bought a Volt – well were the hell do I sign up to buy one.

BUT… BUT I didn’t even factor in the amount of money you have to spend to charge the car and exactly where would you charge the car while at work and just who is going to let you plug your car in to charge every day with out paying them and the very fact that electricity come from where? Fossil fuel, that’s where and did I mention that this snazzy new $41,000.00  Chevy Volt has a range of up to 40 miles?  40 MILES!! And if you read the fine print of the Volt it says …

2011 VOLT

Volt is an electric car that uses gas to create its own electricity. Plug it in, let it charge overnight, and it’s ready to run on a pure electric charge for up to 40 miles(3) — gas and emissions free. After that, Volt keeps going, even if you can’t plug it in. Volt uses a range-extending gas generator that produces enough energy to power it for hundreds of miles on a single tank of gas.

Whoa it still uses gas in addition to it’s fossil fuels powered electricity? What the hell – how GREEN is that? And exactly what’s that little disclaimer (3) after the “40 miles” … hmmm?

3
Assumes fully charged battery. Actual range depends on driving habits, weather conditions, terrain and the operation of electrical features in the vehicle. Vehicle features and performance capabilities subject to change without notice.

So what they are saying is provide you have a perfectly flat and straight road on a sunny day and you have a full charge you can get 40 miles out of it, otherwise forget it.

So after looking at the specs, the numbers, the facts and the cost I’d say the Chevy Volt would be better called the Chevy Joke. Get’s yours today.

The folks that bbuy the Volt are the same smug selfish elitist that buy the IPad
