Beck’s 8-28 Rally thoughts and things

So did you go to or watch the 8-28 event that Glenn Beck had? I watched it on C-SPAN – I would have liked to have gone but time, money and scheduling wouldn’t permit it, but as soon as I’m caught up I will have nothing to do which is the joy and stress of self employment – and I DO NOT need any more stress right now, but that’s a story for another day.

So anyway I’m watching Glenn on TV  Saturday and Glenn being Glenn was choking back tears and putting forth the doctrine that we need to get back to God – I’m not one to talk a lot about God and religion after all it is said you never talk about religion and politics and I’ve alienated enough people talking about both, so I tend to stick to just one volatile subject – politics. As you know Glenn’s rally was more about faith and religion than it was politics and that’s fine. His current mission is “faith, hope and charity” and I get how those play into rebuilding America. Then Monday morning I was going to stay home a little later and work on my books – so I when to “Streaming Radio Guide” to stream Glenn’s show and it wasn’t there. Well it was there under conservative shows as it had been for years and at the top of the page I saw a link to a post from the guy (Art Stone) that started Streaming Radio Guide…

Where did Glenn Beck go?

Today Glenn told us we have to choose.  Either you believe that the U.S. is based on Deuteronomy and the Law of Moses or you are an enemy of God and the United States.

When any group or person says “You’re with me or you’re against me”, I’m against you.   Glenn is now way over the line in turning his program into a religious preaching forum.

You can now find his program under the category Religion.

Well I watched the rally and that is not the message I came away with and judging by the 100′s of comments to the post he made I’d say a lot of other people failed to hear that message too. While I could go back and quote sections of Glenn’s rally and say I THINK he meant this or that it would be pointless. My take on the rally was that we as a nation regardless of religious or non-religious beliefs need to get back to the fundamental principles that made this country great in the first place.

So based on Art Stone’s rather rigid ideology of “You’re with me or you’re against me” … I think Streaming Radio Guide is the great site ever and you are either with me or against me on that.” What say you Art? (Art by default would have to be against me – it’s you’re own words.)

I digress…

Now granted it at times I think Beck wanders too far down the preaching path and injects more religion than politics into his show but it’s his show he can do what he want’s… the irony is that a so called Preacher Al “Not-So” Sharpton had a rally too and claimed that Glenn Beck was desecrating the day. Disrespecting the day? That 8-28 was their day, that Beck was destroying the honor of Martin Luther King Jr – and to add to the irony Beck had one of King’s relatives speak at the Restoring Honor Rally – there were no King’s relatives at Sharpton’s Rally and just what does ‘Not-So’ Sharpton mean when he refers to 8-28 as “their” day? Who are “they”? The blacks? Somehow I don’t think that was Dr King’s message – one of division and separation in fact I thought that was what he was against. Maybe Sharpton knows more than every one else does, but I doubt it.

Sharpton and the Main Stream Media went on to criticize Beck and Sharpton appeared on O-Reilly and for once Bill called Sharpton on his BS… complaining that there were to many White people at Becks Rally – but no one pointed out that Sharpton’s Rally was predominately Black – but really would you expect racial diversity in a rally from a well known poverty pimp and race hustler.

At Lincoln Memorial, a Call for Religious Rebirth

Across town, several hundred people, most of them black, packed a football field at Dunbar High School to commemorate Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

“We come here because the dream has not been achieved,” said the Rev. Al Sharpton, the civil rights activist. “We’ve had a lot of progress. But we have a long way to go.”

Referring to Mr. Beck’s event, he added, “They want to disgrace this day.”

Glenn Beck crowd: Not so white as advertised

Here is a question – MLK spoke 47 years ago and I was 3 days old so I didn’t go – Sharpton has had 47 year to hold a rally and he hasn’t until Beck held his – why?

Al Sharpton aside I think something like a half a million people attended Beck Rally (Sharpton had a few 100) another 100,000 plus watched in on UpStream and I have no idea how many watched on C-SPAN as I did – make note that C-SPAN was real careful not to show the size of the crowd. But aside from not hearing about one single arrest it would seem that those evil right-wing conservatives that attended Beck’s rally left the DC Mall cleaning than they found it.

Glenn Beck’s Happy Warriors

After the event, walking from the Lincoln Memorial’s reflecting pool through Constitution Gardens, this reporter scanned 360 degrees and could not see a scrap of trash anywhere. Participants and volunteers had collected all their refuse and left it piled neatly in bags around the public garbage cans. Near Constitution Avenue, I did encounter one stray piece of paper—but too old and faded to have been left that day.

How dare they pick up after themselves – remember what the mall looked like after Obama love fest in Jan 2009 – remember? Check out the way-back machine to see. Quite the difference between tax paying conservatives and handout hippies of progressive liberals isn’t it?

All in all the Beck rally was in my opinion anticlimactic on TV as most events are it was just one of those things that you really had to be at to get the full effect – the real entertainment has been watching the left try and make head or tails out of the event all these people being nice to one another and not demanding handouts… crazy.

Oh one last thought – Obama said he didn’t pay any attention to the rally, but the people that attended are full of anxiety – whatever Barry. You know this event made Dopey drop a load in his Huggies.

Why does the White House have a fence and the Nation does not?

I have a simple question… why is there a fence around the White House and armed men to keep you the legal American citizen out, but we can’t have the same security around the countries borders to keep the illegals out? Why?

Again sorry about the flurry of short post – I’ve been busier than a one legged man in a ass kicking contest.

McCartney Bashes Bush

McCartney Bashes Bush: “It’s Great To Have A President Who Knows What A Library Is”

Tell me Paul why do you care? You’re not even an American citizen and I’m pretty sure Bush knows what a library is, furthermore I bet he know what patriotism is too. Something your boy Obama is clueless about… now scamper back to jolly ole England and STFU – no one ask you.

Boehner to Bashing Beatle: Apologize!

When did decorum go out of style?

“Like millions of other Americans, I have always had a good impression of Paul McCartney and thought of him as a classy guy, but I was surprised and disappointed by the lack of grace and respect he displayed at the White House,” Boehner told HUMAN EVENTS.  “I hope he’ll apologize to the American people for his conduct which demeaned him, the White House and President Obama.”

Holder to do Criminal probe on BP but not White House

Feds open criminal probe of Gulf oil spill

Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday that federal authorities have opened criminal and civil investigations into the nation’s worst oil spill,

And Eric Holder also has the power to let Black Panthers guilty of voter intimidation go free.

“We will closely examine the actions of those involved in the spill. If we find evidence of illegal behavior, we will be extremely forceful in our response,” Holder said in New Orleans.

Hey Eric why don’t you closely examine the actions of those involved in the Joe Sestak bribe to drop out of the Senate race in Pennsylvania? I mean really Eric if you are going to be super cop then do you damn job regarding government corruption at the highest levels – that is unless you are corrupt too?

But keep in mind this Department of Justice under Eric Holder is the same one the is not fully prepared for WMD attack…

Report says DOJ not fully prepared for WMD attack

The Justice Department has failed to put together an adequate plan for responding to an attack involving weapons of mass destruction, the inspector general at the agency said Tuesday.

In a new report, the IG said the department does not assign a single entity or individual responsibility for managing a response to a WMD incident.

Oh the IG will not assign responsibility? I will… Holder is the AG, ergo he is in charge which means he is responsible on a Department level and since Obama appointed Holder, he is responsible on the governmental level – guess the IG needs a little training on the flow of responsibility.

But it would appear this is becoming a pattern with this White House to stack the congressional deck with those friendly to Obama and bride out those that are not…

Romanoff confirms White House job discussions

U.S. Senate candidate Andrew Romanoff said publicly for the first time Wednesday that a White House deputy discussed three specific jobs that “might be available” if Romanoff dropped a primary challenge to a fellow Democrat, Sen. Michael Bennet.

So if it happened once and now it happened twice – one can only guess it’s happened multiple times, who will come forward next?

Now ask this question of your liberal friends – what if George Bush and Karl Rove had done this. How much bat shit would the democrats and the drive-by media be throwing? It would be wall to wall 24/7 coverage of White House corruption and back room deals – freaking hypocrites.

So I guess one way of looking at it is Obama is creating jobs to keep his buddies in the congress – not exactly what America was HOPING for huh?

KY: Rand Paul WINS! PA: Arlen Specter is GONE!

Rand Paul wins the Kentucky GOP primary over Trey Grayson – well actually Rand slaughter Grayson in the primary 59% to 35%. He will now face Jack CONway (Maybe still to close to call) in the fall some might remember that Jack Conway has his own version of the US Constitution which will be an issue in the general election… but we’ll get more into that later. I am enjoying reading the liberal and establishment republicans as they freak out and call Paul’s win “troubling

For now CONGRATULATIONS Rand see on the campaign trail!

In other good news Arlen Specter is GONE and Blanche Lincoln has to do a run off election which will cost her.

What a Sh!tty Senator

How Many Times Did Sen. Levin Say ‘Sh**ty Deal’?

Watching the Goldman Sachs hearing, you had to wonder — is it taking place in the Senate or South Park?

Sen. Carl Levin (D., Mich.), quoted, paraphrased and practically freestyle rapped Goldman e-mails that involved the words “sh**ty deal.”

OK, I understand quoting a e-mail for the record, but to incorporate it into a holier than thou lecture not 2, not 5, not 10, but 11 times as an US Senator is an absolute disgrace… ask anyone that knows me I can curse as well as the next guy – but I understand something this loser Democrat Senator doesn’t understand – time, place and manner and a Senator in a public congressional hearing is not the time, not the place and it’s bad manners.

What’s with these Democrat and respect for the offices they hold (for now) – you’ve got Dopey calling Kanye (however he spells his goofy name) West a “Jackass” – sure he is but the President should rise above that, then you have Plugs Biden calling the ObamaCare bill a”big f*cking deal” – classy Joe – now this clown, Levin is just going out of the way to use the word “shitty” – what a shitty Senator, hell what a shitty government.

But really are you surprised the Progressive Democrats lack class?

Poster child for term limits

Actually there are many poster children for term limits, but Charlie is the poster child of the moment…

The New York Post reveals that for the past 20 years, Rep. Charles Rangel “has owned a beachfront villa in a sun-drenched Dominican Republic resort, yet has only sporadically declared income on the property in federal filings.”

Rangel said he was going to “temporarily” step down as Chairmen on the House Ways and Means Committee – one problem with that is that the House rules don’t allow for temporarily stepping down – you are either in or out period no middle ground, no gray area.

Remember this guy works for you and so I just have to ask … where is your tropical island beachfront private villa?

Why bye Bayh?

Seems a bit odd that a sure win third term Senator from Indiana Even Bayh would say goodbye, so long, and thanks for all the fish. So what’s up with that?

Democratic Sen. Bayh won’t seek re-election

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. Senator Evan Bayh, a popular Democrat seen as having a good shot at a third term, said Monday he won’t run again because of the kind of bitter politicking that has put President Barack Obama’s whole agenda in jeopardy.

Bayh of Indiana said that “narrow ideology” was ruling lawmakers’ decisions, thwarting useful work at a time when a bipartisan approach was urgently needed, and sapping his desire to remain in Congress.

Well that’s all true, but I think Bayh is considering a 2012 run for the White House and if he gets out now he can declare himself clean of the Obama filth… after all what was Bayh’s parting shot in his announcement?

that “narrow ideology” was ruling lawmakers’ decisions, thwarting useful work at a time when a bipartisan approach was urgently needed

Of that’s not a stiff arm on the Obama administration I’m not sure what is and not to mention his $13 million campaign war chest to start on which would be early 2011.

It’s only a million bucks or so, what’s the big deal?

Did you see the article? I’m shock it came from the mainstream media.

Congress Went to Denmark, You Got the Bill

For 15 Democratic and 6 Republican Congressmen, food and rooms for two nights cost $4,406 tax dollars each. That’s $2,200 a day – more than most Americans spend on their monthly mortgage payment.

Oh, $2,200.00 that’s about what I spend when I go on vacation.

Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., is a key climate change player. He went to Copenhagen last year. Last week, we asked him about the $2,200-a-day bill for room and food.

“I can’t believe that,” Rep. Waxman said. “I can’t believe it, but I don’t know.”

Oh you don’t know how much you’re spending Waxman aka Phantom of the Opera? Well I understand I never keep up with my expenses either, I just spend, spend, spend and when I run out, I print some more

Pelosi’s office did offer an explanation for the high room charges. Those who stayed just two nights were charged a six-night minimum at the five-star Marriott. One staffer said, they strongly objected to no avail. You may ask how they’ll negotiate a climate treaty, if they can’t get a better deal on hotel rooms.

You know what, that’s a damn good question is you can’t haggle with a Marriott how in hell are you going to come to an agreement on the Climate Change with 192 other countries? I mean really I have never stayed in a hotel where I didn’t dicker over the price and get a reduced rate… jeez I dicker over every price I pay and the most powerful government in the world, of all time can’t even get a discount at a Marriott? No wonder we’re $14 trillion in debt.

Flights weren’t cheap, either. Fifty-nine House and Senate staff flew commercial during the Copenhagen rush. They paid government rates — $5-10,000 each — totaling $408,064. Add three military jets — $168,351 just for flight time — and the bill tops $1.1 million dollars — not including all the Obama administration officials who attended: well over 60.

I’m sorry what? $5,000-$10,000 each for a plane ticket? Excuse me? I just went to Orbitz and booked a round trip ticket from my local airport to Copenhagen for 3 days and the ticket price was $705 + $380 taxes & fees = $1,085 USD per person and the government rate is $5,000-$10,000 each? WTF over? These people are idiots.

And on the heels of all the climate-gate, glacier-gate, email-gate, junk science-gate, hoax-gate it would appear my long held belief of global warming is a fraud and all that money was wasted.

Who to support in the Kentucky Senate race… hmmm?

As many may know Republican Jim Bunning of Kentucky is retiring from the Senate… actually he is being forced out but be that as it may I will admit Bunning can be a bit of a loose wire at times and he like so many in Washington have been there long enough. So who to replace him?

Not even going to waste my time on Jack Conway and Daniel Mongiardo both from the Democrat Party of Lies they both try to portray themselves as moderate blue dog democrats which couldn’t be further from the truth… they are progressive liberals plain and simple. Do you really want to put another person from the party of Nancy Pelosi, Harry “Negro” Reid, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Barack Obama etc in Washington…. really do you want that? I don’t, haven’t we seen enough of what their mentality can do to America, the economy and freedoms?

So anyway what about the Republicans?

First up we have Bill Johnson, he seems a nice enough guy but let’s face it he hasn’t got a chance. Sorry Bill just don’t see it in the cards for you this time around… perhaps start at the state level. I like his positions and his conservative attitude but the reality is he just doesn’t have the machine in place to run a statewide race.

Ok Trey Grayson… a former Democrat is currently trying to paint himself as a staunch conservative available to the unwashed masses. I’m not going to slam him as being a former Democrat, I am a former Democrat myself and most the people I know are Democrats as being in Kentucky that’s just what you do if you wanted to vote… that reality is changing…. so being a former member of Democrat party is one thing… having a modern progressive Democrat party mindset is another, remember Reagan was once a Democrat.

However with that in mind Grayson has neither been “Reagan Democrat” and in fact he was a 1992 Democrat Party delegate for Bill Clinton and only after the Democrats fell from favor in 1994 did Grayson switch to the Republican party. Seems to conjure up images and actions of Arlen Specter doesn’t it?

In August of 2009 I attended the Fancy Farm Picnic with the intention of supporting Grayson… but one of the things he did that really pissed me off was a window to the real Trey Grayson and right there he lost my support. What was it? Well his minion blocked cameras and voters view of Grayson while he mingled and I saw no reason for it… what did he think he was; royalty not to be gazed upon by the plebeians of the state? I spoke briefly to him and pointed this out, he appeared to care less and offered no excuse, and so I offer no support. You are just not that special Trey.

Here is the video of camera blocking by Grayson….

YouTube Preview Image

This election is about trust… what you hiding Trey?

Another thing about Grayson is he offers mixed positions on global warming and Cap and Trade, he claims on is website he is against Cap and Trade, but yet Grayson gave the keynote speech last year at Eastern Kentucky University as part of the National Focus the Nation event in which disgraced and ousted Obama Czar Van Jones was in attendance. Focus the Nation is a radical left-wing global warming alarmist group supported by a plethora of liberal democrats, which you can see the list on the right site of their home page. Focus the Nation supports Cap and Trade and are against coal and oil; two of the largest revenue producing products in Kentucky and provider of jobs to 1000′s of Kentucky families. So if Grayson is going to associate with the likes of Arlen Specter, Chris Dodd, Susan Collins, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Barbara Boxer, John Kerry and about a 100 others, is Grayson in favor of Cap and Trade or not? He has said one thing and he actions have said another, which is it?

Grayson believes that global warming is a real crisis even though the majority of American and Kentuckians do not in the wake of climate-gate and the failed Copenhagen climate summit; Grayson to date and to my knowledge has not backed off this junk science. Check outside it’s not that warm.

Oh by the way Kentucky’s own Rep. Ed “RINO” Whitfield and State Rep Ken Winters are two of the very few Republican that has participated in “Focus the Nation” events.  Focus the Nation is anti-coal, anti-oil, anti-natural gas group promoting their “Beyond Carbon Leadership” program to eliminate carbon energy.

Grayson also held a $500 a plate dinner in Washington attended by 17 Senator that supported the TARP bailouts. So this begs the question is Grayson raising money in Washington DC because he cares about Kentucky or does he care about Trey Grayson? Grayson’s father’s bank was also a recipient of TARP bailout money, but Trey said he’s against it… right.

Closing out Trey Grayson he has tried to make hay out of some rude anonymous user posting on one of Rand Paul’s staffers MySpace page and that is just reaching gutter politics and inter party fighting that has put this country in the position it finds itself currently. If this is the kind of campaign Grayson plans on running then he is no better than the Democrats he claims to be against. There is also a quote of Trey Grayson saying, “Remember, it’s the government’s money. It’s not your money!” What? Now to be 100% fair I haven’t seen this clip in total context so I’m not going to hang it around his neck or not until I do. Just food for thought.

But there is little point in dissecting everything Grayson since that is being accomplished here at this website.

Trey Grayson is for Trey Grayson and Kentucky can do better.

Now who is left… Rand Paul the son of Senator Ron Paul… who is the current leader in the polls has embraced the TEA Party as part of his platform, he is admittedly against Cap and Trade and said so publicly and unlike Grayson has no prior history of speaking for pro-Cap and Trade groups that would destroy Kentucky’s already weakened economy. Paul is for lower taxes, no bailouts and Campaign Finance Reform the latter is not mentioned on Grayson site anywhere, but Grayson did host a high dollar fund riser in Washington DC for his campaign not likely attended by many Kentuckians and more likely attended by lobbyist and Washington insiders. Campaign Finance Reform is to eliminate soft money from lobbyist and special interest… and it is needed.

So while I could give you a multitude of reasons to support Rand Paul and shun Trey Grayson it is in my opinion safe to say that Rand Paul comes closer to representing the growing distaste America has from Washington than does Grayson. I will put it this way I am a guy that believes what my gut tells me, it has rarely been wrong and in fact I cannot think of a time it has been wrong. When I met Trey Grayson at the Fancy Farm Picnic in August 2009 it just did not feel right, he came across as phony and disengaged with the “little people” whereas when I spoke to Rand Paul he seemed genuine and engaged with what those annoying unwashed masses had to say.

I have no doubt that some liberal blog or Trey Grayson supporter will make take issue with my support of Rand Paul based on nothing more than the name of this blog and knowing absolutely nothing about me.

So if you live in Kentucky or know voters here… vote for Rand Paul we need someone to represent real Americans and not those out to represent themselves. Trey Grayson is more concerned about Trey Grayson than he is Kentucky and we don’t need that.

Become a Facebook fan of Rand Paul here and if you cannot vote in Kentucky… how about a few bucks to help Rand out?
