Unemployment up – nothing to see here… move along, shows over.

Private Sector Adds 67,000 Jobs

U.S. Economy Lost 54,000 Jobs in August; Unemployment Rate Rises to 9.6%

WASHINGTON — Job losses continued to mount in the U.S. economy last month, though at a more modest pace than expected, putting further pressure on policy makers to take action to spur growth and employment.

Nonfarm payrolls fell by 54,000 last month, matching the level of revised losses recorded the previous month, the U.S. Labor Department said Friday. The revision in July layoffs to 54,000 followed an original estimate of a 131,000 drop in payrolls.

Really are you shocked we’re still losing jobs under Obama? I know of no employer brave enough to add jobs or expand operations – most are hoarding what little money that are making along with doing the hide and watch – no one I know feels the economy is healthy enough to invest in or grow business in.

But don’t you worry this is the SUMMER OF RECOVERY! We are on the road to wealth and riches beyond our wildest dreams – the TRILLION dollar stimulus is working and if you believe in of that I have some swamp land land in Texas to sell you – cheap.

You know what can I say that hasn’t been said? Obama couldn’t effectively run a lemonade stand better yet the American economy so all we can do is keep him from reaping anymore damage on the country and try an fix it when he is tossed from office and yet this White house still wants you to believe that what they are doing is working? Please…

“Tax Cuts for the Rich” rebranded “Middle Class Tax Cuts”

Democrats to Propose Extending Middle-Class Tax Cuts

Senate Democrats will soon advance a plan to make permanent President George W. Bush’s 2001 tax cuts for middle-class Americans earning less than $200,000, but let the tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans expire, two Senate party aides said Tuesday. They will also propose to reinstate a 45% estate tax on individuals for the next two years.

Oh hell no – Obama and every damn Democrat have been calling the Bush Tax Cuts… “tax cuts for the rich” since the day Bush signed them  they never-ever mentioned tax cuts for people making less then $200,000 in fact they’ve painted them ONLY for the rich so not only does the truth come out they have now figured out when push comes to shove that raising taxes ACTUALLY hunts the economy – WOW who would have thunk it?

But as always the Democrats are laying a trap for the GOP…

Democrats are betting that Republicans will once again take up a legislative battle on behalf of the wealthy. “Republicans are going to have a real choice ahead of them,” says a Democratic aide. “Are you for extending these tax cuts for middle-class families or are you against them because you want to protect tax cuts for the wealthiest 1% of Americans?”

First of all two-thirds of the so-called wealthiest American are small business filing as a sole proprietorship’s on their personal 1040 – they are not wealthy, they are not rich and after all the overhead and taxes they are not even middle-class. I know a lot of small business people that make over $250K per year but that is in gross sales, now deduct about half of that for goods and services, now deduct contract labor, insurance, fees, permits, licenses, utilities, maintaining equipment, building cost, taxes and taxes and taxes etc etc etc and a lot of these guys are lucky to make $25K-$30K take home a year but they are being taxed at the highest “rich guy” rate and being labeled as evil by this administration.

90%…. 90% of all jobs are created by small business and this moron in the White House is doing every damn thing he can to kill small business. Raising taxes in this economy along with all the changes in the tax laws next year is going to be devastating to business.

As I’ve said a hundred times we do not need to raise taxes on the few – we need to tax the 47% of American that are currently not paying any taxes at all, they need to have some skin in the game. The people that have money i.e. the so-called rich are the very people the invest in business, expend business and hire people. No one ever got a job from a poor person and if Obama has his why we’ll all be poor. Currently we have a consumer based economy and we need to move away from that and get back to becoming a production based economy. I don’t need to remind you that when Reagan cut taxes after second worst President ever Jimmy Carter the economy took off and receipts to the government sky rocketed – now the worst President ever Barack Obama wants to raise taxes in a sinking economy – the man is an absolute idiot if not purposely killing our economy.

Some Democrats side with Republicans, distance themselves from Obama on extending Bush tax cuts

Pelosi: Unemployment benefits create jobs?

Nancy Pelosi telling America that unemployment benefits are “One of the biggest stimulus’s to our economy.”

Waite – it gets better.

Speaker Pelosi went on to say that unemployment benefits are actually “Job creating” and that unemployment benefits “Create jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name.”

I really don’t know if this woman is as stupid as she sounds or if she really believes that we are and if she says it we’ll all go along. Oh there are plenty of lemmings out there that will buy her BS but for most Americans she is just an idiot.

Obamaganda Campaign goes into full swing this summer

As some of you know I’ve busier than a one armed paper hanger so I’ve been post slacking a little – bear with me while I catch up.

Senate energy meeting at White House next week — OBAMA, BIDEN LAUNCH ‘RECOVERY SUMMER’ — DNC starts registration drive — TIME on the states’ money woes — Matt Miller, Brandi Hoffine b’days

OBAMA, BIDEN DECLARE “RECOVERY SUMMER”: Vice President Biden today will kick off “Recovery Summer,” a six-week-long push designed to highlight the jobs accompanying a surge in stimulus-funded projects to improve highways, parks, drinking water and other public works. Biden will present President Obama with a report laying out a spike in stimulus activity this summer, and how it will contribute to a steady climb to a total of 3.5 million Recovery Act jobs by the end of the year. Biden, Obama and other administration officials will travel to more than two dozen Recovery Act project sites in coming weeks.

When Obama took office the unemployment rate was around 8% and the Nation debt was was $10,699,804,864,612.13 – now nearly a year and half after Obama took office and signed the job-saving, economy growing, nearly magical Stimulus Bill the unemployment rate is close to 10% and the national debt is $ 13,085,265,271,447.21

However it has been said since last year that the bulk of the stimulus money would not be spend until just before the election – this is something the White House denied as they had to pass the Stimulus Bill right damn now before the Universe exploded…

David Axelrod said: “This summer will be the most active Recovery Act season yet, with thousands of highly-visible road, bridge, water and other infrastructure projects breaking ground across the country, giving the American people a first-hand look at the Recovery Act in their own backyards and making it crystal clear what the cost would have been of doing nothing

New jobless claims up sharply as layoffs persist

The number of people filing new claims for jobless benefits jumped last week after three straight declines, another sign that the pace of layoffs has not slowed.

Initial claims for jobless benefits rose by 12,000 to a seasonally adjusted 472,000, the Labor Department said Thursday. It was the highest level in a month and overshadowed a report that showed consumer prices remain essentially flat.

But I guess it’s all the Census jobs they were touting last time — or could it be the stimulus failed?

In other news Obama made some piss-poor babbling speech this week about the oil spill which I didn’t watch since I could care less what that moron has to say – however I did hear a few sound bites from it that made no sense at all. Near the end of his babbling diatribe he said…

Instead, what has defined us as a nation since our founding is our capacity to shape our destiny — our determination to fight for the America we want for our children. Even if we’re unsure exactly what that looks like. Even if we don’t yet know precisely how we’re going to get there. We know we’ll get there.

You got that right slick we are going to fight for the America we want for our children and it will start in November 2010 with the taking back of Congress and it will apex in 2012 when we send your incompetent ass packing. This guy is clueless – I’ve forgotten more about leadership than this clowns even known.

I did go read the transcript and my GAWD what a babbling fool trying to find away to sound competent – sadly he doesn’t realize that can only come from experience and you can’t fake it with words.

Coming up later the Movie of the Week and the Angry White Guy going off on a Food Stamp defrauder in the grocery parking lot early this morning.

Massive Government Hiring Proof of Recovery – So say Obama

Obama: Economy ‘getting stronger by the day’

President Barack Obama says the addition of 431,000 new jobs in May shows “the economy is getting stronger by the day.”

U.S. Economy: May Employment Gain Trails Forecast

Private payrolls rose by 41,000, Labor Department figures showed today, trailing the 180,000 gain forecast by economists. Including government workers, employment rose by 431,000, boosted by a jump in hiring of temporary census workers. The jobless rate fell to 9.7 percent from 9.9 percent.

If I’ve said it once I’ve said it a 100 times – the private sector MUCH create 100,000 jobs each month just to cover those entering the work force. That means if unemployment is 9.7% in May and the private sector creates 100,000 in June the unemployment rate would remain 9.7% to reduce unemployment the private sector needs to create 150,000-200,000 jobs – that’s the PRIVATE sector not the PUBLIC sector and the Census are public sector jobs that put nothing into the economy. But somehow Obama thinks the Census creating 431,000 jobs is a good sign? How? Explain it to me. Creating a job that takes more tax dollars to fund than it creates, a job that produces no tangible product, a job that that will be gone a few weeks and it’s all a good news? The man is either an idiot or he thinks you are…

Just so you know …

Since you are cutting back, doing with less, making less – seems Barry is still living it up…

Reception in the East Room prior to performance at Ford's Theatre

Print pool only was ushered into the East Room about 5:20 p.m. where many elegant ladies in long dresses and men in tuxedos were standing sipping drinks and eating small finger food. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood came over to say hello to the pool but the president and first lady were announced before there was any real conversation. A few faces spotted in the crowd, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Rep. John Dingell and his wife.

The president and first lady walked in and gave brief remarks to the crowd, but pooler was unable to actually see them because everyone was standing. We're headed over to Ford's Theatre shortly and should be able to see then what FLOTUS is wearing.

Remarks: The president welcomed everyone to the White House. He thanked the performers for taking time out of their busy schedules, as well as cabinet officials and members of Congress, including Sen. Reid.

Tonight is about celebrating the great work of Ford's Theatre and what it has done to preserve the legacy of presidents and highlight the importance of the arts and education in our lives and the life of our nation. "In many ways it's impossible to separate the history of America from the history of its music and its spoken word. Soldiers have sung as they've marched to war and raised their voices again while laying the burden to rest."

Lyrics on a page and voices on a stage have helped make us across generations and across cultures, backgrounds, and faiths. Great leaders including Lincoln himself have drawn inspiration and courage from the arts. "And on a personal note, they helped each of us express the joys and hardships of life while bringing us closer to each other."

This is especially true during moments of trial. The president said there have been a lot of trials over the past year and a half. Now, there are brothers and sisters in the Gulf Coast who are going through an incredibly difficult time in the face of a disaster unlike any we've seen of late. "I want to emphasize again that we're going to do everything we can in the weeks and months and years ahead to make this right," and everyone here feels the same way.

But tonight, we will celebrate not only music, song, and performances, but also the incredible legacy of Ford's Theatre and some award recipients who have done some much to help others in this country and around the world.

Pool was ushered out about 5:26 p.m.

According to the Ford's Theatre website, the event tonight is described as follows:

Ford's Theatre Society will host its annual gala on Sunday, June 6, 2010, at Ford's Theatre (511 10th Street NW). The evening's performance, titled "America Celebrates July 4th at Ford's Theatre," will be taped for broadcast on the ABC Television Network to air July 2, 2010 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET). Modern Family cast member Ty Burrell hosts a star-studded program with appearances by Kelly Clarkson, Renee Fleming, George Lopez, Lionel Richie, Robin Roberts, Dick Van Dyke, Laura Michelle Kelly and Gavin Lee from the Broadway Company of "Mary Poppins," the Soldiers' Chorus of the United States Army Field Band, and cast members from the Ford's Theatre production of "Little Shop of Horrors."

We are holding in the lobby of the theatre with two large-screen television sets showing the live performance within.

The president and first lady were announced and walked to their seats at front row center. FLOTUS is wearing a stunning silver strapless dress with a large crystal necklace with what looks like two small fabric bows on either side. Designer unknown to pooler.

The programme for tonight's performance was just handed out:

Fired for being too HOT! I hear Hooter’s is hiring.

I know what you are thinking – I’m only posting this because she’s hot… well yeah, BUUHT I have commentary on the victim mentality of society.

Debrahlee Lorenzana: Is the ex-Citibank employee Victim or Villain?

Debrahlee Lorenzana, a former Citibank employee, alleges that she was terminated for being too good-looking. Her looks, it seems, were a distraction to her coworkers and supervisors—to the point where it cost her her job. In today’s Village Voice, Elizabeth Dwoskin investigates a lawsuit filed by Lorenzana against Citigroup, one of the world’s largest banks. Citibank officials declined to comment, according to the article
but contacted Forbes with the following statement: “We believe this lawsuit is without merit and we will defend against it vigorously. We respect the privacy of all of our employees and therefore cannot comment more specifically on this litigation, this former employee’s overall performance, or the reasons for her termination- which an arbitration panel must resolve. Citi is committed to fostering a culture of inclusion and providing a respectful environment in the workplace. We have a strong commitment to diversity and we do not condone, or tolerate, discrimination within our business for any reason.”

Was she fired for being to HOT? I seriously doubt it – she was likely fired for trying to use her looks to skate on her job and if you think that sounds judgmental it is and isn’t. I’ve seen it many times where some good-looking woman would use her appearance to get out of doing her job. Now I’m not pigeon holing every HOT women there as there are far more that do their job than don’t – but even you women know there are some that think that they can shake their ass, smile and some schulb guy will do what ever they want like a trained puppy including the job they are paid to do. However, to play the victim card is really pretty weak – come on Debralee do you really believe you were fired for being HOT? Are you really that much of a self-centered, egotistical snob to think that you are so steaming hot that a employer as big as CitiBank would risk a lawsuit and fire you on the grounds of your looks alone? Do you really believe they are going to open themselves up to that legal liability? Or are you so use to using your looks to get head in the world that when it doesn’t work you lash out with a lawsuit on a deep pocket company? Yeah I think that’s it – you shook your ass, flashed your cleavage and smiled  and skate by you got busted  (get it busted) and called foul and it didn’t work because some unreasonable employer wanted you to do your damn job or is that yob? I’m willing to bet she’ll toss in the Latino race-card if the “I’m too sexy for this yob” defense doesn’t work. So sorry Miss Hottie I’m not buying your claim you were canned for being too attractive – I’m betting you were fired for being a slacker who tried to skate on your looks.

But in fairness I’ll hire her to work for me on houses and give her the equal opportunity employment to prove me wrong, but she’ll have to abide by my strict dress code – which we’ll go to Victoria’s Secret and pick out if that doesn’t work out she can go to Hooter’s. Yeah, yeah ladies I know I’m being called a sexist pig right now and you know what I have to say to that? … So.

More jobless claims means more people working… do what?

The Obama White House is trying to get you to believe that the rise in the jobless claims means more people are looking for work… I’m sorry do what? Obama is trying to sell you that people are so encouraged by the economy that they are out there looking for work and filing for unemployment.

Do you get this? These folks that are now looking for work are applying for unemployment which I guess they didn’t do when they weren’t optimistic on the economy and that why the jobless claim numbers are up – so before these folks got so pumped on the prospect of of finding a job they just set around the house and did not even bother applying for unemployment… that is what you are to believe.

So for Obama or his minions say that an increased jobless claim is a sign of improvement is kind of like saying “Well doctor the patient is bleeding more so they must be getting better.” It makes no sense at all – and it goes beyond spinning and firmly stands in the lying square.

So why does Obama and Gibbs try to sale you on the idea that more people seeking unemployment benefits is a good sign? well two reason… 1.) they think you are an idiot and will believe them and 2.) the more people dependent on the government the easier it is to control the population. I’ve told you before when they control your money, they control your life.

Here is a simple question if signs of the economy is improving is higher jobless claims – then what were those people applying for those claims living on when they weren’t so pumped about the economy? Am I to believe they just sat around the house so depressed over the economy they couldn’t even apply for unemployment benefits and they lived off fairy dust and lollipop dreams?

If that is the logic then I guess the huge national debt it a sign of just how much money we have to spend, right? I don’t know if they are in denial or they are just delusional, but whatever it is they are not living in reality.

I think not…

Yeah, Happy Days Unemployment ONLY 9.9%

Today Dopey Obama came out claiming recovery because unemployment is up!! WHAT? Recovery? Where?

From the APObama…
Largest hiring burst in years, but jobless rate up

The hiring last month of 66,000 temporary government workers to conduct the census added to overall job creation. But private employers — the backbone of the economy — contributed the most: A surprisingly strong 231,000 jobs, the most since March 2006, the Labor Department said Friday.

The new jobs, generated by sectors across the economy, are the first sign that the recovery is adding significant numbers of new jobs — even if not enough to absorb the influx of jobseekers. That’s why the unemployment rate rose.

So let me get this right – ONE EMPLOYER – just one the US GOVERNMENT, that adds not one thin dime the GDP hired 66,000 people but yet that paled in comparison to the massive hiring for the rest of the country, the rest of the employers in the entire nation which is what a million? Two million employers? More? Yep all the rest of the employers combined throughout the entire nation, every major employer, every small business, every mom and pop, every farmer, every single one down 6to the guy or gal that hires one or two people hired – are you ready – 230,000 people. WOOHOO! Happy damn days are here again and to think we’ve only lost 8,000,000 jobs under Obama! Boy, that trillion dollar stimulus is kicking ass isn’t it?

Can you smell the sarcasm?

These people, this brain trust seem to think that unemployment being up is a sign of more people looking for work – well yeah that because you extended the unemployment benefits last month so they reapplied to receive their back benefits, genius.

I told you I’m sick of the propaganda and lies and that’s all I hear anymore. I’ve told you before you need to create a 100,000 jobs per month just to keep up with the people entering the work force, they can’t claim unemployment as they’ve never had a job so those are the great uncounted masses of the unemployed – the youth. The real unemployment is 17.1% yeah that hope and change is pretty great isn’t it?

290,000 New Jobs Created In April, But Unemployment Rate Jumps To 9.9%

Among the major worker groups, the unemployment rate for whites (9.0 percent) edged up in April, while the rates for adult men (10.1 percent), adult women (8.2 percent), teenagers (25.4 percent), blacks (16.5 percent), and Hispanics (12.5 percent) showed little or no change. The jobless rate for Asians was 6.8 percent, not seasonally adjusted.

Yeah it’s all great news.

Tax, Tax, Tax and Tax Some More

Reagan said of the Liberal Progressive Democrats that they never met a tax they didn’t raise. Obama promised many, many time that if you made less than $250,000, or $200,000 or $150,000 or $120,000 depending on which speech you listen to – that not one dime of your tax’s will go up, not one!

Obama lied, now…

Volcker suggests deficit-cutting taxes

Well Presidential adviser Paul Volcker “value-added tax used frequently in Europe — essentially, a sales tax — “was not as toxic an idea” as it was in previous years, The Hill newspaper reported Wednesday. He also said a tax on carbon or energy use might be required to lower the deficit.”

Why sure a VAT or a carbon or a energy tax – why not I mean it’s only half of Americans that currently pay no income taxes at all. So why not put a tax in place that everybody can pay – naturally those that consume more and feed the economy will pay more, so punish them and make sure they cut back insuring further economic decline. It would just be crazy to expect everyone to pay income tax, so let’s create a new one.

Nearly half of US households escape fed income tax

About 47 percent will pay no federal income taxes at all for 2009. Either their incomes were too low, or they qualified for enough credits, deductions and exemptions to eliminate their liability.

Well isn’t that special! 47% of the American people are freeloading on the backs of the remaining 53% – what about that crap Obama said about everybody having skin in the game? How about we share the wealth of the tax burden? How about 47% of the American people pick up they fair share of the tab. If you benefit from the system then you should pay into the system. Seems like a simple concept to me.

Instead of a VAT – let’s just do away with all the income tax credits that allow 47% of American’s to go year after year tax free.

Now know this… the White House and the Democrats will deny any tax increase until after the November election, they will call it Republican scare tactics. Hell, I’ll bet they’ll blame that Tea Party or the evil white men – it’s not beyond them. Well the reality is we have two choices – raise taxes to offset the debt or my personal choices cut spending to the bone and offset the debt. You can not continue to spend the way Obama and the Democrats are spending without the bill coming due.

We cannot continue to support nearly half of this country and spend the way they do – it’s simple we don’t need to pay more taxes, we need more people paying taxes – it’s time everybody get some skin in the game. Obama is all about fair – that’s fair isn’t it? If you gain from the system than you should share the pain from the system?

It just drive me insane to listen to Democrat talk about tax cuts for the rich … in the Democrats eyes the rich is anyone with a job! You can’t give tax breaks to those 47% that do not pay taxes and I’m sick of this class warfare game, which reminds me of a Obama supporting friend I have that’s a non-tax payer and they have the nerve to give me crap over Bush tax cuts for the so-called rich! So I ask “How do you cut taxes on people that don’t pay taxes? Do you even have a clue on who pays taxes? I think not!”

So FYI on who pays taxes…

Run the Numbers: After the Bush Tax Cuts, the Rich Pay More Taxes

Before the Bush tax cuts, the top 1% of wage earners paid 37% of all income tax revenue.  Now, after the Bush tax cuts, the top 1% are paying 39% of a total income tax bite.  That’s a 2% increase in the share of total taxes paid by the rich, the top 1%, since the Bush tax cuts went into effect.  By the same token, before the Bush tax cuts, the top 5% paid 56% of all income tax revenue. Now the top 5% are paying 60%, after the Bush tax cuts.  Now, you might be saying, “How does this happen, Rush?”  It’s simple.  You have to stop looking at things as a zero-sum game.  You have to look at the dynamic results of what tax cuts cause.  They cause more jobs. They create more wealth, and as more people gain wealth, they move into these higher tax brackets. There are more people in those brackets, therefore the aggregate income tax collected goes up.  They are paying a bigger portion, which, you know, generating revenue to the Treasury is what this is all about. But it’s really not, see, because of the Democrats and the Drive-Bys, it’s about control. It’s not about raising revenue.

Now I’m not rich, I don’t make millions of dollars or even hundreds of thousands – but my line of work requires that I have somewhat wealthy people to work for, because I’ve never been hired by a poor person. The more they tax the rich the less the rich have to spend on services and investments – entitlements for the poor have never created a job, saved a job or encouraged to them to get a job and it has never lifted anyone up out of poverty. Do you know that the longest most expensive war in American history was started and championed by the Democrats and it’s a war that has lost every battle it has engaged and that’s the War on Poverty! According to some estimates over 40 TRILLION dollars has been spent to date and there is far more poor people today then there was when it was started!

The really is the democrats never wanted the poor to get out of poverty – they wanted to keep them there as a built in voting block scammed into believing that they were going to do something for them. It’s simple really the democrats keep promising them the moon and delivering little, but for some reason people keep buying into it – I guess it’s easier to get people to do nothing than to do something – like work.

Anyway speaking of which I need to do that as I have moochers and slackers to support.
