I found the pork now here’s the beef…

I know a lot of the folks that read here could care less about what’s going on with lowly district of KY01 Rep. Ed Whitfield, but this is what my congressmen is saying and by doing so you might want to take a look at yours too.

Ed Whitfield who just a few months ago sent me a letter about the need for fiscal responsibility in Washington….

Whitfield Calls for Return of Fiscal Responsibility to Government

“During these tough economic times, Kentuckians have been forced to tighten their belts and cut back on spending to make ends meet,” Whitfield said. “The federal government should be required to do the same thing. It is essential Congress curb its runaway spending habits before our national debt becomes an insurmountable burden for future generations.”

Blah-blah-blah Ed… so tell me if we need to be fiscal responsible then why are you porking up the spending bill?

Now before I go on my rant I want to say I called the congressman’s Washington office about this and they seemed more interested in getting me off the phone than answering questions so I called the Paducah office and no one answered then I called the Hopkinsville office and spoke to the congressman assistant … we spoke for about 1:30 or so on a range of political topics. So I will include some of his commits regarding some of my pork complaints… he was very nice and answered most of my questions or directed me to where I could find the answers.

Whitfield’s Fiscal Year 2010 Requests

Here are a few…

Monroe County Farmer’s Market

Monroe County Fiscal Court
1194 Columbia Avenue
Tompkinsville, KY 42167
$500,000
These funds will be used to construct a new market facility that will promote economic development and provide added benefits to the local community.

A half million dollars for a farmers market in a town of a population of 2609 as of July 2008? They need a $500,000.00 farmers market? Now I live in a rural community and the local farmers market is nothing more than farmers with their pickup facing tailgate to tailgate and my rinky-dinky little town is 5 time the size of Tompkinsville!

Congressmen’s office really didn’t have good answer for this one.

Let’s look at some more…

Senior Citizens Housing Project

Hickman County Fiscal Court
110 East Clay Street
Clinton, KY 42031
$1,250,000
These funds will be used to construct a two-story, eight unit senior housing complex. This construction will aid the City of Clinton and Hickman County as they work to revitalize the downtown area to facilitate economic development and community well being.

WTF? Ok I know what you’re thinking “Dave you just don’t like old people.” WRONG! One building with 8 units for $1.25 million bucks! That’s $156,250.00 per unit… do you know what a house cost in Hickman population 2239? You can buy houses all day long for $25,000.00 in Hickman and might I point out that the only way to get to Hickman, KY is to be going there. You just don’t stumble upon Hickman. You what this is? It’s about political payout by the country judge executive David Gallagher who made the request… I have no proof of that its political payout I just know how small town politics work.

Oh there is more…

Installation Chapel and Multi-Purpose Facility

Fort Campbell
39 Normandy Avenue
Fort Campbell, KY 42223
$14,000,000
These funds will be used to construct a 1,200-seat chapel/family life multi-purpose facility to serve the soldiers and family members at Fort Campbell.

$14,000,000.00 for a church? I thought we had a separation of church and state in this country? Since when is it the government job to build churches? I have no problems with churches at all, I even go on occasion but I’ve never been in a $14,000,000 church and to top that off Fort Campbell already has a church. And as a constitutionalists I believe if you are going to have a separation of church and state then do it… nothing say that other church or groups of churches can’t fund the building of a multi-denominational church as most military services are multi-religion and multi-denominational and all the taxpayer has to do is pony up a little space. Remember a building isn’t a church

Then we have…

Fort Campbell
39 Normandy Avenue
Fort Campbell, KY 42223
$14,400,000
These funds will be used to construct an Army Standard Physical Fitness Center to serve soldiers and family members at Fort Campbell. The existing facility is inadequate and fails to meet Army requirements.

What the hell are the putting in a Gold’s Gym franchise? Which by the way you can get for $550,000 – $3,635,000.

Now the Congressman’s office said COULD be use for rehabilitation of returning wounded vets, that’s all fine the noble but that’s not what the request says and it doesn’t change the fact I could build 4 high end Gold’s Gyms for the same amount of money and they’re only building one.

Clean-up Activities at the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant

Department of Energy
1000 Independence Ave SW
Washington, DC 20585
$144,729,000
These funds will be used to accelerate the removal of over 50 years of legacy waste and environmental contamination stemming from the production of enriched uranium.

This plant is ran by USEC a heavily unionized publicly traded company (NYSE: USU) which begs the question why do taxpayers need to pay to clean up there mess? I’ll admit I don’t know the entire story on this, but I do know that taxpayers are flipping the cleanup bill.

One more…

Lake Cumberland Community Action Bus Radio Project

Lake Cumberland Community Action Agency
23 Industry Drive
Jamestown, KY 42629
$70,000
These funds will be used to install emergency radios in buses that transport senior citizens to and from their medical appointments in an area that is currently undergoing a Dam safety rehabilitation project, which increases the need for emergency communications.

Even a cell phone without a contract can dial 911 and we’re spending $70,000.00 fro radios? How many damn buses do they have it’s not a populous area.

If the congressmen, his staff or those making these pork requests want to clear these up… you know how to contact me. And for the record I didn’t list them all, additionally I pointed out to the Congressman’s office that you can’t bitch about government spending if you are part of the problem… as I used the example there are things you MUST do to maintain your house, however many of the things you may WANT to do is not the things you NEED to do. There is a big difference between repairing the water line (a need to do) and painting the guest bedroom (a want to do).

You have to LEAD BY EXAMPLE and you can’t waste your time whining about not getting your fair share Ed!

Congressional Staffers are clueless

Today I spent some time calling a number of the Congressional Field Offices here in the glorious state of Kentucky and additional calls to the Washington DC offices, mainly Ed Whitfield (R-KY) and Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) offices and I found a recurring theme… they don’t know a damn thing about anything about anything.

I asked about ObamaCare, flag@whitehouse.gov and the whereabouts and times of any town halls meeting in the District. First they know painfully little about ObamaCare about all they wanted to know is if I was ‘for it’ or ‘again’ it’ and they could not answer a single question about the bill…

I did find this interesting one of the offices I spoke to said the they had had no calls for support until today and they have had 5 calls in support, I said ‘yeah that’s because Obama directed his supporters to call in a mass e-mail’. She said she knew of no such e-mail from the President to gin up support for health care (I’m paraphrasing) Well there is an e-mail and here it is…

obama manufacture 2

Then there is this site http://my.barackobama.com/page/s/commitaugust

And this isn’t “Astroturfing”?

I think I would call that MANUFACTURED SUPPORT and Dopey Obama is still begging for money too… but I’m sure my local congressional staffers won’t know a damn thing about it, likely to busy watching American Idol.

So I went on and I ask about flag@whitehouse.gov , what’s the Congressman/Senators position on this?  went on to ask if it was a violation of the Presidential Records Act of 1978 or the Privacy Act of 1974 and not only did this morons not know about the snitch site Obama set up or if Whitfield or McConnell had a position they didn’t even know about Presidential Records Act of 1978 or the Privacy Act of 1974. One of them said and my head exploded… ‘well that [the Acts] was a long time ago I’m not sure those laws are still around’. WHAT?!! So I said well the Constitutions and the Bible are old too, maybe should throw them out as well, then I when on to explain Acts don’t expire without an ACT of Congress repealing them. Long story short, some minion that was in charge of the field offices was going to call me back because he knew everything about everything well that never did call me back, so I’ll try again Monday.

See it’s a catch 22 for the Constitutional Lawyer Big Ears Obama…

“There’s also a statute that requires the White House to retain all communications that it receives. It can’t try to rewrite history by pretending it didn’t receive anything, if the White House deletes anything, it violates one statute. If the White House collects data on the free speech, it violates another statute.”
[Judge Andrew] Napolitano was referring to the Privacy Act of 1974, which was passed after the Nixon administration used federal agencies to illegally investigate individuals for political purposes. Enacted after Richard Nixon’s resignation in the Watergate scandal, the statute generally prohibits any federal agency from maintaining records on individuals exercising their right to free speech.

White House Move to Collect ‘Fishy’ Info May Be Illegal, Critics Say
Who’s behind the Internet Snitch Brigade

But it didn’t end there, oh no. Another one of the brain trust (Congressional Staffer) told me upon my complaint of their collective cluelessness that she got up at 4AM every day and didn’t have time to watch the news.. I replied that the office doesn’t open until 10AM so you have 6 hours every morning to educate yourself and I’d start if I was you… I mean gee you only work for a Congressman why should you know what’s going on in the country? Crazy talk I know. I swear these people are in a bubble and have no clue what’s going on out here in the REAL WORLD.

Lastly on town halls they knew that there MIGHT be some town halls, but they wasn’t REAL SURE there was going to be any or where they might be and they’d call me if they had more information… I asked if I’d called faster if I was in or out of a Union? To which they asked what that meant… I said never mind! Now granted I have Republican Congressmen both House and Senate and they are not going to vote for ObamaCare as they have stated, but I think I need to go to the meeting to tell them their staffer needs to get a clue. There were several other issues I touched on with them that they knew nothing about and in closing one kid said “Is there anything else I can do for you?” I said “Yes, pick up a paper, turn on the news and find out what’s going on in your world, that’s all I ask.”

This was my sign, did you see it?

If you’ve got some great images, send them to me.

Well the Paducah KY TEA Party was really great, we had some good speakers and much to my surprise Ed Whitfield did pander for votes, but he did make some excuses which never set well with me. But I’ll give him a B- on his speech, see Ed I can be fair.
I have video and pictures I need to upload, I didn’t take much video since I had my sign, my camera, my video camera, cards, stickers and my hands were full. I’m not sure how many people were there but I’d guess at least 800-1000 give or take, I don’t know for sure head counting is not my forte, dare I say I may be conservative in my estimate. I have some questions out to get the numbers, I’ve heard about 2000, put I think that might be a little high, no offence to those with those numbers my guess would be closer to 1000-1500. I know the signature list to send to Washington DC was said to have 1700 signatures on it. Everybody was fairly spread out around the plaza so it’s was hard to get a firm count.

There was a number of speakers there from Patrick Henry (in spirit) to Fair Tax speakers to members of Congress, state and county, the crowd as was expected were extremely well behaved and not acting like a bunch of lunatic morons like the loony left does.

I really think the local folks need to start networking, they need to get in touch with one another so the momentum does not die, it’s has to be a nation wide effort for all of those sick of high taxes and sick of not being heard to connect and have their voice heard. Just sayin’.

Who cares what NBC, MSNBC and CNN says their a bunch of left wing loons.

Anyway I’ll post more later, I got a box load of computer parts I need to install in the command bunker super computer to avoid Janet “I spy an extremist” Napolitano from spying on me in the bathroom as I read ringwing propaganda.

Massive: Tax Day Tea Party USA

Oh if you can handle looking at the mess left behind by these extreme right wingers check out this image below … it’s a far cry from the real mess left behind by the loony left in Washington.

ptp04

Did you see that mess? NO?? I could have swore I saw a gum wrapper.
Oh well click here for a real liberal mess.

Open letter to Rep. Ed “RINO” Whitfield’s unconstitutional vote.

rinocratthumb

Hat Tip to toastyaroma.com for this logo.

Here is a copy of the letter I sent to former Democrat that now resides in the DNC closet while wearing a GOP mask or as I like to call them RINOcrat. If you Republican congressman voted for HR 1538 then feel free to copy this letter to them, changing the appropriate words.

Congressman Whitfield,

While I do not agree with the AIG bonuses, the fact that the administration knew about this in advance and that the contracts were already in place renders the argument against them moot and validated the hypocrisy and ineptitude of Congress that fail to read the largest spending bill in American history. This 90% tax that you voted on is not only a violation of the Article I, Section 9, paragraph 3 of the US Constitution additionally it is by voting for this unconstitutional bill a violation of your oath of office to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

If you do not understand the guiding principles of the US Constitution or if you need a copy of it, please let me know and I can either explain it to you or send you a copy. One would think that a lawyer such as yourself would have taken Constitution Law 1 and 2 while in school; perhaps you missed those classes on “Bill of Attainder” or “ex post facto” law.

Congress has become an embarrassment to this great nation and your continuing siding with the fiasco of the Democrat Party is an embarrassment to the Republican Party of District 1 of Kentucky. Perhaps you should come out of the closet and join the opposition. As you have bent to a “mob rule” mentality and your job is to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States in the face of irrational public emotion, perhaps John Boehner can give you some lessons in that, I would seek out his guidance.

In closing these bonuses that AIG received is the direct result of congresses inability to effectively execute the job in which they were elected by passing unread legislation and feigning outrage when caught, this is nothing more than a diversionary tactic to misdirect the public from congresses own incompetence.

If any of the Congressman’s minions reads this letter, please make sure the RINO gets a copy.
Now if you think this letter is disrespectful of the Congressman, remember this respect is earned not given.

Ok, here is why this is unconstitutional in simple words if you don’t get it.

On Monday you are driving in your car talking on a cellphone, there is no law against it, on Tuesday the City Commission passes a law making it illegal to talk on a cell phone while driving, on Wednesday you are charged for talking on the cell on Monday, get it? You have to have a intent to commit a crime in order to commit it! You can not commit a crime that is not a crime and you can not be charged with a crime that was not a crime when you did it after the law (read legislation) was passed making it a crime.

It’s unconstitutional and it violate Due Process, Ex Post Facto and Bill of Attainter.

IT’S A VIOLATION OF THE U.S. CONSTITUTION!!

Congressman ED Whitfield (R-KY) my RINO congressman.

Congressman ED Whitfield (R-KY) is my congressman, and it would seem he has ventured into the ugly, ugly waters of being a RINO along with 15 other Republicans on their recent vote for H.R. 1105 the Omnibus Appropriations Act for 2009. He and Bono, Brown-Waite, Cao, Capito, Castle, Dent, Emerson, Gerlach, LoBiondo, McHugh, Miller (MI), Murphy, Reichert, Upton and Young (AK) all voted with the Democrats to thrust us further onto debt with a $410 Billion spending bill loaded with over 9000 earmarks. This hot on the heels of the $4 trillion budget Obama in introducing today.

So aside from trying to buy votes why did Whitfield vote for this bill?

Well here is his official press release …

U.S. Representative Ed Whitfield (KY-01) secured more than $360 million in federal funds for projects throughout the First Congressional District which will create new jobs and provide a needed boost to local economies.

“During tough economic times, the money awarded to these projects throughout the First Congressional District will help to revitalize local economies and create new jobs,” Whitfield said. “Federal funding for local projects is absolutely critical to maintaining and growing our local communities. While there are a number of other projects in the First Congressional District I was hopeful would receive funding, I am pleased that so many Kentuckians will benefit from the money our area receives.” Read more…
