Unemployment up – nothing to see here… move along, shows over.

Private Sector Adds 67,000 Jobs

U.S. Economy Lost 54,000 Jobs in August; Unemployment Rate Rises to 9.6%

WASHINGTON — Job losses continued to mount in the U.S. economy last month, though at a more modest pace than expected, putting further pressure on policy makers to take action to spur growth and employment.

Nonfarm payrolls fell by 54,000 last month, matching the level of revised losses recorded the previous month, the U.S. Labor Department said Friday. The revision in July layoffs to 54,000 followed an original estimate of a 131,000 drop in payrolls.

Really are you shocked we’re still losing jobs under Obama? I know of no employer brave enough to add jobs or expand operations – most are hoarding what little money that are making along with doing the hide and watch – no one I know feels the economy is healthy enough to invest in or grow business in.

But don’t you worry this is the SUMMER OF RECOVERY! We are on the road to wealth and riches beyond our wildest dreams – the TRILLION dollar stimulus is working and if you believe in of that I have some swamp land land in Texas to sell you – cheap.

You know what can I say that hasn’t been said? Obama couldn’t effectively run a lemonade stand better yet the American economy so all we can do is keep him from reaping anymore damage on the country and try an fix it when he is tossed from office and yet this White house still wants you to believe that what they are doing is working? Please…

Joe ‘Bite Me’ Biden verses the Reality

First I want to say that I truly hope Joe Biden gets help for his drug problem – clearly after many of his remarks, he’s on them. Get help Joe – you need it.

Anyway I guess you heard what Bite Me said now…

Biden: ‘We’ve seen this movie before’

“For eight years before we arrived in the West Wing, Mr. Boehner and his party ran the economy literally into the ground,” he said. “We’ve seen this movie before, Mr. Boehner. We’ve seen it before and we know how it ends.”

Really?

Biden conceded that the economic recovery was not proceeding as fast as the administration had hoped, but claimed there was “no doubt we’re moving in the right direction.”

Problem is they’ve never said which direction they hope to go – if it’s down then that’s a true statement, otherwise it’s a lie.

Yeah that prior eight year really sucked deficit wise compared to Obama – what about unemployment? (NOTE: Bush spent way more than I liked but he was a rank amateur compared to Obama’s spending.)

Gee seems the unemployment under Bush was on average about 5.3% and under Obama it has been on average above 9.5% with a real unemployment rate is way over double that at 22% yeah the good old days they were horrible – if you were HOPING to be unemployed – but don’t worry Obama CHANGED that. Now unemployment is easy.

Well I’m sure Obama’s tax plan will make everything OK – right?

Obama’s Tax Plan: Bad for Economic Growth

Small businesses that employ the most workers would be particularly hard-hit if the top income tax rates go up.

Ok – well I was wrong about that – what else? Well BiteMe let’s have a look at some of the great leap forwards under Dopey and Thief…

Foreclosure rates surge, biggest jump in 5 years

More homes were taken over by banks and scheduled for a foreclosure sale than in any quarter going back to at least January 2005, when RealtyTrac began reporting the data, the firm said.

U.S. Bankruptcy Rate Skyrockets

The financial crisis just won’t go away. It has manifested itself in the poor performance of the housing market, the failure of hundreds of banks and an unemployment surge. One more problem that has emerged as a result of the recession is the soaring rate of bankruptcy filings across the nation. Bankruptcy filings rose by 20% in the past year, according to the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. A stunning total surpassing 1.5 million bankruptcy cases were processed between June 2009 and June 2010, up from about 1.3 million in the prior 12-month period.

CD Rates are Falling: Bad News for Savers

The news of low overall interest rates could be good for borrowers and not so good for savers. Borrowers can look forward to paying lower fees when returning money on a loan which will them help pay off debt more quickly.

Savers are not so lucky. If you are living on a budget and stashing away money for later in CDs, you will not see high returns on those accounts. Many economists don’t see the problem improving in upcoming years. It can be frustrating if you are attempting to be responsible with your finances but not seeing much in return.

Food stamp use hit record 40.8m in May (2010)

The number of Americans who are receiving food stamps rose to a record 40.8 million in May as the jobless rate hovered near a 27-year high, the government reported yesterday.

Number of Houston homeless children increasing at rapid rate

According to statistics released in 2009 by the Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County, 2,891 homeless children lived in the Houston area. That number has nearly doubled in 2010, as 5,404 children have been reported homeless so far this year.

The number of Americans who are receiving food stamps rose to a record 40.8 million in May as the jobless rate hovered near a 27-year high, the government reported yesterday.

Tell me Joe do I really need to go on? We are on to your bullshit delusional lies and propaganda that things are better now than they were under Bush – Obama and Biden cannot point to a single success that their policies have yielded – not one! Oh the liberals will say the auto bailout was a success… really is it? GM is desperate to shake the “Government Motors” image and get out from under their thumb. How about the “Cash for Clunkers” program it was a fail. Oh they will say that Obama’s long delayed surge in Afghanistan was a success – a surge that fell 10′s of 1000′s of troops short resulting in a troop death increased to record levels under Obama. So tell me Joe what have you and the other idiot in office done that has worked? Where are the jobs? Where is the growth? Where is the booming economy? How about a easy one for the great communicator – foreign policy – how’s that working out? Not to good huh? So where are your successes Joe, where?

Don’t buy anything that comes out of this administration – the only truth I’ve heard is the claim of the “Fundamental Transformation of America” they just didn’t finish the sentence which said… ‘into a third world, third rate country.’

Yeah Joe, we’ve seen this movie you speak of before and you have too and it was shown in November 1994 and it will see it again this November when you tax and spend progressive morons are sent packing back under the rock from which you came. Remember Joe – what Nancy Reagan said “Just say no to drugs.” It’s good advice, take it.

Reality just ate Biden’s lunch.

Facts vs. Propaganda

First the FACTS -

Fed set to downgrade outlook for US

The Federal Reserve is set to downgrade its assessment of US economic prospects when it meets on Tuesday to discuss ways to reboot the flagging recovery.

Faced with weak economic data and rising fears of a double-dip recession, the Federal Open Market Committee is likely to ensure its policy is not constraining growth and to use its statement to signal greater concern about the economy. It is, however, unlikely to agree big new steps to boost growth.

From the White House the PROPAGANDA …

A Summer of Recovery

With tens of thousands of projects funded and millions of Americans on the job today, it’s hard to believe that it’s only been 16 months since President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. And with so many jobs saved and created already, you might think that the Recovery Act’s greatest impact is behind us.

But it’s not.

As the summer heats up, it is becoming clear that it could quite possibly be the most active season yet when it comes to recovering our economy. There are Recovery Act-funded projects breaking ground across the country that are creating quality jobs for Americans and economic growth for businesses, large and small.

This summer is sure to be a Summer of Economic Recovery.

From The Hill the assessment …

Obama tries to sell ‘recovery summer’ amid slow economy

President Barack Obama and his team are trying to sell Americans on an economic recovery this summer, but the economy is stubbornly refusing to cooperate.

Obama and his Cabinet officials will fan out across the country over the next few days to spread the message to voters about how effective their $787 billion recovery plan has been, an effort they’re calling “recovery summer.”

The administration’s message has run into several negative economic headwinds that have led to worries the economy is at risk of entering a double-dip recession, not a recovery.

So while Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Reid and the rest of the lying scumbags in the Democrat Party try to claim we are in recovery – the reality speak otherwise. Meanwhile while you scrap and struggle to get buy the Obama’s live large on your money.

Michelle Obama Criticized as “Modern-day Marie Antoinette” Over Spain Vacation

CBS News White House correspondent Mark Knoller reports the C-32A (757) the First Lady used to fly to Spain – one of the planes that usually serves as Air Force Two, and sometimes Air Force One – operates at a Department of Defense reimbursement rate of $11,351 per hour.

So a 6.5 hour flight to Spain would run $73,781.50 – double for the round trip.

US Postal Service loses $3.5 bln in third quarter

Revenue in the third quarter that ended June 30 fell $294 million to $16 billion from a year ago, while expenses were $789 million higher at $19.5 billion, due largely to higher workers’ compensation costs and retiree health benefits.

Fannie Mae Seeks $1.5 Billion From U.S. Treasury After 12th Straight Loss

Food stamp use hit record 40.8m in May

An average of 40.5 million people, more than an eighth of the population, will get food stamps each month in the year that began Oct. 1, according to White House estimates.

The figure is projected to rise to 43.3 million in 2011.

GM donates $41,000 to lawmakers’ pet projects

The carmaker gave $41,000 to groups associated with lawmakers, the vast majority of it — $36,000 — to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, the company reported on a disclosure form last week. The CBC Foundation is a charity with 11 members of the Congressional Black Caucus on its board.

Social Security in the red this year

Social Security will pay out more this year than it gets in payroll taxes, marking the first time since the program will be in the red since it was overhauled in 1983, according to the annual authoritative report released Thursday by the program’s actuary.

Meanwhile President Obama’s health care overhaul has given Medicare’s basic Hospital Insurance an extra 12 years of financial stability, though it did not solve all of the program’s long-term challenges.

Is Obama about to forgive billions in mortgage principal?

James Pethokoukis hears rumors of an August surprise coming from the White House, one that will attempt to win backs the hearts and minds of voters dismayed at the failing economic policies of the Obama administration.  With the government fully in control of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Barack Obama may issue an order to forgive portions of underwater mortgages processed through the GSEs, where negative equity approaches $800 billion overall.  Some financial houses have begun quietly preparing for the possibility:

Clown in Chief

Obama to GOP: ‘You can’t have the keys back!’

The president said the Republican Party lack one “single, solitary new idea” and are “betting on amnesia” to help them in November. During a bit that drew hearty laughs from the Democratic audience, he likened the GOP to a driver who has gone into a ditch, and after not helping to push the car out, demands the keys back.

“You can’t have the keys back,” Obama exclaimed. “You don’t know how to drive!”

And yet Obama thinks his “new ideas” have worked? Man, I don’t want to point out the obvious again that – like the debt under Obama grew more in 18 months than it did under Bush in 8 years, that we haven’t had 2 years of 9% plus unemployment since the socialist FDR was in office, that Obama has been on the opposite side of the American people on nearly every position he’s taken, do I really need to cover all of these again? I think not.

The Smartass and Thief with his smug little grin fancies himself a comic – well I’ll agree he is a joke but the results of his actions are far from funny. I’ve never seen a President that has tried so hard to be “cute” with his partisan quips and his smartass remarks – then again I’ve never seen in my lifetime such a partisan president.

Obama fails to realize just how much he demeans the office of the president with childish behavior and frat boy attitude – he is an embarrassment to the nation.

That’s it, that’s all I have time for today.

Obama is no Reagan

Here is an article that says Obama is no Reagan… well no kidding. Obama is not worthy to set at the same desk Reagan sat at better yet be compared to him – Reagan loved this country, Obama not so much.

Obama the Velcro president

Reporting from Washington — If Ronald Reagan was the classic Teflon president, Barack Obama is made of Velcro.

Somehow, I think saying Obama is made of Velcro will be called racist by those on the left (don’t ask me to explain it).

Through two terms, Reagan eluded much of the responsibility for recession and foreign policy scandal. In less than two years, Obama has become ensnared in blame.

That’s because Reagan was making things better, not worse.

Hoping to better insulate Obama, White House aides have sought to give other Cabinet officials a higher profile and additional public exposure. They are also crafting new ways to explain the president’s policies to a skeptical public.

You will never shut this narcissist up – they have to be the center of attention good or bad.

But Obama remains the colossus of his administration — to a point where trouble anywhere in the world is often his to solve.

Narcissistic personality disorder look it up – the man-child has it in spades.

The president is on the hook to repair the Gulf Coast oil spill disaster, stabilize Afghanistan, help fix Greece’s ailing economy and do right by Shirley Sherrod, the Agriculture Department official fired as a result of a misleading fragment of videotape.

What’s not sticking to Obama is a legislative track record that his recent predecessors might envy. Political dividends from passage of a healthcare overhaul or a financial regulatory bill have been fleeting.

Political dividends from passage of a healthcare overhaul or a financial regulatory bill? You are kidding me in your observation that envy has been fleeting  – nobody wanted it! The public is against it and we are sick of this little boy telling us what’s good for us.

Instead, voters are measuring his presidency by a more immediate yardstick: Is he creating enough jobs? So far the verdict is no, and that has taken a toll on Obama’s approval ratings. Only 46% approve of Obama’s job performance, compared with 47% who disapprove, according to Gallup’s daily tracking poll.

Gallup huh? Let’s have a look at the collective reality – the RCP average is 45% approve and 49.7 disapprove as of 7/31

Obama lately has tried to rip off the Velcro veneer. In a revealing moment during the oil spill crisis, he reminded Americans that his powers aren’t “limitless.” He told residents in Grand Isle, La., that he is a flesh-and-blood president, not a comic-book superhero able to dive to the bottom of the sea and plug the hole.

“I can’t suck it up with a straw,” he said.

I seems to remember Obama’s megalomaniacal line –  “I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on earth.”  — anybody else remember that bullshit? Now he said that before the election and yet the drones still voted for his dumbass.

Clinching the Democratic nomination two years ago, Obama described the moment as an epic breakthrough when “we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless” and “when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.”

Those towering goals remain a long way off. And most people would have preferred to see Obama focus more narrowly on the “good jobs” part of the promise.

What I said …

Unemployment has been rising — from 7.7% when Obama took office, to 9.5%. Last month, more than 2 million homes in the U.S. were in various stages of foreclosure — up from 1.7 million when Obama was sworn in.

“Folks just aren’t in a mood to hand out gold stars when unemployment is hovering around 10%,” said Paul Begala, a Democratic pundit.

You think so Captain Obvious?

But the Obama administration is about one man. Obama is the White House’s chief spokesman, policy pitchman, fundraiser and negotiator. No Cabinet secretary has emerged as an adequate surrogate. Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner is seen as a tepid public speaker; Energy Secretary Steven Chu is prone to long, wonky digressions and has rarely gone before the cameras during an oil spill crisis that he is working to end.

So, more falls to Obama, reinforcing the Velcro effect: Everything sticks to him. He has opined on virtually everything in the hundreds of public statements he has made: nuclear arms treaties, basketball star LeBron James’ career plans; Chelsea Clinton’s wedding.

That’s because narcissist are control freaks and are of the opinion that no one can do anything but them – they believe they are the smartest idiot in the room and if they do not do it it can not be done – Reagan on the other hand was older, wiser and more mature and knew how to delegate – something the little man-child can’t do.

“Stylistically he creates some of those problems,” Eddie Mahe, a Republican political strategist, said in an interview. “His favorite pronoun is ‘I.’

Don’t forget – ‘me’ and ‘my’ – like I said NPD – Narcissistic personality disorder.

A new White House strategy is to forgo talk of big policy changes that are easy to ridicule. Instead, aides want to market policies as more digestible pieces. So, rather than tout the healthcare package as a whole, advisors will talk about smaller parts that may be more appealing and understandable — such as barring insurers from denying coverage based on preexisting conditions.

But at this stage, it may be late in the game to downsize either the president or his agenda.

Or what is known as piece-mill policies – keep your ears open for them.

Sen. Richard J. Durbin (D-Ill.) said: “The man came in promising change. He has a higher profile than some presidents because of his youth, his race and the way he came to the White House with the message he brought in. It’s naive to believe he can step back and have some Cabinet secretary be the face of the oil spill. The buck stops with his office.”

No Dick, the buck passing, finger pointing, not me mentality starts with his office.

Rangel Round Up

Tax Cheat Rangel at his private resort

House panel hits Rangel with 13 ethics charges

House investigators accused veteran New York Rep. Charles Rangel of 13 violations of congressional ethics standards on Thursday, throwing a cloud over his four-decade political career and raising worries for fellow Democrats about the fall elections.

The allegations — which include failure to report rental income from vacation property in the Dominican Republic and to report more than $600,000 in assets on his congressional financial disclosure statements — came as lawyers for Rangel and the House ethics committee worked on a plea deal.

One was struck, people familiar with the talks said, but Republicans indicated it was too late.

Damn straight it’s too late – this fat lazy corrupt scumbag living off the taxpayers succulent boob need to go to jail for abuse of office, lying, thieving, tax evasion and any damn thing else I can think of  – but as always under Queen Pelosi he’ll end up getting a little pat on the wrist with the Botox bitch standing over him saying – “Now Charlie don’t do that again … at least don’t get caught. (wink-wink)”

Rangle like so many in congress that have been there to long on BOTH side of the aisle who are of the opinion they are above the law and somehow those silly ethics rules, laws and taxes only applies to the “little people” like you and me.

Rangel and so many more like him need to go – I’m thinking drawing and quartering.

“Tax Cuts for the Rich” rebranded “Middle Class Tax Cuts”

Democrats to Propose Extending Middle-Class Tax Cuts

Senate Democrats will soon advance a plan to make permanent President George W. Bush’s 2001 tax cuts for middle-class Americans earning less than $200,000, but let the tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans expire, two Senate party aides said Tuesday. They will also propose to reinstate a 45% estate tax on individuals for the next two years.

Oh hell no – Obama and every damn Democrat have been calling the Bush Tax Cuts… “tax cuts for the rich” since the day Bush signed them  they never-ever mentioned tax cuts for people making less then $200,000 in fact they’ve painted them ONLY for the rich so not only does the truth come out they have now figured out when push comes to shove that raising taxes ACTUALLY hunts the economy – WOW who would have thunk it?

But as always the Democrats are laying a trap for the GOP…

Democrats are betting that Republicans will once again take up a legislative battle on behalf of the wealthy. “Republicans are going to have a real choice ahead of them,” says a Democratic aide. “Are you for extending these tax cuts for middle-class families or are you against them because you want to protect tax cuts for the wealthiest 1% of Americans?”

First of all two-thirds of the so-called wealthiest American are small business filing as a sole proprietorship’s on their personal 1040 – they are not wealthy, they are not rich and after all the overhead and taxes they are not even middle-class. I know a lot of small business people that make over $250K per year but that is in gross sales, now deduct about half of that for goods and services, now deduct contract labor, insurance, fees, permits, licenses, utilities, maintaining equipment, building cost, taxes and taxes and taxes etc etc etc and a lot of these guys are lucky to make $25K-$30K take home a year but they are being taxed at the highest “rich guy” rate and being labeled as evil by this administration.

90%…. 90% of all jobs are created by small business and this moron in the White House is doing every damn thing he can to kill small business. Raising taxes in this economy along with all the changes in the tax laws next year is going to be devastating to business.

As I’ve said a hundred times we do not need to raise taxes on the few – we need to tax the 47% of American that are currently not paying any taxes at all, they need to have some skin in the game. The people that have money i.e. the so-called rich are the very people the invest in business, expend business and hire people. No one ever got a job from a poor person and if Obama has his why we’ll all be poor. Currently we have a consumer based economy and we need to move away from that and get back to becoming a production based economy. I don’t need to remind you that when Reagan cut taxes after second worst President ever Jimmy Carter the economy took off and receipts to the government sky rocketed – now the worst President ever Barack Obama wants to raise taxes in a sinking economy – the man is an absolute idiot if not purposely killing our economy.

Some Democrats side with Republicans, distance themselves from Obama on extending Bush tax cuts

You’ve known it, I’ve known it and now we have proof…

Obama Press Love Fest

… the Mainstream media is in the liberal tank and henceforth known as PHONY JOURNALIST.

Journolist… Yes but the Reporters at Pravda weren’t such Insufferable Assholes

No steadfast journalism rule is unbendable when it comes to justifying and protecting the racket that is modern journalism, specifically, political journalism in the United States today. The ends justify the means for the Democrat Media Complex. They lie when they claim to be objective. They lie when they claim to be unbiased, because these so called “truth seekers” are guilty of engaging in open political warfare. And when the whistle is blown, they simply double down. “Journolist” — like Media Matters, but more insidious, if that’s possible — is an attempt to put the genie back in the bottle, technology and “the masses” uncovered the conspiracy:

Documents show media plotting to kill stories about Rev. Jeremiah Wright (THIS IS A MUST READ)

Chris Hayes of The Nation…

“Our country disappears people. It tortures people. It has the blood of as many as one million Iraqi civilians — men, women, children, the infirmed — on its hands. You’ll forgive me if I just can’t quite dredge up the requisite amount of outrage over Barack Obama’s pastor,” Hayes wrote.

The there is Spencer Ackerman…

“Part of me doesn’t like this shit either,” agreed Spencer Ackerman, then of the Washington Independent. “But what I like less is being governed by racists and warmongers and criminals.”

Ackerman went on:

I do not endorse a Popular Front, nor do I think you need to. It’s not necessary to jump to Wright-qua-Wright’s defense. What is necessary is to raise the cost on the right of going after the left. In other words, find a rightwinger’s [sic] and smash it through a plate-glass window. Take a snapshot of the bleeding mess and send it out in a Christmas card to let the right know that it needs to live in a state of constant fear. Obviously I mean this rhetorically.

And I think this threads the needle. If the right forces us all to either defend Wright or tear him down, no matter what we choose, we lose the game they’ve put upon us. Instead, take one of them — Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and call them racists. Ask: why do they have such a deep-seated problem with a black politician who unites the country? What lurks behind those problems? This makes *them* sputter with rage, which in turn leads to overreaction and self-destruction.

Oh yeah – when you have no argument to defend a proven racist like Jeremiah Wright, play the race card on the right – it’s typical of the left that they can’t defend their position so they try divert the argument into calling the conservative a racist solely on the grounds the right doesn’t like Obama’s policies. It’s a laughable tactic but to me conservatives spend too much time taking the bait and proclaiming they are not, instead of deflecting the false charges and realize that the loony liberal is out of reason, has no facts and resorting to the irrational tactic of name calling. It’s all they have left.

Anywho…

Kevin Drum, then of Washington Monthly, also disagreed with Ackerman’s strategy. “I think it’s worth keeping in mind that Obama is trying (or says he’s trying) to run a campaign that avoids precisely the kind of thing Spencer is talking about, and turning this into a gutter brawl would probably hurt the Obama brand pretty strongly. After all, why vote for him if it turns out he’s not going change the way politics works?”

But it was Ackerman who had the last word. “Kevin, I’m not saying OBAMA should do this. I’m saying WE should do this.”

Yea Ackerman that’s the media job – campaigning for a candidate under the banner of reporting – pathetic.

Liberal journalists suggest government shut down Fox News

But if that man was Rush Limbaugh, and you were Sarah Spitz, a producer for National Public Radio, that isn’t what you’d do at all.

In a post to the list-serv Journolist, an online meeting place for liberal journalists, Spitz wrote that she would “Laugh loudly like a maniac and watch his eyes bug out” as Limbaugh writhed in torment.

… and they call us the haters? I think they need to have a no heart to heart in the mirror. I hear plenty of libs wishing some conservatives dead – but I have yet to hear creditable claim of a conservative doing the same.

In the summer of 2009, agitated citizens from across the country flocked to town hall meetings to berate lawmakers who had declared support for President Obama’s health care bill. For most people, the protests seemed like an exercise in participatory democracy, rowdy as some of them became.

On Journolist, the question was whether the protestors were garden-variety fascists or actual Nazis.

“You know, at the risk of violating Godwin’s law, is anyone starting to see parallels here between the teabaggers and their tactics and the rise of the Brownshirts?” asked Bloomberg’s Ryan Donmoyer. “Esp. Now that it’s getting violent? Reminds me of the Beer Hall fracases of the 1920s.”

What violence? The only violence I’ve seen has came from groups like the liberal SEIU and looney left agitators – anyone remember the G20 in Philly or Canada? It damn sure what conservatives protesting for more social justice global handouts. Not to forget they so-called phony journalist using derogatory terms to describe tax paying citizens using their constitution right to disagree. What douche bags.

Richard Yeselson, a researcher for an organized labor group who also writes for liberal magazines, agreed. “They want a deficit driven militarist/heterosexist/herrenvolk state,” Yeselson wrote. “This is core of the Bush/Cheney base transmorgrified into an even more explicitly racialized/anti-cosmopolitan constituency. Why? Um, because the president is a black guy named Barack Hussein Obama. But it’s all the same old nuts in the same old bins with some new labels: the gun nuts, the anti tax nuts, the religious nuts, the homophobes, the anti-feminists, the anti-abortion lunatics, the racist/confederate crackpots, the anti-immigration whackos (who feel Bush betrayed them) the pathological government haters (which subsumes some of the othercategories, like the gun nuts and the anti-tax nuts).”

“I’m not saying these guys are capital F-fascists,” added blogger Lindsay Beyerstein, “but they don’t want limited government. Their desired end looks more like a corporate state than a rugged individualist paradise. The rank and file wants a state that will reach into the intimate of citizens when it comes to sex, reproductive freedom, censorship, and rampant incarceration in the name of law and order.”

Boy talk about pigeon holing a entire class of people into covenant little categories – whereas with the sole term alone of “anti-cosmopolitan” this writer is saying anyone outside the city limits of the metropolitan areas are backwoods morons fearmongers, but I’m willing to bet Yeselson as spend very little time outside his mom basement, better yet rural America.

When the writer Victor Davis Hanson wrote an article about immigration for National Review, for example, blogger Ed Kilgore didn’t even bother to grapple with Hanson’s arguments. Instead Kilgore dismissed Hanson’s piece out of hand as “the kind of Old White Guy cultural reaction that is at the heart of the Tea Party Movement. It’s very close in spirit to the classic 1970s racist tome, The Camp of the Saints, where White Guys struggle to make up their minds whether to go out and murder brown people or just give up.”

Again the cry of “racist” is all they have and it doesn’t stick – they can’t argue that the country is not going broke, that the stimulus failed, that unemployment is still sky high. that the vast majority of people do not want ObamaCare, that they do not want Cap and Tax, and that Obama is a failing, lying President not because he is half black but because he is all liar, inept and in over his head.

“I am genuinely scared” of Fox, wrote Guardian columnist Daniel Davies, because it “shows you that a genuinely shameless and unethical media organisation *cannot* be controlled by any form of peer pressure or self-regulation, and nor can it be successfully cold-shouldered or ostracised. In order to have even a semblance of control, you need a tough legal framework.” Davies, a Brit, frequently argued the United States needed stricter libel laws.

So FoxNews needs to be shut down just because they will not conform to liberal peer pressure – remember it was Obama and Robert Gibbs that tried to label FoxNews as NOT a media/news outlet. Perhaps they too were on the journalist listservre.

“I agree,” said Michael Scherer of Time Magazine. Roger “Ailes understands that his job is to build a tribal identity, not a news organization. You can’t hurt Fox by saying it gets it wrong, if Ailes just uses the criticism to deepen the tribal identity.”

Of course you can’t say Fox gets it wrong all to often they don’t – and while the lib media generally gets it wrong which can be proven time and time again, you never see them debunk Fox with facts – because facts and liberals are like oil and water, they don’t mix. (BTW Fox Corrected the Sherrod story – I’ve yet to hear the MSM correct a story that was blatantly false.)

Jonathan Zasloff, a law professor at UCLA, suggested that the federal government simply yank Fox off the air. “I hate to open this can of worms,” he wrote, “but is there any reason why the FCC couldn’t simply pull their broadcasting permit once it expires?”

And so a debate ensued. Time’s Scherer, who had seemed to express support for increased regulation of Fox, suddenly appeared to have qualms: “Do you really want the political parties/white house picking which media operations are news operations and which are a less respectable hybrid of news and political advocacy?”

But Zasloff stuck to his position. “I think that they are doing that anyway; they leak to whom they want to for political purposes,” he wrote. “If this means that some White House reporters don’t get a press pass for the press secretary’s daily briefing and that this means that they actually have to, you know, do some reporting and analysis instead of repeating press releases, then I’ll take that risk.”

Man can you believe all that crap? That’s the loony left media – they’d rather be a branch of the liberal government than protect and inform the citizenry. Phony journalist is all they are.
