Beck’s 8-28 Rally thoughts and things

So did you go to or watch the 8-28 event that Glenn Beck had? I watched it on C-SPAN – I would have liked to have gone but time, money and scheduling wouldn’t permit it, but as soon as I’m caught up I will have nothing to do which is the joy and stress of self employment – and I DO NOT need any more stress right now, but that’s a story for another day.

So anyway I’m watching Glenn on TV  Saturday and Glenn being Glenn was choking back tears and putting forth the doctrine that we need to get back to God – I’m not one to talk a lot about God and religion after all it is said you never talk about religion and politics and I’ve alienated enough people talking about both, so I tend to stick to just one volatile subject – politics. As you know Glenn’s rally was more about faith and religion than it was politics and that’s fine. His current mission is “faith, hope and charity” and I get how those play into rebuilding America. Then Monday morning I was going to stay home a little later and work on my books – so I when to “Streaming Radio Guide” to stream Glenn’s show and it wasn’t there. Well it was there under conservative shows as it had been for years and at the top of the page I saw a link to a post from the guy (Art Stone) that started Streaming Radio Guide…

Where did Glenn Beck go?

Today Glenn told us we have to choose.  Either you believe that the U.S. is based on Deuteronomy and the Law of Moses or you are an enemy of God and the United States.

When any group or person says “You’re with me or you’re against me”, I’m against you.   Glenn is now way over the line in turning his program into a religious preaching forum.

You can now find his program under the category Religion.

Well I watched the rally and that is not the message I came away with and judging by the 100′s of comments to the post he made I’d say a lot of other people failed to hear that message too. While I could go back and quote sections of Glenn’s rally and say I THINK he meant this or that it would be pointless. My take on the rally was that we as a nation regardless of religious or non-religious beliefs need to get back to the fundamental principles that made this country great in the first place.

So based on Art Stone’s rather rigid ideology of “You’re with me or you’re against me” … I think Streaming Radio Guide is the great site ever and you are either with me or against me on that.” What say you Art? (Art by default would have to be against me – it’s you’re own words.)

I digress…

Now granted it at times I think Beck wanders too far down the preaching path and injects more religion than politics into his show but it’s his show he can do what he want’s… the irony is that a so called Preacher Al “Not-So” Sharpton had a rally too and claimed that Glenn Beck was desecrating the day. Disrespecting the day? That 8-28 was their day, that Beck was destroying the honor of Martin Luther King Jr – and to add to the irony Beck had one of King’s relatives speak at the Restoring Honor Rally – there were no King’s relatives at Sharpton’s Rally and just what does ‘Not-So’ Sharpton mean when he refers to 8-28 as “their” day? Who are “they”? The blacks? Somehow I don’t think that was Dr King’s message – one of division and separation in fact I thought that was what he was against. Maybe Sharpton knows more than every one else does, but I doubt it.

Sharpton and the Main Stream Media went on to criticize Beck and Sharpton appeared on O-Reilly and for once Bill called Sharpton on his BS… complaining that there were to many White people at Becks Rally – but no one pointed out that Sharpton’s Rally was predominately Black – but really would you expect racial diversity in a rally from a well known poverty pimp and race hustler.

At Lincoln Memorial, a Call for Religious Rebirth

Across town, several hundred people, most of them black, packed a football field at Dunbar High School to commemorate Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

“We come here because the dream has not been achieved,” said the Rev. Al Sharpton, the civil rights activist. “We’ve had a lot of progress. But we have a long way to go.”

Referring to Mr. Beck’s event, he added, “They want to disgrace this day.”

Glenn Beck crowd: Not so white as advertised

Here is a question – MLK spoke 47 years ago and I was 3 days old so I didn’t go – Sharpton has had 47 year to hold a rally and he hasn’t until Beck held his – why?

Al Sharpton aside I think something like a half a million people attended Beck Rally (Sharpton had a few 100) another 100,000 plus watched in on UpStream and I have no idea how many watched on C-SPAN as I did – make note that C-SPAN was real careful not to show the size of the crowd. But aside from not hearing about one single arrest it would seem that those evil right-wing conservatives that attended Beck’s rally left the DC Mall cleaning than they found it.

Glenn Beck’s Happy Warriors

After the event, walking from the Lincoln Memorial’s reflecting pool through Constitution Gardens, this reporter scanned 360 degrees and could not see a scrap of trash anywhere. Participants and volunteers had collected all their refuse and left it piled neatly in bags around the public garbage cans. Near Constitution Avenue, I did encounter one stray piece of paper—but too old and faded to have been left that day.

How dare they pick up after themselves – remember what the mall looked like after Obama love fest in Jan 2009 – remember? Check out the way-back machine to see. Quite the difference between tax paying conservatives and handout hippies of progressive liberals isn’t it?

All in all the Beck rally was in my opinion anticlimactic on TV as most events are it was just one of those things that you really had to be at to get the full effect – the real entertainment has been watching the left try and make head or tails out of the event all these people being nice to one another and not demanding handouts… crazy.

Oh one last thought – Obama said he didn’t pay any attention to the rally, but the people that attended are full of anxiety – whatever Barry. You know this event made Dopey drop a load in his Huggies.

Movie of the Week #24 – Joe Dirt

JOE DIRT

You may recall David Spade as put is neck on the line with liberal Hollyweird and gave the city of Phoenix a $100,000 to buy guns which could cause him to be ostracized by the lily-livered left in Hollyweird that hates guns but make movie after movie of shoot’em up full automatic films – hypocrites.

Anyway – Joe Dirt, love this movie and has just the right amount of stupidity to be enjoyable without causing brain damage. If you’ve never seen this movie it’s about…

Joe’s search for his family has him hittin’ the road and keepin’ it real with every lowlife he meets, including a sweet hottie, a janitor, and a psychotic cannibal with whom he has a brief interlude. Through it all, Joe keeps on truckin’ . . . all the way to L.A., where a shock jock DJ (Dennis Miller) targets Joe as the butt of his show. But Joe’s plucky spirit encourages listeners to cheer him on and help him find a better family than the one he thought he wanted. Rock on!

There are a few more conservative in this movie – but I’ll let you find them.

KY: Rand Paul WINS! PA: Arlen Specter is GONE!

Rand Paul wins the Kentucky GOP primary over Trey Grayson – well actually Rand slaughter Grayson in the primary 59% to 35%. He will now face Jack CONway (Maybe still to close to call) in the fall some might remember that Jack Conway has his own version of the US Constitution which will be an issue in the general election… but we’ll get more into that later. I am enjoying reading the liberal and establishment republicans as they freak out and call Paul’s win “troubling

For now CONGRATULATIONS Rand see on the campaign trail!

In other good news Arlen Specter is GONE and Blanche Lincoln has to do a run off election which will cost her.

Contract with America?

What is it with Sean Hannity’s obsession with “Newt Gingrich’s Contract with America”? I get sick of hearing it and I’ll tell you why – in 1994 the 104th Republican Congress put forth “The Contract with America” the general premise with a good idea accept for the fact it didn’t take them long to break the contract and act like Democrat’s so every time I hear the phrase “The Contract with America” it just leaves me empty. The way I see it is that you don’t bitch slap me with a broken promise and then roll back around a few years later and make the same damn promise and expect me to believe it. You don’t drag back into the forefront a Albatross that drug you down before and you don’t bring it back as the same name or slap a new name on it – or as it can be said you don’t put lipstick on a pig, not that the original “The Contract with America” is or was a pig it’s just the Newt Gringrich and many others made it a pig by ignoring it’s pledges.

Let me ask you without looking it up can you tell me what “The Contract with America” was about? Or do you remember it as a huge promise the GOP broke? For me it’s the latter and the bonehead Hannity keeps pushing it and pushing it over and over again – stop it! Don’t get me wrong I like Hannity but honestly he’s not the sharpest tool in the shed and I say that with great specificity.(But that’s another rant)

So what to do? Well first screw your contacts they aren’t worth the paper the they are written on. I think we’ve all had enough empty promises from politicians to last us a lifetime and then some. What we need is people not politicians with a proven track record of stating their position and keeping their word. I’m sick of listening to soapbox stump speeches that I know are lies – I want a to see people in Washington that say what they mean and mean what they say. Enough of listening to the day-in day-out rhetoric of BS. Vote for me and I’ll do this for you! Screw that what re you going to do for the country?

See I’m old school I believe that if you give someone your word your keep it – and if for some reason you have to break your word as it does happen you explain yourself fully and honestly as to why. I can handle disappointment if they are honest about why they failed 0 excuses are like asshole everyone got one and they all stink – and Washington smells pretty bad right now. I get so tired of hearing candidate telling me what they are going to do when they go to Washington – stuff they can’t do without a majority vote – I’ve give you and example here in my state Trey Grayson is running for Senate and he is running smear commercials on Rand Paul – he states that he (Grayson) is going to go to Washington and cut waste, cut spending and save social security and Medicare all alone like Superman – well Trey you’re not – so tell me how Trey? How the hell you going to do that alone when you’ll need the majority of the remaining 534 congressmen to go along? That is one of my biggest pet peeves with politicians – be honest and don’t tell me you are going to do something your can’t do! Show me a plan, tell me how you are going to attract support and be honest that you can’t do it alone all you can do is try.

It’s better to have tried and failed and to have lied and failed.

So don’t tell me about any Contract with America – I don’t want to hear it – I don’t want to hear anything I want to see action and I’m thinking I’m not alone as contracts are easily broken but once you’ve broken your word – your done buh-bye.

Michael Steele plays the race card

The one things most conservatives have little use for is the the “race card” it a weak defense of a desperate accuser. The race care which is the favorite weapon of the left is now being played by RNC chairman Michael Steele. That’s really pathetic…

Michael Steele calls his critics racist

RNC chair Michael Steele defended his spending practices Monday morning, saying he has no plan to resign, and at one point suggesting that criticism of his tenure may be rooted in racism.

No Michael it’s rooted in ability not racism. Under Michael Steele’s leadership the RNC back Dede Scozzafava, John McCain and others that are questionable choices, here in my own state they’ve backed former democrat and lifer politician Trey Grayson – in fact the RNC has been on the wrong side of the rank and file conservatives Republicans choices many times. Under Steele the GOP’s coffers have shrunk dramatically. However Steele rejects this notion and plays the old and tired Obama “inherited” card on top of race card.

Steele rejected the notion that the RNC has spent more money than taken in. “No, I had more money left over at the end of the— I had a budget, I inherited a budget that had zero dollars left at the end of 2009.”

FEC filings show that Steele began his tenure in January 2009 with $22.8 million, and has since raised $96.2 million. During the same period, however, the RNC has spent $109.6 million, for a deficit of $13.4 million. A March 20 FEC filing shows the RNC has $9.5 million cash on hand.

It’s a rare, rare day I agree with Robert Gibbs but the White House spokesman said in Steele’s race claim the other day. “That is a fairly silly comment to make. I think Michael Steele’s problem isn’t the race card, it’s the credit card.” Well said Gibbs – it’s the first thing you’ve said I’ve ever agreed with.

What Steele and so many others fail to realize is that stupidity doesn’t have a skin color. Playing the race card is racist itself, it tells me you see things through the prism of skin color. As Erick Erickson over at Red State said in his post “Go With the Army You Have”

I did not support Michael Steele for Chairman of the Republican Party, but was perfectly happy to give him a chance to prove himself. That all pretty much went out the window the moment he decided to start throwing the race card around against Republicans when feeling threatened.

Yep, as soon as a minority or anyone for the matter plays the race card, I have little use for them and write them off weak and pathetic.

If Steele can’t do any better than that to defend his actions then he needs to go and it’s not because he is black, it’s because he is stupid.

More on Steele here…

Ken Blackwell: I can’t believe Steele’s playing the race card; Update: Barbour piles on
Former RNC official: Steele struck a deal with Michigan GOP to increase fundraising numbers, possibly to circumvent federal funding limits

The Party of Clueless

Find a paw print and get a clue -

If you live in a rural area which just happens to make the vast majority of America’s landmass you hear some completely clueless ideas coming out of Washington and the liberal left – these people have no idea what it is like to live in the county far from an urban area and base many of their ideas on a urban mindset and now that we have a bunch of urbanites in Washington D.C. they are putting forth ideas and policies that just make no sense to rural American and they have the nerve to act surprised.

For the record I’m not saying everyone that lives in a major metropolitan area is completely clueless – but I find it odd just how much many of them take for granted. And it is the main disconnect between the mainly liberal urban areas and the mainly conservative rural areas. Folks in the country understand being self reliant because more often than not you have to do it yourself – there is no one to call and if you want it done you need to do it yourself.

(Random thought since these dumbass reality shows are all the rage – make one where they pluck a couple of libby-lib urbanites up out of there 24 hour delivery serve world and drop them down in a world where they roll up the sidewalks at 5PM. A world where if you want organic vegetable – you grow them.  A world where a free range chicken comes out of the back yard and if you want wild rabbit – you hunt it. Now that would be entertainment!)

Here is some examples -first off the ominous food desert – hear about this? A “food desert” now doesn’t that just conjure up images of a guy in ragged clothing crawling on his hands and knees across an apocalyptic wasteland with a outstretched hand mouthing the word “organic carrot” please help me? It sounds awful…  “food desert” – well anyway I was listening to the First Troll Michelle “ya’ know” Obama and as it turns out the food desert is an area of 1.4 square miles without a grocer — not a radius – a square mile! I know of corn field bigger than 1.4 square miles (894 acres) … so I have to wonder if a 894 acre field of corn is a food desert? There isn’t a grocery store so I guess it is – oh God I’ll starve in a sea of corn the horror!

Peapod Aims to Eradicate Food Deserts

In 2009, The “Chicago Food Desert Progress Report” discovered that the city’s food desert has shrunk by 1.4 square miles, benefiting almost 24,000 people, but over 600,000 individuals, most of them African-American, still reside in food deserts.

Oh well naturally it effect Blacks more than anyone else – what are the odds of that? Doesn’t everything these days? Must be George Bush’s fault. If 1.4 square miles is a food desert then I’d love to know what I live in as I’m about 9 miles one way from a small grocery store and 13 miles one way from a semi-major grocer and if I want a real fancy grocer with all the fixin’ I’m guessing I’d have to go about 100 miles or so one way to find that – I must be on food Pluto or something worse and yet I never go hungry – how weird is that? Food desert – give me a break! To me a food desert is being more than a three days walk from food and if you can hunt, fish and forage then food deserts should be a pretty rare location. – sad people are so helpless.

Then again I have the power of the internet and can have most things I’d like delivered to my door – now how handy is that? You’d think that some of these people in the 1.4 square mile desert would figure that out. Oh that’s right they don’t take food stamps online – bummer huh?

Now Ray LaHood who claims to be a republican but has not proof in his actions – remember Ray he wanted to tax people by the mile. Well Ray thinks we should all ride bikes to work.

Begun, The Bike-Car Wars Have

Once again some urbanite liberal with no understanding of the actual size of the country and no understanding that a great many people to not live within a city block of everything they need and many people in rural areas my have to travel 25 or more miles one way to work each day. No I ask you would you want to spend the day working next to someone that just came off a 25 mile bike ride in southern humidity? I think not. Additionally there is a lot of people that go to work with something more than a cellphone and I’d be interested for Mr. LaHood showing me just how I’m am to get all of my tools on a bike – not to mention lumber, drywall, bags of cement, bricks, etc etc … I’d really like to see how that is to be done.

If you want to ride a bike to work – great do it, but don’t cram it down my throat and that is one of the many differences in conservatives and liberals. Conservatives want to be left alone to live their life the way they want to live it and they in turn will leave you alone, liberals on the other hand think anything they are doing to live their life then by God you need to do it too and they’ll damn make sure you know it too. Yes, they’ll tell you to use one square of toilet paper to wipe your behind or eat tofu or soy something that they call food – liberals are only happy if they are forcing their views and beliefs on you… that the real difference between “us and them.”

LaHood also went on to babble about taking public transportation, trolleys, trams, trains, subway etc etc … I might also point out to LaHood that many towns don’t have those things – the town I live near doesn’t even have a taxi, not one! No buses, no trolleys, no trams, no rickshaw – nothing. But some of these urban liberals are clueless to this fact and I can not tell you just how many transportation arguments I’ve gotten in with liberals and just don’t grasp the reality that some towns do not have the option of public transportation – way don’t they get it? It’s because they have never ventured out beyond the boarders of their metropolitan borders and comfort zone.

As I said earlier I’d love to see one of these Bay area libs try to survive in the world with no Starbucks, no buses, no trolleys, no 24/7 delivery and oddly enough no homeless – whatever would they do?

Anyway the list goes on and on and I’d just like to say to Michelle Obama, Ray LaHood and any clueless urban liberal that thinks they know best how I should live in rural America – shut the **** up, thank you.

A couple of thoughts about Mittens

In the wake of this past weekends CPAC the talk has already started about the 2012 GOP Presidential nominee – I think it’s a bit early – ok way to early but I’ll bite and post about perspective candidates from time to time. First up Mitt Romney who came in second in the straw poll after Ron Paul which I’m still not sure how that happen – not Romney coming in second but Paul coming in first. Ron is a great guy but first in the straw poll?

I’ll admit in 2008 I liked Romney I knew we needed a business guy as I and many others saw this financial mess barreling down the road, somehow the message was changed to national security and McCain got the nod – how Mr. Amnesty, Mr. No Waterboarding managed that is beyond me. Here today Romney is endorsing McCain for Senate? What can I say that Rush didn’t already say? Nothing…

El Rushbo said…

I like Mitt Romney, but I think he’s risking his career over a guy, endorsing McCain, who is so out of step with what’s going on right now. McCain’s always conservative when he’s running for reelection in Arizona. The tea parties have produced a wave of conservatism that have swept Republicans-in-name-only aside. I understand Palin endorsing McCain. She’s got no choice. Loyalty, plus if she doesn’t the media will cream her, “Oh, he’s good enough to be president but you won’t endorse him to be Senator?” And it’s understandable Romney would endorse Brown, but I don’t understand Romney endorsing McCain. I just don’t think it’s going to fly. These endorsements are unnecessary. What is there to gain by this? Look, it’s unfortunate, but people are weeding themselves out of the process all the while engaging in this kind of behavior. So in one sense it has a cleansing aspect to it.

Now on Romney I wasn’t 100% sold I was mainly looking at his business sense, but with release of his new book “No Apologies: The Case for American Greatness” and with his endorsement of McCain I’m not sure I can get on his band wagon until Read more…

MOVIE OF THE WEEK #5 – Bordello of Blood

Ah man I almost forgot the movie of the week and that would be tragic and bad things would happen. What bad things I don’t know but it would be something.

Bordello of Blood (1996)

Well I’ve ragged on Bill O’Reilly the last couple of days, but one thing O’Reilly does I like is he has Dennis Miller and “Miller Time” on his show and that I like – as former lib now conservative Miller can pull up some of the most obscure cultural references you can imagine I can only guess he spent a lot of time watching TV as a child.

Anyway this weeks Movie of the Week is Bordello of Blood from 1996 it’s a Tales from the Crypt movie and has more gratuitous T&A than your 1980′s teeny film. Miller is fairly funny but over all it is low budget, half-ass acted, corny dialog, cheezy film that hoped to grain viewership with scantly clad shapely busty babes – hey it worked I have the DVD which you can get at Big Lot’s for $3.00 by the way. It’s a flick about a funeral home that is a front for a whorehouse run by vampires and Miller plays a cut rate private eye hired to find out what happen to his sexy clients missing bother that went missing, what a plot huh? Over all it’s a fun mostly brainless film that easily kills hour and half.

Rated R for cheezy horror violence and gore, sexuality, T&A nudity and strong language.

It’s Teapublican Party Time

Tea-publicans or Teapublicans was originally coined by the progressive Kool-Aid liberal media, so what – I say embrace it as that would do more to annoy them than anything else we could do… they want you to be upset and waste time complaining – screw’em embrace it, confuse them and  move on.
Maddow Invents New Terms to Degrade Conservatives: GOP-Baggers, Tea-Publicans

In the coming 2010 election and the next few after that it’s time for the Teapublican Party to shine. To increase their efforts from getting involved to getting elected, it’s fine to protest and write you elected representatives but they aren’t listening and as the movement grows more and more mainstream borderline republicans are going to try and hook their wagon to the group and the way I’ve seen it – they have had their chance and they blew it. (Right Newt?) So while the odds of a grassroots Teapublican being a viable candidate at the national level is slim there is a increased opportunity to get involved at state and local levels. I’m not talking third party just so you understand that’s the fast lane to defeat, I’m talking running as a republican on the GOP ticket, okay got it?

More and more Teapublicans are running for school boards, city counsels, county boards, county commissioners, local and state offices as for far to long the GOP candidates of choice have trickled down from the top level such as the RNC and establishment republicans. Their picks often mimic themselves and end with disastrous results giving the country more of the same and not the change so needed.

In my own State (Commonwealth) of Kentucky the establishment GOP has tapped long time politician and former democrat Read more…
