Looking over StimulusWatch.org’s list of mayoral request for money you begin to see a pattern of stupid, greed, pet projects and flat out waste.

If you look at the the requested projects you’ll find a lot, a bunch of projects that create ZERO jobs.

Let’s have a look at a few …

$7,000,000.00 for Landfill Methane Recovery Project in Anchorage, AK I’m sorry isn’t Sarah Palin always telling us about the huge amounts of oil and natural gas in Alaska? Yes, then why do we need to recover methane when you have oil and natural gas?

$4,000,000.00 for LED Streetlight Pilot Program- To change out our street lights to LED fixtures in Avondale, AZ … Hey, Avondale use CFL bulbs and stop whining. $4 million bucks? I don’t think so.

$500,000.00 for Lights for Walking Trail - The city is requesting funds to install solar-powered character lighting along a walking trail to make it safe and appealing to residents and tourists during evening hours in Pine Bluff, AR. … Hey I’ve got three words for you … Use a flashlight.

$10,000,000 for Energy Efficient/Green Public Aquatics Center at John Anson Ford Park. Complete Renovation of an existing outdoor seasonal olympic size public pool, to an indoor, energy efficient Olympic size pool with lighting, HVAC and filtering system for pool system in Bell Garden, CA …. What? You’re what 10-20 minutes from the beach? Go to the beach and close the pool. Man, are you people so lazy you can’t be bothered with waves?

$90.000 for Wind Turbine for Fire Station 21 in Colorado Springs, CO … Here an idea, put in a peddle power generator and exercise. You spend most of time setting around anyway.

$1,700,000 for School window replacemnt (sic) in West Hartford, CT … first teach your kids and yourself to spell “replacement” then we’ll talk about windows. Let’s be real, open the windows and get some fresh air, I’ve been to CT many time, trust me you need it.

The cars are part of the City of Boulder, Boulder County and the University of Colorado fleets. A mix of onboard V2G technology and smart in Boulder CO. …. Smart? Where? Excuse me? $6 million to convert 60 cars? That’s $100,000 per car … buy new freaking cars you moron! Smart my ass.

$750,000,000.00 to Railyards Tunnel / Connection to Old Sac in Sacramento, CA … $750 MILLION for 15 jobs? $750 MILLION for 15 jobs? You’ve got to be kidding me! That’s $5,000,000.00 per job, can you say no.

$7,000,000.00 to Completely renovate Frank House Golf Course (Municipal). Replace greens. Landscape. Public facilities in Bessemer, AL … And this create jobs how? You want to renovate a golf course raise the green fees.

To be fair let’s look at my own state the Commonwealth of Kentucky

$200,000.00 For the proposed project is to construct a restroom facility in the Heart of Downtown Hopkinsville that will service the many amenities that are currently available. The proposed facility would be erected in close proximity to outdoor facilities. …. What? Go to the Library or the Courthouse if you need to take a dump. I lived in Hopkinville for while, downtown sucks.

This is just a very few, there are 1000′s and 1000′s of them … grab a roll of duct tape or two and have a look and find out where they want your money to go and greed grab your state is making.
