Poll Shows Americans Split On Whether Their Income Taxes Are Too High
The poll, which surveyed 1,020 adults April 8-11, found that 48% of Americans feel the amount of income tax they pay is currently too high. Meanwhile, 45% said the amount they currently pay is about right, while only 3% felt the amount is too low.
Well that’s odd ….45% say the amount they pay is about right – hmm?
47% will pay no federal income tax
In 2009, roughly 47% of households, or 71 million, will not owe any federal income tax, according to estimates by the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center.
So that explains 2 of the 3% that think their tax rate is too low – now who is the 1% that pays taxes that don’t feel it’s enough? I guess it comes down to the reality that odds are 1 in a 100 are crazy. See it’s easy to find 45% that say their tax right is about right when 47% don’t pay taxes — hell give me no liability and I’ll say mines about right too.
