MARTA ‘yellow line’ to Doraville angers some in Asian community
Asian-American activists offended that MARTA re-named the train line into the heart of Atlanta’s Asian community the “yellow line” will take their objections to the transit agency’s chief on Friday.
“Yellow,” as a term for skin color, carries a generally negative, racist connotation among Asians.
Oh give me a break and get the hell over it – it’s just a damn color. What next? Are we going to have to change the “red line” because it offends Indians? Maybe we need to change the name of the ‘green line’ because Martians are getting all pissed off – hell we’ve lost the rainbow to the gay crowd, I’m not going to start giving up other colors one at a time – No I don’t think so.
This is getting out of hand – we have had idiots claiming that the term “black hole” is racist then you have another dolt saying “black Friday” is racist. Jeebus, this hypersensitive-politically-correct mentality is destroying this country, as every little group with their heart on their sleeve has to be coddled and indulge for their manufactured outrage. Screw you get over it.

Maybe I as a white guy should get enraged about “white board” or “white out” or “white pages”? Why? I don’t know, who cares but dammit I’m outraged and appalled about these terms and I’m going to sue somebody if they aren’t changed – please! Which makes me wonder – is it racist to look up a Chinese restaurant in the “yellow pages”? Is the Olive Garden racist to Middle Easterns – if it is then surely the Red Lobster is racist to Indians and if the “Yellow Line” is offensive to Asians then is has to offensive to cowards too, but their just to afraid to speak up.

MARTA employs 13 people in its diversity office. They focus on equal opportunity in employment and disadvantaged business and perform some community outreach.
