A.D.D. Moment thought – since the Tea Party Convention is being held in Nashville (i.e. the South) shouldn’t it be called the Sweet Tea Party Convention? Just sayin’
Anyway….
Coming up next month the first ever National Tea Party Convention is to be held on February 4-6, 2010 at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN (Officially the event is SOLD OUT) and the majority of the press is NOT invited… you know that press that labeled the Tea Party attendees as teabaggers, Nazis and right-wing-nuts-jobs, yeah that same press that called them scary and frightening, the press that with the exception of FoxNews rarely if ever gave them fair, positive or any coverage at all, yep that same press that labeled them “monochromatic” and “racist” … yeah that’s the one and now they wonder why they aren’t invited to the convention?
But get this Sarah Palin is the keynote speaker and we all know what great, fair and unbiased press she as gotten from mainstream journalist… right? The media and journalist who has smeared, lied, assaulted and criticized Sarah Palin with every word she has uttered and they still wonder way they are not invited? Please and they call themselves investigative journalist, yet cannot do the math on that one… what a joke.
Here is the story…
Reporters (Mostly) Barred From Tea Party Convention
This really is unusual. As a journalist, I’ve been allowed into sessions, dinners, everything at conferences hosted by the Eagle Forum and by Focus on the Family. Extra credit to Eagle Forum here — when I was covering the How to Take Back America Conference in St. Louis, Phyllis Schlafly’s son Andy, an organizer, invited me away from my media seat and into a seat at his dinner table to chat with more activists. And some of the most controversial speakers at the National Tea Party Convention, like Rick Scarborough, happily chatted with me inside and outside of their sessions at previous events.
One major implication of this, of course, is that for the third time since the presidential election — the first at a speech in China, the second at a speech for a pro-life group in Indiana — Sarah Palin will give a political speech that members of the media are not allowed to attend. According to co-sponsors I’ve spoken with, they, not journalists will get to spend time with Palin before and after the speech.
Well boo-freaking-hoo you’re not invited… and now you whine like a little baby as to the obvious reason way – pathetic. Here is an idea… why don’t these so-called journalist do a story on media bias and the blowback resulting thereof.
As on commenter said…
Journalists who have become whores for the government are reaping what they have sown I guess!
You had it coming to you. We took it from a page from the current dictatorship – no transparency and step on anyone who disagrees.
Grow up and accept the consequences of your biased reporting.
Well said.
