Who to support in the Kentucky Senate race… hmmm?

As many may know Republican Jim Bunning of Kentucky is retiring from the Senate… actually he is being forced out but be that as it may I will admit Bunning can be a bit of a loose wire at times and he like so many in Washington have been there long enough. So who to replace him?

Not even going to waste my time on Jack Conway and Daniel Mongiardo both from the Democrat Party of Lies they both try to portray themselves as moderate blue dog democrats which couldn’t be further from the truth… they are progressive liberals plain and simple. Do you really want to put another person from the party of Nancy Pelosi, Harry “Negro” Reid, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Barack Obama etc in Washington…. really do you want that? I don’t, haven’t we seen enough of what their mentality can do to America, the economy and freedoms?

So anyway what about the Republicans?

First up we have Bill Johnson, he seems a nice enough guy but let’s face it he hasn’t got a chance. Sorry Bill just don’t see it in the cards for you this time around… perhaps start at the state level. I like his positions and his conservative attitude but the reality is he just doesn’t have the machine in place to run a statewide race.

Ok Trey Grayson… a former Democrat is currently trying to paint himself as a staunch conservative available to the unwashed masses. I’m not going to slam him as being a former Democrat, I am a former Democrat myself and most the people I know are Democrats as being in Kentucky that’s just what you do if you wanted to vote… that reality is changing…. so being a former member of Democrat party is one thing… having a modern progressive Democrat party mindset is another, remember Reagan was once a Democrat.

However with that in mind Grayson has neither been “Reagan Democrat” and in fact he was a 1992 Democrat Party delegate for Bill Clinton and only after the Democrats fell from favor in 1994 did Grayson switch to the Republican party. Seems to conjure up images and actions of Arlen Specter doesn’t it?

In August of 2009 I attended the Fancy Farm Picnic with the intention of supporting Grayson… but one of the things he did that really pissed me off was a window to the real Trey Grayson and right there he lost my support. What was it? Well his minion blocked cameras and voters view of Grayson while he mingled and I saw no reason for it… what did he think he was; royalty not to be gazed upon by the plebeians of the state? I spoke briefly to him and pointed this out, he appeared to care less and offered no excuse, and so I offer no support. You are just not that special Trey.

Here is the video of camera blocking by Grayson….

This election is about trust… what you hiding Trey?

Another thing about Grayson is he offers mixed positions on global warming and Cap and Trade, he claims on is website he is against Cap and Trade, but yet Grayson gave the keynote speech last year at Eastern Kentucky University as part of the National Focus the Nation event in which disgraced and ousted Obama Czar Van Jones was in attendance. Focus the Nation is a radical left-wing global warming alarmist group supported by a plethora of liberal democrats, which you can see the list on the right site of their home page. Focus the Nation supports Cap and Trade and are against coal and oil; two of the largest revenue producing products in Kentucky and provider of jobs to 1000′s of Kentucky families. So if Grayson is going to associate with the likes of Arlen Specter, Chris Dodd, Susan Collins, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Barbara Boxer, John Kerry and about a 100 others, is Grayson in favor of Cap and Trade or not? He has said one thing and he actions have said another, which is it?

Grayson believes that global warming is a real crisis even though the majority of American and Kentuckians do not in the wake of climate-gate and the failed Copenhagen climate summit; Grayson to date and to my knowledge has not backed off this junk science. Check outside it’s not that warm.

Oh by the way Kentucky’s own Rep. Ed “RINO” Whitfield and State Rep Ken Winters are two of the very few Republican that has participated in “Focus the Nation” events.  Focus the Nation is anti-coal, anti-oil, anti-natural gas group promoting their “Beyond Carbon Leadership” program to eliminate carbon energy.

Grayson also held a $500 a plate dinner in Washington attended by 17 Senator that supported the TARP bailouts. So this begs the question is Grayson raising money in Washington DC because he cares about Kentucky or does he care about Trey Grayson? Grayson’s father’s bank was also a recipient of TARP bailout money, but Trey said he’s against it… right.

Closing out Trey Grayson he has tried to make hay out of some rude anonymous user posting on one of Rand Paul’s staffers MySpace page and that is just reaching gutter politics and inter party fighting that has put this country in the position it finds itself currently. If this is the kind of campaign Grayson plans on running then he is no better than the Democrats he claims to be against. There is also a quote of Trey Grayson saying, “Remember, it’s the government’s money. It’s not your money!” What? Now to be 100% fair I haven’t seen this clip in total context so I’m not going to hang it around his neck or not until I do. Just food for thought.

But there is little point in dissecting everything Grayson since that is being accomplished here at this website.

Trey Grayson is for Trey Grayson and Kentucky can do better.

Now who is left… Rand Paul the son of Senator Ron Paul… who is the current leader in the polls has embraced the TEA Party as part of his platform, he is admittedly against Cap and Trade and said so publicly and unlike Grayson has no prior history of speaking for pro-Cap and Trade groups that would destroy Kentucky’s already weakened economy. Paul is for lower taxes, no bailouts and Campaign Finance Reform the latter is not mentioned on Grayson site anywhere, but Grayson did host a high dollar fund riser in Washington DC for his campaign not likely attended by many Kentuckians and more likely attended by lobbyist and Washington insiders. Campaign Finance Reform is to eliminate soft money from lobbyist and special interest… and it is needed.

So while I could give you a multitude of reasons to support Rand Paul and shun Trey Grayson it is in my opinion safe to say that Rand Paul comes closer to representing the growing distaste America has from Washington than does Grayson. I will put it this way I am a guy that believes what my gut tells me, it has rarely been wrong and in fact I cannot think of a time it has been wrong. When I met Trey Grayson at the Fancy Farm Picnic in August 2009 it just did not feel right, he came across as phony and disengaged with the “little people” whereas when I spoke to Rand Paul he seemed genuine and engaged with what those annoying unwashed masses had to say.

I have no doubt that some liberal blog or Trey Grayson supporter will make take issue with my support of Rand Paul based on nothing more than the name of this blog and knowing absolutely nothing about me.

So if you live in Kentucky or know voters here… vote for Rand Paul we need someone to represent real Americans and not those out to represent themselves. Trey Grayson is more concerned about Trey Grayson than he is Kentucky and we don’t need that.

Become a Facebook fan of Rand Paul here and if you cannot vote in Kentucky… how about a few bucks to help Rand out?
