Military Spending Weighs on Obama’s Afghan Decision

The cost estimates of adding 40,000 U.S. forces and increasing Afghan security are $40 to $54 billion a year according to officials, and even if less troops are sent, the White House formula would remain constant at about $1 million per soldier.

Does anyone other than liberals believe that? The average troops gets paid about $30,000 a year with combat pay/overseas pay and factoring in the equipment, the ammo, the transportation and various other cost MOST of which would be incurred anyway with or without a war you’d have a very hard time finding a $1,000,000.00 per troop, but as we seen the Obama administration is no stranger the fuzzy math. Actually I think it goes beyond fuzzy and gets deep into furry math.

The effectiveness of the stimulus can not be verified, the jobs claimed can’t be verified… in fact I can’t think of any claims coming out of the Obama White House as factually and based in reality. Now I’m going to call my Senator and ask for the number, I want to know what expenses above and beyond those expenses that would be charged to a peace time force are incurred in a war time force that makes up the $1,000,000.00 per troop… I was in a war time military and I can assure you the money spent on me adjusted for inflation likely wouldn’t top $100,000.00 … pay, food, transportation, equipment etc… most of which would have been spent anyway even if I never left the base… so I ask where is the $1,000,000.00 per soldier spent? I find the numbers exaggerated and bogus.

Obama, who has spent more than two months mulling Gen. Stanley McChrystal’s request for more troops, is under pressure by some Republicans to make a decision as soon as possible.

Two months? It’s longer than that… this is how battles are lost, while you set and try and figure things out the enemy reinforces, resupplies and re-regroups… you give them a breather and take the heat off you will get your ass kicked. Anyone need a lesson from the political management of the military war on Vietnam? There is a FMF manual out, I have one somewhere call “Lesson learned in Vietnam” it mainly deals with booby traps and early IED’s but it does cover mistakes made from running a war from Washington and not the battle field. This is exactly what Obama is doing… Washington hasn’t learned a thing about pass failures, which should be evident from the massive spending, massive entitlements, and higher taxes… it never works, it’s never worked and it not going to work now.

Obama is failing the troops and he is going to cost them more than their lives… honor is at stake.
