Are you better off now than a year ago?

It is a simple yes or no question… are you better off now than you were a year ago? I can tell you as a self-employed independent contractor, I’m not. The jobs have all but  dried up and people wanting work done have backed off in the face of this Obama depression. Yes I said it, it’s his he owns its it, he made it and he’s done nothing but deepen it with heavy handed government, out of control spending on growing the power and scope of government.

One year today Barack Hussein Obama was elected dare I say swept into the office of the presidency of the United States steeped in promises of a lexicon laced dialog of hope ‘n change, hope ‘n change but with no real solid ideas or proposals for the hope ‘n change, some saw that missing from the rhetoric – most did not… he was the ‘change’ canidate, the hope canidate and that was about he had. Oh he has a nice smile, a young family, flashy speeches and all the pop culture, pomp and circumstance of a royal coronation but that and a $1 will get you a cup of coffee.  Many of his supporters mindlessly and drone like chanted ‘yes we can, yes we can’ and today a increasing number of them now say ‘what did we do, what did we do?’

In Iowa, Second Thoughts on Obama

Pauline McAreavy voted for President Obama. From the moment she first saw him two years ago, she was smitten by his speeches and sold on his promise of change. She switched parties to support him in the Iowa caucuses, donated money and opened her home to a pair of young campaign workers.

But by the time she received a fund-raising letter last month from the Democratic National Committee, a sense of disappointment had set in. She returned the solicitation with a handwritten note, saying, “Until I see some progress and he lives up to his promises in Iowa, we will not give one penny.”

“I’m afraid I wasn’t realistic,” Ms. McAreavy, 76, a retired school nurse, said on a recent morning on the deck of her home here in east-central Iowa.

Yes the very lexicon of hope and change, yes we can and are you fired up gave way to the tired rhetoric of ‘historic’, ‘unprecedented’, ‘crisis’ and the ever argumentum ad nauseam phraseology of ‘the worst economic crisis since the great depression’. Obama is of the mindset that if you say something enough, people will believe it thus a year after the election Obama continues to blame Bush for the mess he is creating and while he has the majority in both houses of congress he continues to accuse the Republicans of hampering, stone-walling and obstructing his far left-wing agenda.

So how is that hope and change working out for you?

Well he changed things alright, unemployment has gone from 6.5% to 9.8%  under Obama, the Federal deficit has gone from 2008 of $407 billion under Bush to $1.58 trillion under Obama. He rode in on the promise he was going to fundamentally change America and he has…

Obama said…

It’s time to fundamentally change the way that we do business in Washington. To help build a new foundation for the 21st century, we need to reform our government so that it is more efficient, more transparent, and more creative. That will demand new thinking and a new sense of responsibility for every dollar that is spent.

Oh I’ve seen change in Washington, there has been less partisanship, less transparency, less efficient, but I’ll say it’s been more creative.. creative in the way Obama continues to blame the “previous administration” creative is the use of tax dollars to host White House parties, expensive meals, date night, shopping trips to Europe, use of the NEA for propaganda, corporate takeovers, personal failed bids for the Olympics and the appointment of some of the most radical people ever to high offices in this government. However that biggest change I’ve seen is one Obama wasn’t banking on… and that was a change in the American people, the rise of conservatism and loud and visible rejection of the direction of this country.

A year ago I would have never thought of seeing tea parties, emotionally charged town halls, political activism from average everyday Americans  and the angrywhiteguy.com blog whoever heard of that? Trust me I have other things I could be doing many of those things I’d rather be doing, but this is important so everyday I like millions of America now watch and pay attention and call foul when we see it, there is silence no more.  Obama has – as it has been said ‘awakened a sleeping giant’ and the heart of sleeping giant is in middle America, the over looked, the disregarded, the marginalized, the ones too stupid to know what they want and that just need to be drug to it regardless of what “it” is. We’ve been the ones that have been over-worked and over-taxed and we’ve been silent far to long as we just tried to make our way in life and be left alone, but Washington could leave us alone, they messed with housing, they messed with taxes, they messed with private industry and now they want to mess with your health and the American people said … ‘that’s it – that’s enough dammit – I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore.”

The angry white guy blog was founded on the fact…. I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore! Oh I was getting angry under Bush with TARP and big spending, but Obama kicked it into overdrive with his endless babbling, fawning media, running the monetary printing presses 24/7 and his teleprompter co-dependency propaganda, I and millions of other have had enough!

So a year later Obama continues to deal in ambiguities… he claim he’s created or SAVED (insert made up number here) jobs. This is what I call ‘shoppers logic’ which is to say ‘ I bought $1000 worth of clothes today, BUT I had a 20% off coupon so I saved $200.00!” … no you didn’t you spent $800.00! This is akin to Obama taking weeks to find and touting his $100 million cut in the executive branch budget as if it’s massive savings while spending billions every day…that’s chump change you can believe in.

Obama who can meet 22 times with the head of SEIU… Andy Stern, he can have 2-3 hour meetings with MSNBC (Olbermann and Maddow) and other left wing repeaters but the same guy that’s so busy can’t find more than 20 minutes to talk to his general on the ground in Afghanistan? Obama who can’t find time to make the hard choices on troop strength in Afghanistan can find time to have a Halloween party, Latin music party, and who know what other leisure and entertainment at the taxpayer expense.  America has had enough of the finger pointing and excuses it time to step up to the plate and make the real decisions.

I’ve had enough, millions of other have had enough an I think of a fantastic scene from the great, great movie “PATTON” (I’ve looked for the clip I can’t find it) so I’ll describe it… Patton is in North Africa talking to a British  officer about the lacking air coverage from German fighter planes… as the British Officer assures Patton that they have total air superiority over the Germans and the general will not see a German plane…suddenly a German planes come flying in spraying fire (gun shot) down on Patton’s headquarters and at first they all drive for cover, the Germans pass again and Patton get mad… the Germans pass again and Patton jumps up and says “By God, that’s it I’ve had enough!!” so he climes out the window jumps into the middle of the road and stands there with his ivory handled pistol and starts shooting at the German planes. Right now we’re all Patton… we’ve been shot at enough, we’ve been lied to enough and it’s time to take a stand.

And while one person standing in the middle of the road shooting at a plan flying over may have little effect… 100′s and 1000′s or millions standing in the road shooting at the over flying planes…. well that plane will go down and right now Obama and the far left agenda power hungry are the pilots… take a stand.

(BTW if you’ve never seen the movie Patton go get it today!)
