The Obama White House CLAIMS they created or saved 640,329 jobs for $150,000,000,000.00 ($150 Billion) and we’re suppose to not only believe it but be impressed. Now CBS reports that’s $160,000.00 per job… the White House says that’s calculator abuse, I agree as with the math I us I come up with $234,254.58 per job.

So I went to recovery.gov to see what jobs were create in my area and for how much… so since I live in the Jackson Purchase of Western Kentucky I thought I check to see where our money is going….

First the State which has a unemployment rate of 10.87%… the site reports that the state was given $2,211,010,138.00 and this saved or created 4172.78 jobs or $529,865.02 per job. Now I’m not real sure who you create or save .78 of a job, but I digress perhaps a circus midget was involved. Point is $529,865.02 is slightly over the Commonwealth’s median individual income of $18,093.00 by a little over a half a million dollars. Not sure about you but I’m not calling this effective stimulus… so let’s look at some counties…

Ballard Co. received $1,976,649.00 for total of ZERO jobs.
Carlisle Co. received $227,851.00 for a total of ZERO jobs.
Calloway Co.  received $3,924,161.00 to create or save 24 jobs or… $163,506.71 per job
Fulton Co received $2,843,276 to create 1 job or $2,843,276 per job.
Graves Co received $3,418,074.00 to create or save 2 jobs or %1,709,038.00 per job.
Hickman Co received $175,045.00 for a total of ZERO jobs.
Marshall Co. received $6,204,874 to create or save 1 job or $6,204,874 per job.
McCracken Co. received $86,865,975 to create of save 50.6 jobs or $1,716,718.87 per job (or .6 of a job)

So the Jackson Purchase received $105,635,804.00 to create or save 78.6 jobs… or $1,343,966.97 per job. This does not seem like a effective use of tax dollars to me just looking at the numbers… so what did they spend it on? Well let’s look at a few grants or what I call taxpayer handouts…

First there are millions and millions in the Jackson Purchase for what is called on the website S8 funds… this is Section 8 (HUD) housing… or better known as taxpayer funding housing… folk pay a tiny amount for rent and the taxpayer picks up the rest. I think they are trying to hide this with governmentese calling it “S8 FUNDS” it’s freaking WELFARE!! And how the hell does this create any jobs by paying peoples bills? All you’re stimulating is for these people to continue to set on their butts.

So of these are spread out over a few different reports all for the same thing going to the same place.. so the dollar amounts are totals.

Ezell’S COSMETOLOGY School received $51,206.00 grant… is there a makeup crisis I’m unaware of?
City of Mayfield Police received $26,885 to upgrade radios and computers. (I’ve seen the Mayfield Police they would have been better served buying gym equipment.)
MID CONTINENT UNIVERSITY received several grants $1,192,484.00 in stimulus grant money for “grants”…. clear as mun for you? How’s the transparency?
DAYMAR LEARNING OF PADUCAH received $231,250.00 in stimulus grant money for “grants.”
MURRAY STATE UNIVERSITY (The Berkley of the Purchase) received $3,282,475 in grant money for “grants”
LEWIS ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING received $90,217.00 to survey mussel populations in the lake.
Mayfield/Graves County Art Guild received $12,000.00 for “declines in philanthropic and other support during the current economic downturn.” (Note: I’ve member of multiple art guilds, but do to their “attitude” I opted not to remain a member now I’m all for supporting the arts, but I just don’t think it’s a good idea for government to do it.)

STOP!!! WTF!!!

Oh what the hell is this? I just found over $1.5 MILLION dollars in my area of STIMULUS MONEY to help the AMERICAN economy that went to a Canadian company to upgrade their diesel engines? WTF over?? I looked at the map and the last time I checked Concord, Ontario wasn’t in United States? Now you have to wonder how much more stimulus money is being sent to foreign companies.

So I see a call to my Congressman and Senator on Monday morning because I want to know which damn congressional district is Canada in?

Can you believe that… American tax dollars going to upgrade a Canadian companies diesel engines… what the hell diesel engine upgrades have to do with stimulus is beyond me, but to give it to a foreign company… IN-FREAKING-SANE! Here is the deal I was looking at Stimulus in Kentucky and found money for Canada listed as being in Tennessee while looking at a Kentucky page. How knows might be some stimulus for Kenya listed in Kansas.
