UPDATE: Is there really a boycott of Glenn Beck?

Boycott Leader “Color of Change” a Radical Group

Well the loons on the left and racist groups are putting the pressure on Glenn Beck’s show, so you put pressure on them with your money. Avoid their stores, products and let them know.

Why? Glenn Beck said Obama is a racist… well he is and he really showed it in the Gates issue, quick call for a boycott of my blog I called “The One” a racist.

Send this list to your friends and let them know to speak with their cash and let the companies know and remember if you shop at their stores or buy their products you are supporting the restriction of free speech.

Now I enjoy Beck I think he’s a bit nutty at times, but to boycott him for exercising free speech is just wrong. If they have a problem with free speech then I have a problem with them, so the following companies well no longer get my business and I think there are more of us than there is of them.

These morons are saying that calling someone a racist is racist… please find me some duct tape. Political correctness gone mad.

Twenty companies have pulled their ads from Beck’s show in just the last two weeks. The moves come after the Fox News host called President Obama a “racist” who “has a deep-seated hatred for white people” during an appearance on Fox & Friends. Previous companies who pulled their ads include ConAgra, GEICO, Lawyers.com, Men’s Wearhouse, Procter & Gamble, Progressive Insurance, RadioShack, Roche, SC Johnson, Sanofi-Aventis, Sargento, and State Farm Insurance.

“We are heartened to see so many corporate citizens step up in support of our campaign against Glenn Beck,” said James Rucker, executive director of ColorOfChange.org. “Their action sends a clear a message to Glenn Beck: Broadcasters shouldn’t abuse the privilege they enjoy by spewing dangerous and racially charged hate language over the air. No matter their political affiliation, hate language doesn’t belong in our national dialogue.”

“Walmart [sic] today confirmed the retailer pulled ads from the Glenn Beck show on August 3rd,” said David Tovar, a spokesperson for Wal-Mart, in an email to ColorOfChange.org.

“While advertising on Fox is part of our communication plan, we had not requested time on Glenn Beck’s show specifically,” said Carolyn Castel, Vice President of Corporate Communications for CVS Caremark, in an email to ColorOfChange.org. “We have instructed our advertising agency to inform Fox to ensure Glenn Beck’s program is not part of our advertising plan.”

Color of Change is one of those race-baiting groups that’s behind a lot of this pressure, think of them as the web based Al Sharpton/Jessie Jackson. (remember the Jena 6)  This group Color of Change, founded by Van Jones an Obama czar may be behind the boycott.Van Jones a self proclaimed communist who was appointed Green Jobs Czar in March is the founder of Color of Change. The group has applied pressure to Glenn Beck’s sponsors; it seems to have worked for the time being.

“It’s preposterous and absurd,” Rucker says of Beck’s opinion. “It’s insulting to black Americans; and it corrupts honest debate. Anyone who uses such a platform to spew such vitriol, whether Glenn Beck or anyone else, has no place on the air, and we at Color Of Change would use every resource available to us to remove corporate sponsorship from their platform.”

No what preposterous and absurd is a thinking what Beck said was racist, moron.

[name of company]

It has come to my attention that you have opted to pull you advertising from the Glenn Beck program on FoxNews do to pressure from left-wing hate groups. I applaud Mr. Beck for exercising his constitution right of free speech and while I may not agree with his ever word, he has the right in America to say it. However, it would seem your company has a problem with freedom of expression and therefore I’ll exercise my freedom to shop elsewhere. If your company is so easily pressured by known hate groups such as Color of Change, then you are a company I will not do business with.

[name]

Yes I could write a better letter, but it’s late and I’m tired.

I sent an email to Sargento and this is part of what they had to say:

“We advertise on Fox News, however, we felt Glenn Beck went too far when he suggested poisoning someone with whom he disagrees. Rhetoric that reflects action that would result in the death
of someone is never acceptable to us. Therefore, we have advised our
advertising agency that they should reallocate our Fox News buy among other Fox News programs.”

OK, I missed it. Who did GB want to poison? It’s nice though to have a different reason other than that he made a racist remark. Give them points for originality!

    • I would ask then to clarify as I have no idea what they are talking about… Beck said Obama is a “racist” who “has a deep-seated hatred for white people”

I have no problem with this statement as it is true by all accounts, at no point am I aware of Beck saying anything about poisoning anyone.

Here is what he said, he was goofing and said “by the way I put poison in your… no” so Sargento is really reaching with that one and I seriously doubt they even saw the bit in person. So here it is ….
