More Health Care FYI Stuff

Small update here:
WaTimes EXCLUSIVE: Panel sees race bias in health care bill

Here is another great break down of what’s in the bill…
(I highly recommend you read it.)

The Health Care Bill: What HR 3200, ‘‘America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009,” Says

And here are some things to think about…

Page 280 Sec 1151 The Government will penalize hospitals for what Government deems preventable readmission.

Pg 298 Lines 9-14 Doctors who treat a patient during initial admission that results in a readmission – Government will penalize you.

I covered this in “The ObamaCare Bill” what this means is if you go to the Dr. and you have say an infection, and you are treated IF that infection returns and you call the Dr. you may not get an appointment or seen since the “Provider” will suffer a penalty if you return, you may simply be turned away. Call it rationing by financial intimidation.

This bill repeatably says “QUALIFIED PLAN” … what that?

1. The bill defines “acceptable coverage” and leaves no room for choice in this regard.

2. By setting a minimum 70% actuarial value of benefits, the bill makes health plans in which individuals pay for routine services, but carry insurance only for catastrophic events, (such as Health Savings Accounts) illegal.

So if you want to just have cheaper catastrophic health care coverage and save money, you can’t but it doesn’t really matter because you are going to forces on the government rolls.

I’ve got other stuff I’m working out so read that first link… they can try and take your freedom, but they can’t take your knowledge.

If catastrophic healthcare coverage is going to be illegal then maybe the Department of the Navy needs to rethink the “tri-care” coverage that they have offered me.
When I retired I was told that I would get family medical coverage for $38 a month. What they didn’t mention was that because of the location I was moving I would have to drive 230 miles to the nearest “tricare” facility, I found that out after the fact. Yeah right, that’s going to work. So I got a J-O-B and pay $60 a week through the company where I work for about the same coverage I was expecting from them. It pissed me off to say the least but in retrospect I think it’s fair, I’m getting what I pay for, I just wish they had been straight forward about it.
I am enrolled in catastrophic coverage through “tricare” ( I’ll have to pay some ungodly amount of money out of pocket before it kicks in and then it only covers 50%) but I don’t pay for it so I guess it really doesn’t matter; however, if this type of coverage is made “illegal” then what is the Department of the Navy going to do about it? Enquiring minds want to know.

I would only go to the VA if I didn’t like my health. The VA in a joke, I have a clinic here in my town and it was going to take longer to get an appointment then it was to go to a private provide and pay out of pocket. The closest VA medical hospital is Marion IL and they are barred from do surgery do to the number of people the’ve killed.

      http://www.aboutlawsuits.com/va-hospital-malpractice-lawsuit-settled-4905/

The VA began investigating problems at the Illinois medical center in 2007, after a rash of surgery deaths occurred between October 2006 and March 2007. More than 30 cases at the facility were reviewed by the VA and at least nine deaths were linked to substandard care. Management at the hospital has been referred to as “dysfunctional and inefficient.”

And there are idiots that think ObamaCare will be better.
