Timothy Geithner does Steve Martin

Timothy Geithner has got to be a fan of Steve Martin, Geithner sets before Senate Finance Committee trying to convince them that his failure to pay taxes for 4 years is a simple mistake that he was careless in failing to pay $34,000 in Social Security and Medicare taxes.

Now let me ask you, if you “forgot” to pay your taxes would Senators, Representatives and even a newly elected President come to your defense? Why no, no they wouldn’t, you’d be under the jail, under the bus and under investigation. Your assets seized and hopefully at some point before your untimely death you’d see the light of day. This is a further example of us and them and that we no long have a government by the people for the people, that we have a government for the few by the few and those few are corrupt, dirty, sneaky, lying cheats.

So where does the Steve Martin/Timothy Geithner connection come from? Well a long time ago in 1978 Steve Martin said on the “Comedies is not Pretty” album …

You.. can be a millionaire.. and never pay taxes! You can be a millionaire.. and never pay taxes! You say.. “Steve.. how can I …. be a millionaire.. and never pay taxes?” First.. get a million dollars. Now.. you say, “Steve.. what do I say to the tax man when he comes to my door and says, ‘You.. have never paid taxes’?” Two simple words. Two simple words in the English language: “I forgot!” How many times do we let ourselves get into terrible situations because we don’t say “I forgot”? Let’s say you’re on trial for armed robbery. You say to the judge, “I forgot armed robbery was illegal.” Let’s suppose he says back to you, “You have committed a foul crime. you have stolen hundreds and thousands of dollars from people at random, and you say, ‘I forgot’?” Two simple words: Excuuuuuse me!!

So excuse Geithner, he forgot that not paying taxes was illegal he like many that occupy the halls, houses and offices of Washington D.C. are nothing more than a joke.

Out of sick curiosity how would this act read if read by Geithner? I wonder …

You.. can be a Treasury Secretary … and never pay taxes! You can be a Treasury Secretary … and never pay taxes! You say.. “Dave … how can I …. be a Treasury Secretary … and never pay taxes?” First.. get a nomination. Now.. you say, “Dave … what do I say to the tax man when he comes to my door and says, ‘You.. have never paid taxes’?” Two simple words. Two simple words in the English language: “I forgot!” How many times do we let ourselves get into terrible situations because we don’t say “I forgot”? Let’s say you’re on trial for lying under oath. You say to the judge, “I forgot perjury was illegal.” Let’s suppose he says back to you, “You have committed a foul crime. you have lied to the congress, you have lied to the American people and you disgraced the office of the Presidency, and you say, ‘I forgot’?” Two simple words: Excuuuuuse me!!
