Michael Jackson: Rev. Sharpton wants a commemorative stamp
I was saving this bitch for October 23, but I am going to go ahead and post it now… I am a former U.S Marine, I served multiple tours in Lebanon and on October 23, 1983 a TERRORIST ATTACK kill 241 people in the Marine Barrack at the International Airport in Beirut, Lebanon (220 Marines, 18 Navy personnel and 3 Army soldiers, along with 60 injured)… we’ve never had a United States stamp issued to honor those that were murdered by Islamic TERRORIST in Lebanon.
We’ve had Star Wars stamps, Wizard of Oz stamps we had stamps for boats, cars, plans, teddy bears, Super Heroes a stamp for the made up holiday Kwanzaa and we’ve even have a stamp every stinking year for freaking Islamic EID holiday, but no stamp for the members of the military murdered in mass in Beirut, Lebanon by Islamic Terrorist. Nope no stamp, nothing it’s nothing more than a footnote in history.
However the Committee cites their reason as such…
“The Committee cited its longstanding general policy of not honoring the victims of tragic situations, including natural disasters, acts of violence, and catastrophes.”
OK fine, I give you that as there is no Pearl Harbor stamp either (but there should be)… then make one for the men that serviced there. (I am unaware of any women in the theater.) Just a little respect is that asking to much?
You can learn more about the effort to get a stamp for those fallen veterans here…

So my thoughts on a Michael Jackson stamp… not just “NO” but “Hell NO”.
Besides only U.S. Presidents can have stamps issued after their death with out the mandatory 5 year wait that is sat forth in guidelines.
More on those rules here…
Citizens Stamp Advisory Committee
3. Commemorative stamps or postal stationery items honoring individuals usually will be issued on, or in conjunction with significant anniversaries of their birth, but no postal item will be issued sooner than five years after the individual’s death. The Committee will not accept or consider proposals for a subject until at least three years after his/her death. The only exception to the five-year rule is the issuance of stamps honoring deceased U.S. presidents. They may be honored with a memorial stamp on the first birth anniversary following death.
So NO… NO, NO, NO!!
However I’d ask you to contact the Committee to ask them to honor these veterans.
