at a 26 year high of 9.5% the work week for many has been cut to just 33 hours a week in a effort by some employers to keep workers working while trimming the bottom line.
As employers cut payrolls, average workweek and average wage decline
The official jobless rate inched up to 9.5 percent from 9.4 percent previously estimated for May. The loss of 467,000 nonfarm payroll jobs compared with 345,000 in May.
Although 9 in 10 members of the American work force are employed, the average workweek fell in June to 33 hours, the lowest level on record since the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics began tracking it in 1964. For the last seven years, the weekly average fluctuated from 33.6 to 33.9 hours.

Do I really have to explain this to you? I hope not… Obama is destroying the economy, he is destroying the country and I believe that is what he wants to do, I am of the opinion that he as no vested interest in the greatness of America he has all but said it with his “world citizen” statement… got news for Barack you are not a world citizen, you are suppose to be an American and I’m not that sure you are. I swear the man-child hasn’t a clue what makes the economy work and if he does he is doing all he can to “bring America down to size”. I wonder what wealth is he going to redistribute when there are no so-called rich left to rape? Well we all be working in sweat shops for a pennies a day? Well we all be begging Africa for food? Well we be a “world citizen” of beggars?
This high Unemployment is OBAMA’S
The shorter work week is OBAMA’S
The economy is OBAMA’S
He owns it and it’s not Bush’s fault.
If this country survives this clown and he is a clown it will be a miracle.
