A brief change from my normal political rants.
So does it really matter what we do? Think about it, Micheal Jackson had a 24/7 physician and cardiologist. He slept in a Oxygen tent and wore a mask everywhere and die at 50, Billy Mays seemingly in perfect health for a man of 50 years with a bit of a spare tire dies in his sleep (I’m guessing deep vein thrombosis), Farrah Fawcett was for years the picture of health dies at 62 of anal cancer and then we come to Ed McMahon, Ed was widely known for his heavy drinking and smoking, he was no health nut and life a full and mostly healthy life to age 86.
If we look back over the years, George Burns smoked several cigars a day and lived to be a 100. Jim Fixx on the other hand was a fitness and jogging guru and dropped dead at the age of 52 of a massive heart attack. Frank Sinatra drank and smoked for most of his 82 years and then there was the non drinking, no smoking John Ritter the drop dead at 54.
The list goes on and on of those that lived hard and lived a long happy (most of the time happy) lifes and then their were those that seemed to live right, eat right and seemed to be healthy and happy theyseemed to have nothing wrong and everything going for them and died at a young age.
So while I’m not the most religious man in the world, does it really matter what you do? Is your number known at birth and there is nothing you can do to change it? Is your time on this big blue marble predetermined? Is your ticker been allotted so many tocks before it’s finished? Just one of those things that I think about from time to time. So lite up, drink up and live longer your expiration date may already be set and there isn’t a damn thing you can do to change it.
Doubt me I have two words for you…. Keith Richards.
Remember… live right, eat right, die anyway.
