Recently I sent an email out to a few of my friends about a blog post I found clever and funny, it was in the wake of Miss California’s remarks of of stand for traditional marriage and then the leaked photo’s of her topless, which by the way didn’t show anything, so anyway I sent this link in my e-mail to a few friends…
Breaking: Gay Marriage Opponent Topless Photos Leaked
Nearly all of them found it funny, however one did not find it humorous in the least and in fact was seemingly upset about it… now they are a big Obama supporter and I knew this going in and up unto this point I had never sent them any joke e-mails about “The One” before. I figured I’d wait awhile and give them time for their Obama euphoria to wane a bit when the discovered their mortgage wouldn’t be paid and the gas tank filled, but it would seem they’re still under the O-spell of “The One”. Now for the record and what ever it’s worth they’re Black and I am not which in my opinion should have nothing to do with it. A little history they have sent me several anti-Bush, anti-McCain, anti-Palin, anti-conservative e-mails over the years and I have never said a angered word about it other than quick rebuttal if the accuracy was in question and I let it go. I have never got mad, miffed or upset about it nor did I ever send them a nasty gram not to send anything like that in the future it’s just an opinion and if I don’t like I can delete it. Interesting their spouse had even given me a book on Hitler in the past making comments that is was something I’d enjoy as it was up my ally. (Hitler was a socialist and I’m not… so they should have kept it for themselves.) They’ve also made other comments to that effect in the past and I just let it slide, I don’t wear my heart on my sleeve. I took it as the joke it was supposedly intended to be and never gave it much of a second thought. I believe we have/had been good friends with for many years and never gave any thought to “these are my BLACK friends” I never thought about it, they were just folk I knew and was friends with… They were somewhat poorer folks (or is that economically challenged?) that were on welfare and food stamps (or is that entitlements and subsidies), BUT they were working hard to get off of them and using the system as it was designed to be used, as a stepping stone and not a way of life, I admired that and in spite of several set backs, including a return to the pokey for one of them, they kept moving forward raising their kids right and working on putting them in college. We (my family) had helped them out few times for I’m more than willing to help those that are helping themselves, because that’s the kind of evil conservative I am.
Anyway back to the original point, after I sent them the e-mail I got a somewhat snippy reply. It read…
Like it or not he is your president. Bush is gone and McCain lost. Obama is our President and don’t send nothin else that is disrespectful to our Nations President. It is not funny.
Now on the surface that isn’t much, but know these folks it is. So I replied…
Oh disrespectful is that like the respect the Obama’s and the libs shows our country, Bush and our military?
Yep ya’ll can dish it out but not take it. Typical libs.
Well, I haven’t heard back from them and I doubt I will here from them again as I said it wasn’t what was said but what wasn’t. I figure it’s more their loss than mine, I only regret I didn’t save the e-mail they had sent me that cracked on the prior administration or other conservatives, so I could send them back to point out their hypocrisy, but liberal hypocrisy is nothing new and it is well… typical. But as all liberals they can dish it out but not take it, I think the liberal response to the TEA Parties is proof of that. I have no idea if they will ever speak to me again as I’ve never had them react this way before, but it they happen to stumble across this post, which I doubt… I just want them to know. I don’t care! Get over it and stop being a baby. Obama sucks as a president and he is destroying this country, get a clue.
Good Lord there are states declaring their sovereignty from the Federal Government, their are Tea Parties by the hundreds springing up all over the country, unemployment and the debt is at the record high, auto companies are going belly up as are the banks and the housing market… oh yeah he’s doing a great job. So much for the great Uniter, this country has not been as divided as it is now since the Civil War and it’s really beginning to appear there is another on the horizon, perhaps not a fighting war but clearing there is a political, idealogical and cultural civil war looming and I’m not that sure the first rounds have not already been fired.

You are so spot-on: they can dish it out, but… A week or so ago I sent a humorous piece about a "post turtle" (google it) to a number of friends and relatives. I knew that some of them are big Obama supporters. But I didn't expect the reply I received from one of them. The reply said, "Don't send me any more of this crap." I've chuckled about that response for five days.
