Obama promised black farmers a settlement.

First of all I’ve never even heard of the “National Black Farmers Association” but it seems as a Senator, Obama promises them a new settlement for so discrimination from the Department of Agriculture and now that he is President he is forgetting them and they are not happy as they were like so many on the left bought the snake oil of “hope and change” and now are getting reality and facts.

My question is why is this group that is claiming discrimination not a racist discriminatory group itself? Do they allow white farmers to join? I’m just sick of these Black this and Black that and then they call whites racist, grow the %$*@ up would you! But I digress.

Anyway yet more failed farmers making a money grab, here is some excepts from their website.

1. Class for Pigford Claims Remedy Act of 2006, H.R. 5575
An African American person who farmed or attempted to farm between January 1, 1981 and December 31, 1996, applied to USDA during that period for participation in a federal farm credit or farm program and who believed that they were discriminated against on the basis of race in USDA’s response to that application; and filed a discrimination complaint on or before July 1, 1997, regarding USDA’s treatment of such farm credit or benefit application and who previously filed a discrimination complaint that was determined to be late in Pigford v. Glickman.

2. Farm Subsidy Class
An African American person who farmed or attempted to farm between 1994 and present who applied to participate in a federal farm subsidy program and who believed that they were discriminated against based on race by being denied participation or equal benefits of that farm program.

3. New Class
An African American person who farmed or attempted to farm after December 31, 1996 and was discriminated against on the basis of race by USDA when USDA denied the African American farmer participation in a federal farm credit program or denied equal participation in a federal farm credit or farm program in retaliation based on race for participation in the Pigford v. Johannes class action or filed a complaint of discrimination since 1999 and USDA dismissed the accepted complaint without investigation or failed to process the case.

Ok here is my question…

How can you be discriminated against if you ATTEMPTED to farm? If you fail you fail, that not discrimination that’s life.
How what is considered a farm or a small farm? Well according to the USDA you have to have a minimum of $1000.00 net ag income with no restriction on land acrage.

Here is their Mission Statement…

To encourage the participation of small and disadvantaged farmers in gaining access to resources of state and federal programs administered by the United States Department of Agriculture. To communicate and educate our community through effective outreach and technical assistance.

So a $1000.00 bucks of income to to try to cash in on and I quote….

The position — spelled out in a legal motion filed in February and reiterated in recent settlement talks — would leave payments as low as $2,000 or $3,000 per farmer. Boyd called that “insulting.”

Boyd noted that Obama’s legislation specifically called for the new claimants to be eligible for the same awards as the initial lawsuit, including expedited payments of $50,000 plus $12,500 in tax breaks that the vast majority of the earlier farmers received.

So if I was black, which I’m not I could grow a garden in my backyard which I do and sell it at the local Farmer’s Market and if I made a $1000.00 which wouldn’t be hard to do, I could get in line for $50,000.00 and $12,500.00 in tax breaks if this litigation is won. Ridiculous!

Stop it with the racism charges would you, but I’m probably a racist for writing this.
