So the Democrats and running around saying we are going to default if we don’t raise the debt limit and the world as we know it will end… in nutshell this is a lie.
Here is the deal… think of it like this, you make $2000 a month and you spend $3000 a month you’ve been spending the extra $1000 on credit cards… now you’ve maxed out your credit cards and the card company says we’re not going to raise your limit anymore – you just need to cut back.
Your actual debt payments every month are only $200 and you have other bills like rent/mortgage, food, electric etc… but you also have a lot of stuff you can cut like cable, internet, going out, movies, fast food, toys, etc… fact is you can live on $2000 a month and pay your debt you just haven’t been but you are addicted to the campaign life on a beer budget.
This is pretty much what the democrats have been doing for a long time now – they’ve been living beyond our means on our money and now the credit card company (i.e the tax payer) is saying stop the spending – but the 30 year old brat still living at home in the basement sucking on momma’s tit (i.e. those on the dole) don’t cut spending, tax/borrow and spend more.
Why should these parasites care they aren’t paying the bill, they have no skin in the game.
This is not rocket science – when you live beyond your means at some point you have to have a come to Jesus moment and admit you’ve got a problem, you’ve got debt and it has to be paid or you’re bankrupt – the Democrats want to ignore this problem and like a two-bit junkie blame the Republicans for the messy problem they’ve got the county into – it like a drunk blaming their drinking problem on someone elses actions – that bird don’t fly, that dog don’t hunt.
So Obama and the democrats are saying we need more credit (i.e. raise the debt limit) – we need to up the card limit, because they don’t want to make the hard choices of what needs to be cut – they’ll play the class warfare card or the emotional card and say we’ll have to cut teachers, firefighters, police etc. They’ll send a endless parade of sad sacks out there of people they’ll claim to a victim of the evil Republicans refusing the go further in debt. Well in reality we can make cuts like the Department of Education and give it back to the States as it was before Carter (see Atlanta as to why), we can cut the EPA, the DOE, The IRS, we can cut the size of government by 50%, we can cut the number of people on the dole… and if we cut taxes we can create jobs and get more people working and paying taxes besides sucking on the taxpayers tit.
(Side note: Nothing pisses me off more than hearing Obama talk about being fiscally responsible and dealing with the debt when this asshole ran up more debt than every prior President combined! Including his FAILED stimulus democrat slush fund!)
Anyway- it is all very simple – live within your means and make the adult choices – and the Democrats just flat out aren’t bright enough nor mature enough to understand this!
We don’t have a problem with people not being taxed enough – we have a problem with not enough people being taxed. The bottom 50% pays nearly nothing in taxes, why should they care what the tax rate is or how it’s spent as long as they are getting a slice of the pie.
Here is the bottom line – the government takes in about $200 billion a month, service on the debt is $20 billion a month, they are going to have to learn to live on $180 billion a month and not the $300 billion a month that Obama want’s to spend and put in his budget (that the democrats never passed BTW). And if by chance we take in more than $200 billion a month they need to pay down the national debt… it is going to require the sacrifice of some sacred cows but it’s got to be done, but we are not going to default on our debt we couldn’t if we wanted to unless we completely stopped collecting all taxes and fees.
