Time Travel: If it was possible – then we’ve already done it?

While this is not politics per se it does go into some basic common sense and you’ll see that the bulk of people that buy into and believe fanciful things like time travel are a little more liberal leaning than conservative. So liberals are more likely to buy into the idea of time travel, teleportation and the like as something that will be real as opposed to something that will never be, but that’s an observation for another day…

Just on the idea of time travel alone, a recent story put forth this observation…

Time Traveler’ May Just Be Hard of Hearing

Speculation about a supposed time traveller talking on her cell phone at a 1928 Hollywood film premiere has sped across the Internet faster than a DeLorean time machine. But a less mind-bending possibility is that she was just hard of hearing, experts say.

The story first surfaced in a YouTube video that includes film footage showing the 1928 premiere of the Charlie Chaplin film “The Circus” at Manns Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, Cali. Irish filmmaker George Clarke points out a woman in the old footage holding what he describes as a cell phone against her ear. The shape implies the woman is a time traveler using a modern mobile device rather than an ear trumpet, Clarke said.

Now while I of all people think time travel travel would be super cool and would give my left nut to be able to it there are a few minor problems with the theory and it is just that – a theory…

(duct tape your head warning)

If time travel was possible it would assume time is not linear but spherical or spiral in some way and bends back on or circles itself – therefore if time travel was indeed a reality and not a theory one would have to ask … where are the people from the future? As the future is the present somewhere in time so where are they? Where is it written from the past or the present about people from the future? Where is the proof? After all if one could travel through time then we would have already met people from the future and additionally those people in all likelihood would have at some point violated the fundamental laws of time travel that would be not to give people in the present information from the future as it could disrupt the time line in the past thus changing the future which could screw things up for them. Do you really believe that people would be so ethical in the future as to not come back in time and kill Hitler or Mao or warn us about Obama? Do you think that they would obey the prime directive to the letter as to not warn someone of impending doom like 9/11, the tsunami in Indonesia, how to cure the Black Plague or events of Pompey? Do you not think someone would have gone back in time to verify history thus changing history in the process? What would have happened to history if someone went back in time and gave Leonardo just a couple of hints on flight? Or maybe told the Babylonians you are on to something with that battery? What would the world be like today if someone dropped a modern world map in ancient Rome or Greece? Like I said someone would have violated the prime directive at some point. Hell, not even Star Trek could go a season with violating the prime directive in the name of the greater good.

Cell Phone or Hearing Horn - I'm going with Hearing Horn.

Now I’m not even going to waste any time on the cell phone in 1928 thing as it’s hard enough to get a signal nowadays better yet getting one across decades of time as I’m pretty damn sure there weren’t any cell towers in 1928 nor could a signal travel through time. (But AWG maybe in the future the technology will exist to do that?) I’ll cover that in a second, but to think a cell phone would actually work in 1928 is just ridiculous… just try living where I live and try to get one to work in 2010! Besides if someone could travel through time don’t you think that they would have come up with the technology for a better communication device than a damn cell phone? Just saying…

So anyway… let’s assume time is not linear and it’s spherical. You then get into the chicken and the egg of who or what was first – the time traveler or the ability to time travel? See think of time as a marathon – if a 50 mile marathon is ran from point ‘A’ to point ‘B’ you always know who is on the lead, but if that same marathon is ran on a 440 yard circular track like you find at any school then is doesn’t take long before those in the lead lap those in the rear and it’s difficult to know who is in really front – the positions in time become muddied. Thus giving rise to some spherical but parallel time line – that is assuming they don’t overlap onto themselves but look more like a spiral and you can move back and forth between them. Kind of like an vinyl record – every grove has different sounds but it’s the same record that you can skip laterally on.

However this has it’s problems too – if you could only move laterally between spherical but parallel time lines you could not go to a pinpoint place in time but only to a place in time next to you on the spiral in a lateral move… kind of like moving between a snaking line at a airport counter. You can jump the rope but only laterally – you can’t go from the back of the line to the front in one jump unless you are in the right place at the right time.

Get it?

So why I think time travel would be incredibly cool it’s just not possible because if it was we would have done it. Maybe not now but in the future which is already here in their time somewhere along the time line, but which part of the time line is in the front? Because based on the theory the future is the present and the past somewhere in time. So you have to ask is it somewhere in time the human race evolving or coming to an end every second of every day? And what would happen if you could go back in time and meet yourself? (Don’t tell me you wouldn’t want to go back in time and give yourself some well needed advice!) What if you told yourself – unknowingly – something that caused you to die between the present and future – would you still be able to come back in time and tell yourself if you said something that caused you to cease to exist or would you both just disappear? And how would that effect every single person you influenced in life positively or negatively? What would this do to the chain reaction of events? What if you traveled back and time and couldn’t get back and you reproduced – how would this effect the time line by creating offspring that wasn’t suppose to be there in that time?

Just some of the 1000′s of questions and problems… and I didn’t even get into Plate Flutter Model and E=MC2 and if you could travel at beyond the speed of light you could actually travel back in time provided that going from zero to 186,282 miles per second did rip you into a trillion bits of goo down to the atomic level because there is this nasty thing called the laws of physics that just a pretty big hill to clime and until someone finds a route over that hill all you have is theoretical physics and if time travel was possible someone would have found away in the future which is the present on another grove of the record which would mean theoretical physics wouldn’t be theoretical anymore now would it?

See the idea is this if you could keep eye contact with a clock and that clock was straight up noon and you could travel away from that clock at the speed of light the time would remain straight up noon because in reality you really don’t see anything you only see it’s reflection thus traveling at the speed of light would allow you to travel at the speed of the reflection and therefore the time never changes – understand? In THEORY if you could travel faster than the speed of light you could travel faster than the reflection and therefore travel back in time past 11:59, 11:58 and the greater the velocity the further and faster back in time you’d go and if you did this while off the planet you’d return to earth at a different time and we’d all be ruled by Apes (oh wait we are now) – So never mind.

But then there is greed – tell me that if you travel back in time you wouldn’t buy something or leave yourself a note for the future to invest in this or that that would change your life in your present? Think about what your life would be like if you could travel back in time right now to 1989 and you left yourself note and it said “Buy every tech stock you can in the early 1990′s and sell them all before 1999 and you will be rich beyond rich.” What if you went back and bought them and then went back and sold them a decade later – why you’d be the richest person in the world but then you have to ask that if you were the richest person in the world would you risk traveling back in time to give yourself the note or buy those stocks yourself in the first place and if you didn’t would you have gotten rich?

Remember in the new Star Trek … Spock gave the young Scotty his formula for teleportion during warp but how could Spock of known the formula to give to Scotty if Scotty in fact had not yet figured it out then there was really no way Spock could have known it – unless Spock was from a parallel universe and not the same one as Scotty. See you can not give somebody something they made if they have not yet made it as it does not yet exist.

Confused yet? Well there is no way I can cover every angle and argument for and against, safe to say there are a lot of problems with the time travel as a practical application as cool as it maybe it’s not really reality as there are some laws you just can’t break no matter how much you want to.

Movie of the Week #41 – The Evil Dead

Filed under: Movie of the Week — Tags: — AWG @ 6:13 pm

The Evil Dead

Well Happy Halloween and it’s yet again time for the Movie of the Week – and as you can see I passed on the cliche of making “Halloween” the movie of choice since I’ve never been a big fan of the franchise – now the Evil Dead trilogy is another matter entirely – The Evil Dead is great! It’s cult classic!

Five friends go up to a cabin in the woods where they find unspeakable evil lurking in the forest. They find the Necronomicon and the taped translation of the text. Once the tape is played, the evil is released. One by one, the teens become deadly zombies. With only one remaining, it is up to him to survive the night and battle the evil dead.

So while you are out enjoying the Halloween weekend with ghouls and goblins check out the Evil Dead franchise … The Evil Dead, The Evil Dead II and The Army of Darkness! Great campy classics with Ash.

So Obama and his entourage is going to India…

Obama’s trip to be biggest ever

US President Barack Obama‘s trip to India next month is set to be the biggest ever by any US president in terms of the protocol and logistics.

Well every pimp has to have his posse…

The presidential entourage will have 40 aircraft, including the Air Force One that will ferry the president. There will be six armoured cars, including the Barack Mobile, a Cadillac.

The Cadillac limousine is equipped with a mini communication centre to enable Obama to be in touch with the White House, US vice president and the US strategic command. It also has the US nuke launch codes and the nuclear switch for the president. It can also withstand a chemical or germ warfare or even a bomb attack.

The secret service will set up two command posts in Delhi and Mumbai which will act as the communication nerve centres. These centres will keep an eye on each movement by the president with real time satellite monitoring.

Three Marine One choppers will be reassembled in India to ferry Obama and his family. These helicopters will also assist in evacuation in case of an emergency.

Moreover, 30 sniffer dogs will be put on service to boost the security arrangements during Obama’s visit.

Forty freaking aircraft? 40! You’ve got to be kidding me!

Six armored cars, including the Barack Mobile, a Cadillac! (Actually I believe it’s a Lincoln.)

Three Marine One helicopters disassembled and reassembled?

The Presidential motorcade?

Thirty sniffer dogs?

Navy ships off the coast?

Then add Michelle with her lard ass and her over-sized ego and entourage.

I bet even the TOTUS has a aircraft and security of it’s own.

In addition to all the stuff Dopey is taking there are 800-1000 people going and they are occupying as many hotel rooms.

Barack and Michelle’s Mumbai darshan plans

To ensure fool-proof security, the President’s team has booked the entire the Taj Mahal Hotel, including 570 rooms, all banquets and restaurants. Since his security contingent and staff will comprise a huge number, 125 rooms at Taj President have also been booked, apart from 80 to 90 rooms each in Grand Hyatt and The Oberoi hotels. The NCPA, where the President is expected to meet representatives from the business community, has also been entirely booked.

The officer said, “Obama’s contingent is huge. There are two jumbo jets coming along with Air Force One, which will be flanked by security jets. There will be 30 to 40 secret service agents, who will arrive before him. The President’s convoy has 45 cars, including the Lincoln Continental in which the President travels.”

That is a total of 875 rooms – good Lord how much of this costing us?

Have these elitist asshole ever heard of Go to Meeting?

The Obama/Stewart Follies

So did you watch Dopey Obama on The Daily Show? … No, I didn’t either – I’ll admit I watch the Daily Show from time to time. No way I could watch Obama, but Jon Stewart (aka Jonathon Leibowitz) can be pretty funny at times and equality he can be pretty annoying too. You add Obama to the mix and it is likely to become a liberal love fest and I just can’t watch that kind of man on man love… not to mention the sound of Obama’s voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me. His incoherent rhetoric of monotone droning from the wisdom of the teleprompter is just more than I willing to tolerate at any given time. I’ve never enjoyed listening to Obama as he is a classic point fingers liberals with no personal accountability kind of person that I have no time for – so I’m sure without even hearing it Obama regurgitated the garbage he does ever time he opens his pie hole it was a typical ‘Bush’s fault, I haven’t had time, the Republicans are obstructionist, the American people are stupid and don’t understand and we haven’t made things clear to this great unwashed morons of America’.

However, I read a few articles which keeps we from hearing his elitist-I’m-smarter-than-thou voice.

On the Daily Show, Obama is the last laugh

“You’re coming from a place, you ran on a very high rhetoric: ‘hope’ and ‘change.’ And the Democrats this year seem to be running on ‘Please, baby, one more chance.’” Stewart observed. “Are you disappointed in how it’s gone?”

Obama replied that he was advised after the election that “two years from now, folks are going to be frustrated” — a prediction he did not make public to his starry-eyed suporters at the time.

“We have done things that some folks don’t even know about,” Obama ventured.

Well the things we know about we don’t like I can only imagine how we’d feel about the things we don’t know about.

Should Jon Stewart Have Called the President ‘Dude?’

Barack Obama’s appearance on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” last night marked the first time a sitting president has been a guest on the Comedy Central program. It likely marked another first: the first time a president was called “dude” in a TV interview.

Obama said that administration official Larry Summers did a “heckuva job” on financial reform–and the President suggested his words were deliberately chosen to echo the language George W. Bush used to praise FEMA official Michael Brown during Hurricane Katrina. Stewart jokingly told the president, “You don’t want to use that phrase, dude.”

“Dude” is nicer than what I’d call him.

Jon Stewart, President Obama debate on ‘The Daily Show’

Obama is the first sitting president of the United States to appear on the comic news program, which in the past year has hosted former chief executives Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter. (“The Daily Show” has also courted George W. Bush, but that invitation has not borne fruit.) There were about 550 people in attendance — many were Congressional staffers, and most waited for several hours on F Street NW before passing through tight security.

‘Many were Congressional staffers?’ Really you have a stack the deck at a highly liberal show? That’s sad.

Barack Obama’s dumb ‘Daily Show’ Jon Stewart appearance and the President’s diminishing brand

Obama’s handlers were supposed to be smarter than this. They were supposed to use his celebrity strategically to advance his agenda. Instead, they’ve been indiscriminate, carpet-bombing Americans with the man they elected rather than launching communications smart weapons.

The result is that for millions of Americans, the very likable, charming Obama has become a constant tone in the background rather than an occasional, convincing, presidential voice in the foreground – the kind that makes your ears perk up.

Amen to that – as I stated earlier I just tune Obama out anymore.

He went on ESPN twice to announce his Final Four picks. He went on “The View” (drawing 6.5 million viewers). He had a “Christmas at the White House” special with Oprah Winfrey. He went on Jay Leno – becoming the first sitting President to appear on a late-night show. He was on the cover of Rolling Stone, giving a revealing interview looking back on his first 18 months in office. In December, he’ll be going on the Discovery Channel’s “MythBusters.”

All that’s left, apparently, is to be a guest voice on “The Simpsons,” though I’m sure that’s in the offing. Banksy will animate.

Don’t give him any ideas – Obama is more attracted to the popularity of being President than the tough work of being one.

Without Obama’s and Oprah’s fingerprints on it, the rally might have looked like a semi-spontaneous uprising by moderate-as-hell Americans sick and tired of the extremists. Now, it’ll appear to be a Democratic Party event, through and through – appearing to opponents every bit as “Astroturfed” as the biggest Tea Party events seem.

I sure don’t remember Huffington or Oprah buying buses for the Tea Party – in fact I don’t remember anyone but those average citizen attended buying them.

Remember the 2008 campaign: John McCain, sensing a vulnerability, mocked Obama for being a celebrity who wasn’t ready to lead. The commercial is gone, but the reservations are not.

People start to wonder why, if you’re the President in very serious times, you can find a slot in your schedule for frivolity like picking NCAA brackets – but not for more than one true news conference every couple of months.

They start to wonder if your overexposure is not a form of overcompensation.

Perhaps it more of a way to hide complete incompetence – nobody like his agenda, he has voiced it repeatedly and still the American people aren’t buying it no matter where he spews his garbage. America as a whole is not a socialist country no mater how badly Obama wants it to be.

Obama going on The Daily Show packed mostly with Democrat staffers is in my opinion a sign of desperation as he continues to play lesser and lesser audiences of admirers – he is not far from playing to just family and friends has his popularity has hit a new low of 37%. The way I see it Obama can’t make his case to anyone that he deems the enemy as has been by either ego, fear or both restricted himself to playing only to the choir.

By the way – this is Obama’s second appearance on The Daily Show (first one as President) and I believe that is the same number of times Obama has been on Fox News… once as a candidate and once as President - not that Fox has any viewers.

Keep preaching to the choir Barry, the congregation has left the building.

Voter Fraud… where?

A week out of the election and democrat voter fraud is raising it’s ugly head already… kinda weird how voter “glitches” are never in favor of the Republicans, huh?

Residents cry foul over ballots

A trio of Bucks County residents backed by the county Republican committee say they have evidence linking Democratic Congressman Patrick Murphy’s campaign to a scheme to flood the county voter registration office with fraudulent applications for absentee ballots.

In a petition filed Tuesday, county Republicans say the name of Murphy’s campaign manager appeared on a Bristol post office box where voters were urged in a series of letters paid for by the state Democratic Committee to send absentee ballot applications.

Lawmakers May Probe Late Military Ballots

Illinois may not be finished investigating those late military ballots.

Members of the House Elections Committee say they’re considering formal hearings into how and why 36 counties missed the deadline to send ballots to deployed servicemen and other overseas voters.

Board of Elections gaffe may nullify New York soldiers’ overseas absentee ballots

New York election officials were required to ship the ballots to U.S. citizens living overseas by Sept. 17. Because New York primaries were held Sept. 14, the feds granted local officials an extension until Oct. 1.

Several New York counties blew past the extension – including the city’s five boroughs.

Angle campaign attorney: Reid “intends to steal this election if he can’t win it outright”

Two days ago, the Democratic Secretary of State announced that voters can be provided “free food” at “voter turnout events.” Harry Reid has been offering free food and, according to other reports, some Democratic allies such as teachers’ unions are offering gift cards in return for a vote for Reid.

Voter reports problem with ballot machine

Sam Laughinghouse of New Bern said he pushed the button to vote Republican in all races, but the voting machine screen displayed a ballot with all Democrats checked. He cleared the screen and tried again with the same result, he said. Then he asked for and received help from election staff.

“They pushed it twice and the same thing happened,” Laughinghouse said. “That was four times in a row. The fifth time they pushed it and the Republicans came up and I voted.”

Nevada Voters Complain Of Problems At Polls

Controversy arose after Boulder City resident Joyce Ferrara complained to FOX5 that when she went to vote for GOP Senate candidate Sharron Angle, Reid’s name was already checked.

“Something’s not right,” Ferrara said. She claimed her husband and several others voting at the same time all had the same thing happen.

The Left’s Voter Fraud Whitewash

In Harris County, Texas, the voter registrar admitted that 20 percent of voter registration forms submitted by liberal activist Houston Votes had problems. Election whistleblowers there are now being investigated by the Obama Justice Department and have been slapped with an ethics complaint by the Texas Democratic Party and a left-wing billionaire George Soros-funded group called Texans for Public Justice.

In Yuma County, Ariz., election officials denied any fraud associated with thousands of requests for “permanent early voter list” status submitted en masse by open-borders group Mi Familia Vota (a social justice satellite group of the Service Employees International Union). But election officials admitted that some 6,000 out of 14,000 requests fielded by the Yuma County Recorder’s Office “were reviewed and rejected, under Arizona law, either due to the fact the request was a duplicate or the requestor was not eligible to vote in this election or within the jurisdiction.”

SEIU to Nevada: “You Vote, We Decide”

Did you know that the SEIU represents the voting machine technicians in Clark County (Las Vegas), Nevada? Is it any surprise, as reported yesterday, that there was a voting glitch in Clark County, Nevada? The glitch caused Harry Reid’s name to be automatically checked on the ballot before voters had indicated who were they were supporting.

Get out there and vote! And watch out for irregularities.

So now We Americans are the Enemy?

Get this…

How Will Obama Punish His Enemies and Reward His Friends?

Who is the real Barack Hussein Obama? Harvard-educated professor of law? Radical community organizer? Union flack? Or Chicago Way thug politician?

Now that it seems apparent that President Obama’s big government takeover policies will be soundly rebuked by the electorate next Tuesday, his anger against those who oppose him seems to be rising to the surface again and his true nature is showing through.

This past Monday, speaking on Univision, he warned that attaining his goals will be harder “[I]f Latinos sit out the election instead of saying, ‘We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us’.”

Do what? Did he say “We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us” – So what happened to Mr. Bipartisan, Mr. New-Era-in-Government, Mr. Open-and-Transparent? Don’t tell me that Obama lied… NO! Yeah, I know no surprise there huh?

So what I get from this is the majority of the American people that oppose Obama – and it is a majority – are now the enemy in his eyes – not the Islamic terrorist and not the Taliban. Niether of whom to my memory have even been called “the enemy” by Obama, but those American that think he is taking the country in the wrong direction are to be ignored, sent to the back of the bus because as we are his enemy? Us, the American people are the enemy in the Presidents eyes? You’ve got to be freaking kidding me!

This kind of trash talk from an American president about the American people is really beyond the pail – it is a window in to who this clown really is. I’m not a big fan of liberals, but I don’t consider them the enemy, misguided morons yes, but the enemy, no.

As the rest of the linked article above goes on to point out that Obama and/or his minions have made statements about kicking the ass of or putting the boot on the throat of those that oppose him – some leader huh? I do believe it’s time we elect wave after wave of Tea Party/conservative style candidates and roll this skid mark of a clown on our nations history out the door. Shut him down until he is gone and undo the damage he has done under the new conservative administration in Jan 2013.

Obama is going to try and circumvent congress with executive power – you watch this ass. He knows nothing about working with others and he is nothing more then a two bit Chicago street thug. Really I’ve heard some partisan speech from a lot of politicians, but the crap coming out of this guys pie hole is some of the most divisive rhetoric I’ve ever heard or can recall reading about in American history. He with these words has sealed his fate as the worst American president – ever.

Oh and while Obama is trying to scare the Hispanic vote by making the conservatives out to be the enemy – they might want to remember that he is playing them for the fool as deportation are higher under Obama than under Bush.

Deportation of illegal immigrants increases under Obama administration

In a bid to remake the enforcement of federal immigration laws, the Obama administration is deporting record numbers of illegal immigrants and auditing hundreds of businesses that blithely hire undocumented workers.

So tell me Hispanic voters – who is your real enemy?

Closing thought – imagine the reaction from the left if GW had said that about the libs… which he wouldn’t as he has too much class for that.

What others have to say…
Obama: “punish our enemies…reward our friends”
Obama: Republicans Are “Threat to our democracy.”
Obama’s turnout pitch to Latinos: Get out there and punish your “enemies”
Obama tells Hispanic voters to ‘punish’ enemies

Schuller Megachurch: Bankrupt!

Rarely do I talk about religion, politics is volatile enough with out dragging religion into the arena. So instead of writing a long blog about what I think I’ll just touch ever so briefly on this…

Tearful Schuller Pleads for Dollars for Crystal Cathedral

Schuller, 84, made the plea from the pulpit as he spoke publicly for the first time since the church filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Oct. 18.

“I need more help from you,” Schuller said, according to the Orange County Register. “If you are a tither, become a double-tither. If you are not a tither, become a tither. This ministry has earned your trust. This ministry has earned your help.”

On tithing….

Tithing is Unscriptural Under the New Covenant

1. Abraham never tithed on his own personal property or livestock.

2. Jacob wouldn’t tithe until God blessed him first.

3. Only Levite priests could collect tithes, and there are no Levite priests today.

4. Only food products from the land were tithable.

5. Money was never a tithable commodity.

6. Christian converts were never asked to tithe anything to the Church.

7. Tithing in the Church first appears centuries after completion of the Bible.

This is all I will say… I am not a fan of preacher that beg from the pulpit. My believe is a simple one… your charity, your giving, your ‘tithing’ is between you and God and I know of no Deity that needs a middleman.

Movie of the Week #40 – Robin Hood

Filed under: Movie of the Week — Tags: — AWG @ 11:31 pm

Robin Hood

Birth of a legend. Following King Richard’s death in France, archer Robin Longstride, along with Will Scarlett, Alan-a-Dale and Little John, returns to England. They encounter the dying Robert of Locksley, whose party was ambushed by treacherous Godfrey, who hopes to facilitate a French invasion of England. Robin promises the dying knight he will return his sword to his father Walter in Nottingham. Here Walter encourages him to impersonate the dead man to prevent his land being confiscated by the crown, and he finds himself with Marian, a ready-made wife. Hoping to stir baronial opposition to weak King John and allow an easy French take-over, Godfrey worms his way into the king’s service as Earl Marshal of England and brutally invades towns under the pretext of collecting Royal taxes. Can Robin navigate the politics of barons, royals, traitors, and the French?

Not you typical Robin Hood – darker and more intense. What you would expect from Ridley Scott. I watched the Director’s Cut which was about around 2 hours 36 minutes and it was very enjoyable and sets up the back story of who is Robin Hood and how he became who he is – clearly at least seemingly the first movie of another one or two. Naturally a lot of liberty is taken with the historical facts of the real life character (King Richard I, Prince John), but it’s a movie not a history lesson.

It was 27 years ago today…

The MUSLIMS, the ISLAMIC MUSLIMS, the middle eastern liberals attacked and murdered 241 Marines and others in Beirut, Lebanon. I knew many of those that were murdered and I”m not going to play our dumbass presidents game of tolerance and political correctness – it was f**king raghead Muslim terrorist sons of bitched c**ksuckers that killed them on Oct, 23, 1983 and I’ll never forget the looks of them dancing in the street after it happen  – enough said! What’s the real deal with Williams and National Propaganda Radio?

National Propaganda Radio

Well you know that the Juan Williams story is everywhere and even has many on the right and the left agreeing that Juan was done wrong. I’m no fan or hater of Juan Williams, he seems nice enough – I just rarely agree with him on many issues, but National Propaganda Radio really screwed the moose on this one and I think it will have quite a bit of backlash as a partially government funded broadcast network.

I’m not going to embed a clip or rehash what he said and what happened if you haven’t heard it by now you’ve been in a void.

But what I find funny is this is fund raising week for NPR and they’ve managed to piss off a lot of people on the right and the left and the idiots on the left that are cheering them on aren’t going to give them any money as liberal give little in charity. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. but the real deal is NPR hates Fox News and just last week the George Soros funded Open Society dropped $1.8 million in the pockets of NPR and since the hard left often refers to Juan Williams as a quasi-liberal one has to ask… coincidence?

George Soros’ Millions Buying ‘Political Reporters’ for NPR

But what makes this all even more suspicious is the source of the $1.8 million donation. The Open Society Foundations was founded by well-known anti-American George Soros. Yet, nowhere in the news is this made clear to readers.

Yet, here we have George Soros buying reporters for NPR, the same Soros who has an extremely left-wing agenda that he has been pushing on the world for decades. After all, if the assumption that conservatives owning Fox makes its news slanted, shouldn’t the same logic dictate that anything Soros owns reflects his ideology? Shouldn’t we assume that NPR’s new reporters will be left-wing hacks bought and paid for by one of the richest, most active, most extreme left-wing activists in the world?

So what is the difference between a left-wing billionaire buying 100 reporters for NPR and Fox News being owned by conservative owners? Why has the Old Media establishment completely ignored the extremist agenda of the foundation making such a large donation to NPR? Why isn’t NPR to be suspected of being a left-wing mouthpiece now?

This is nothing more than a on going effort from the left to suppress any speech they disagree with and by firing Williams so publicly they hope this scare others in fear of their job into comment silence. To quote Thomas Jefferson – “Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the tempestuous sea of liberty” and too many men are timid in this tempestuous times preferring to conform instead of confront. Any tyranny or oppression of freedom that this generation tolerates the next generation will embrace and my generation has tolerated political correctness all while the up coming generation is embracing it as the norm creating a candy ass timid and conformist society.

Goldberg: NPR drove a stake through the heart of liberalism

What makes this so crazy — and so sad — is that liberals are the open-minded ones, the ones who cherish the free exchange of ideas, the smart ones. And if you don’t believe me, just ask any liberal, who will be glad to tell you how smart and open-minded he or she is. But these are the kind of people who believe in “free speech” only as long as they agree with you.

I feel bad for Juan, He’s a good, decent man. His firing will make lots of other Americans think twice before they say something the boss may not like. And that’s not a good thing in a democracy that thrives on vibrant, sometimes controversial ideas.

Juan Williams calls for the government to defund NPR

“If they want to compete in the marketplace, they should compete in the marketplace,” Williams said Friday in an interview on “Fox and Friends”. “They don’t need public funds. I think that they should go out there. They think their product is so great, go out and sell the product.”

But NPR claims they’ve been telling Juan for a long time to put a cork in it…

NPR Internal Memo on Juan Williams

Second, this isn’t the first time we have had serious concerns about some of Juan’s public comments. Despite many conversations and warnings over the years, Juan has continued to violate this principal.

Third, these specific comments (and others made in the past), are inconsistent with NPR’s ethics code, which applies to all journalists (including contracted analysts):

“In appearing on TV or other media . . . NPR journalists should not express views they would not air in their role as an NPR journalist. They should not participate in shows . . . that encourage punditry and speculation rather than fact-based analysis.”

How long has Juan been a pundit on Fox? 13 years and now they have a problem with it? There is a little thing called contractual waver by submission or something a long those lines which means that if you have an agreement with a party and you have an agreement with them not to do x,y or z and you do x,y, or z and the party in agreement and they take no action than they have waved that part of the agreement by submission. NPR is now claiming they have said x,y and z and Williams is saying they didn’t so only time and a legal battle will sort it out.

This is nothing more than a effort to silence people into cowardice and Juan got happen to be the liberal whipping boy, since whipping conservatives isn’t working. This is a typical liberal tactic and I’ll cite some examples according to the liberals and their media – if you support the Arizona illegal alien policy then you are a racist, it you oppose gay marriage then you are homophobic, if you support lower taxes you hate the poor, if you support business you are against the environment, if Muslim make you nervous then you are a bigot etc etc.

Bottom line is Juan got treated like conservatives do everyday and he doesn’t much like it – so tell me Juan how does it taste? Perhaps Juan will wake up to the liberal hypocrisy but I doubt it.
