But hey according to the government I go out max out my credit cards to pay of my debts and everything will be ok… right? Insane.

Don’t ask, Don’t whine
I’ll admit it I’m old school and I’m not a big fan of gays in the military, gay don’t bother me I don’t care what you do in you private life that’s your business but in the military there is no private life and I don’t think gays will fit in and I’ll tell you why. They have “protected class status” and while minority enjoy the same status it rarely if ever flies in the military and in fact I can’t think of a single case of discrimination or hate legislation during my years in the Marine Corps, not one. That mentality just doesn’t fly; the military doesn’t play that game. If you claim racism by the light of day, you’ll have your ass kicked in the dark of night. That attitude does not build unit cohesion.
I can say this – the Corps in my day could be brutal physically, mentally and verbally. If you’ve ever seen the movie Full Metal Jacket is the most accurate picture of Marine Corp boot camp ever put to film. It’s more accurate than those goofy “Building Marines” (or what ever it’s called) boot camp shows on Discovery Channel, so without further ado a motivational clip from Full Metal Jacket which will enlighten you to the issues in which I speak.
