The first lady had encouraged Freshfarm Markets, the group that runs popular farmers markets in Dupont Circle and elsewhere, to set up near the White House, and she helped get the approvals to shut down Vermont Avenue during rush hour on Thursdays. But the result was quite the opposite of a quaint farmers market. Considering all the logistics, each tomato she purchased had a carbon footprint of several tons.
A carbon footprint of several tons for a tomatoe… good gawd now there is some leading by example, Michelle. Meanwhile you’re told by Ears that you can’t keep your thermostat set at 72 degrees and drive anyplace you want anytime you want and expect the rest of the world to say “OK”… hypocrisy? I think so. Michelle really should ask WWLBD? (What would Laura Bush do?)
So here is what happened…
The Secret Service and the D.C. police brought in three dozen vehicles and shut down H Street, Vermont Avenue, two lanes of I Street and an entrance to the McPherson Square Metro station. They swept the area, in front of the Department of Veterans Affairs, with bomb-sniffing dogs and installed magnetometers in the middle of the street, put up barricades to keep pedestrians out, and took positions with binoculars atop trucks. Though the produce stand was only a block or so from the White House, the first lady hopped into her armored limousine and pulled into the market amid the wail of sirens.
THREE DOZEN VEHICLES!!! That’s 36 cars and trucks to go get some freaking lettuce and ‘maters. So how much did this little trip the Farmers Market cost us the taxpayer? Shutting down roads, bomb sniffing dogs, secret service, magnetometers, barricades to keep pedestrians customers out and 36 cars and trucks… just so this troll could buy some “organic Asian pears, cherry tomatoes, multicolored potatoes, free-range eggs and, yes, two bunches of Tuscan kale.” By the way Obama paid $5.00 a dozen for free-range eggs while you can buy them in rural America where I live for a $1.00 dozen all the the store is $1.50-$2.00 dozen and Tuscan Kale is nothing more than “black cabbage” yes I said it, BLACK cabbage… black racist cabbage and in my opinion it’s not that good unless you drown it in bacon grease and vinegar.
[Michelle] Obama, in her brief speech to the vendors and patrons, handled the affordability issue by pointing out that people who pay with food stamps would get double the coupon value at the market. Even then, though, it’s hard to imagine somebody using food stamps to buy what the market offered: $19 bison steak from Gunpowder Bison, organic dandelion greens for $12 per pound from Blueberry Hill Vegetables, the Piedmont Reserve cheese from Everson Dairy at $29 a pound. Rounding out the potential shopping cart: $4 for a piece of “walnut dacquoise” from the Praline Bakery, $9 for a jumbo crab cake at Chris’s Marketplace, $8 for a loaf of cranberry-walnut bread and $32 for a bolt of yarn.
Excuse me!! People on FOOD STAMPS get double coupons or what could be called a 50% discount? I’ve talked about this before people getting discounts for using food stamps. There is a motivator to get off the government tit and become a productive citizen. Don’t get me on my soap box about food stamps… the last damn thing you should be allowed to buy on food stamps is bison steaks and Piedmont Reserve cheese! And if you want dandelion greens get your ass out in the yard and pick some. $8 for a loaf of cranberry-walnut bread? Ridiculous, it’s got about 75 cents worth of ingredient in it.

Particularly when it involves a soundstage, an interpreter for the deaf, three TV satellite trucks and the closing of part of downtown Washington.
Really? It’s hard to put together a healthy meal? We have a garden, we go to the slaughter house (yes a real slaughterhouse that come in on the hoof and leave wrapped in paper) to buy locally produced meat, we buy American produced fresh fish and eat healthy meals most everyday and it’s not that hard to do and I live in a rural area that doesn’t have the availability of a urban market like Washington DC. The women is just an idiot… if you can’t put together a healthy meal in the White House that likely has the best stocked pantry in the country all furnished at the tax payers expense then perhaps you need to haul your extra large ass back to Chicago and put some patriot in the office that doesn’t have to have pizza flown in from St Louis.
And this country is full of people that actually believe these two super elitist care about them? Idiots that think they don’t have to worry about their food, their gas or their mortgage anymore. Please! She is a hateful troll that enjoyed a no-show $300K a year job in Chicago and her hate filled racist husband that has pump out TWO – count them TWO autobiographies at the tender age of 45 by 2006 and he hasn’t done a damn thing worth writing about at that point in his life and the only thing that can be written about him now is a horror story of the destruction he has inflicted on America.
You want to impress American Michelle, you want to impress us? Feed a family of four on $200.00 a month without a government handout… now that would be impressive and I know people that do it you elitist snob. Take you Tuscan Kale and shove it.
